Straight forward installation, plenty of cable for the rear camera.
Rear camera positioning and cable routing is the trickiest part.
The quality of the displayed image and recordings is excellent.
Screen touch sensitivity is also good.
Recordings can be made of the Front camera, the Rear camera or the two cameras in a split screen option.
Activating the reversing camera can be made automatic if you connect the red wire to the reversing lights but be aware of problems with LEDs and Bus operated lights. In that case make up your own switch and connect to the red wire or simply touch the screen to activate the display.
The screen is lightly tinted and it is very easy to focus on the screen display or look through the display to see the true rear view.
I suspect this may be the best after market solution currently available.

Hi I used space in the boot lid metal work and ran the wires around the boot seal and into the boot. A big of a pain, but it works for me.

Hi, I had my camera installed by a "professional" as I wanted the rear view in my camper to be permanently on when driving (as per your video). However what I get is the rear view including reverse lines! Also I spoke to Pioneer support as I don't have the Function buttons showing. They said to connect the red wire to the reversing light but I don't think you did that. Can you tell me exactly how you wired it to achieve what you have. Thanks

Hi Do not connect the red wire to a permanent live. Connect it to reversing switch or leave it disconnected. To view the rear camera all the time, turn the screen timeout feature to off or never. To view the camera you want simply cycle through the camera view options until you get the rear view only. I will check which button you need to press to cycle the option shortly.

@@Trevs-Shed Thanks, I thought the Pioneer advice was incorrect re the red wire. However, I do not have access to the Function buttons as mentioned in my question. They appear for about 2 seconds on start up and then vanish.

Hi Isn't that because you have the red wire connected to live and it is over riding everything and going straight to reversing mode? Disconnect the red wire and you will be back to normal. There will be a camera logo with a arrowed circle around it top right of the screen, repeated pressing cycles through the various camera view options. @@redosprey

@@Trevs-Shed Sadly no. The red wire is not connected at all. I am wondering if this is a faulty unit as surely however it's wired the options screen should appear and stay visible?

Having just had another look, I think I can see the problem. The live feed appears to have been connected to further up the rear light cluster - I'm guessing the rear driving lamp. I am going to disconnect that and connect the red wire to the reversing lamp and, fingers crossed, that should sort it. Thanks for your help.

Having just watched the video I think it is recording both cameras all the time but you can display them however you want.

Hi Trev. Thanks for this review. Might be getting one of these at the Caravan show at the NEC as Pioneer have a special offer on it. Could you just clarify about the rear dashcam recording you played. The image appeared to be reversed based on the number plate of the car behind. Is that just a configuration issue> Did you manage to solve it? And if you want to use it as a permamently active rear view camera for use in, for example, a panel van, that's possible by just setting the display to never time out? Have you been able to confirm that whatever view is active, both cameras are always being recorded?

The rear camera is that installed externally against the number plate or can it be fitted inside the vehicle against the back window

@@Trevs-Shed re this camera when you're reversing do u find that the lines that appear are not accurate. As I reserve a yellow line appears that highlights 'stop' when I have plenty of distance left. Is there a way to change the lines display when reversing
