We have purchased the ECODECK grid system to put a shed on it, so here is the first video and part 2 is in the same playlist. Part 2 • ECODECK Paving, Drivew...
Thanks guys this actually answered slot of questions I had, I've got one kit ready to lay tomorrow 👌 really helpful to see 1 bag of shingle almost does 1 grid 👍
Thanks very much chaps for an informative and helpful video. Just doing the same process and getting quotes for concrete bases versus hiring the kit and trying to do it myself, but your video has shown there’s a better way. Cheers. Dan
Hi, thanks for the video Daniel. Wonder if you could give some guidance? I want to put paving slabs over my whole garden to stop the maintenance of grass, plus my neighbour has a massive tree and the grass is dead and looking awful. I’m in a terraced house with not too much access into the garden, only through the house so want something that will be least mess and labour intensive in creating a base for slabs, as i shall be doing this job entirely on my own, aside from the little bit of help from the misses. The grass already there is kind of flat but I’d do my best to cut really short, rake and compress then membrane, so do you think this ECO Deck system you have used would be ok to lay paving slabs on, or even the ECO deck plastic decking? Think I’d obviously need to use the resin with the pea shingle if i were to go for a slab option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
you DONT NOT need to fill these bases with gravel for a shed base , you ONLY need to put the gravel around the outside for a french drain to stop splash back . the deck will happily sit on the deck with no gravel in it . These grids are actually designed to be used on driveways to stop your car sinking into the soft ground and THEN you would need to fill it with gravel but as a shed base its totally not needed . It does make it very strong, agreed , but , its not needed for a shed base. Mine has sat on an empty one for years after taking advice from Ecodeck themselves and they say that you only need to fill it if you are driving on it .
@@DanielJohnHowTo oh absolutely , it really does add a lot of stability . if you have a fairly light shed for sure , mine is a beast of a thing (16x10 wooden thing) because i work out of it , so the weight keeps it stable enough , I think its one of the best inventions even produced , i was dreading having to pour concrete or build a deck thing , but found these and i was over the moon . Good work , i hope you are enjoying the shed !
Really annoying that the clips they supplied with the base are just a pain to use, i have the same kit just about to install, will definitely be using cable ties to, thanks for the help
Is laying sand over the leveled ground vital before laying the membrane? Can the membrane be layed directly over the dirt or do you have to use sand/aggregate?? Thanks. My last base was concrete which was so simple.
Hi William, we used 16 bags of 10mm pea gravel the dial stuff from B&Q (their sizes bags) and there is a part two to this video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-THrrampfDwM.html thanks
