Did you like the performance of the EcoFlow Delta 2 power station!? Purchase the EcoFlow Delta 2 using the 5% OFF DISCOUNT CODE ( LGL23I6B ): us.ecoflow.com/?aff=216
I need this one. Originally I was going to buy bluetti eb3a and 70s, but now I think all I need to buy is the Delta 2 for $1K vs the other two bluetti for $800. Does this one buy make more sense?
Seems people getting different efficiency results for AC & DC. I'm trying to decide on this box but seeing 74% reported except what Jason reported. Anyone reported lower efficiency?
Awesome review Jason. Really great data and presentation! I agree with the tweaks you made to the rating system, that's super helpful to people shopping for units.
Great review, been considering this unit, used the promo code and ordered today with a bonus waterproof bag at no charge. Perfect for camping and hurricane back up to power the fridge.
Jason after consideration about how I use the delta 2. I have decided that for my purposes, the extra battery would be a waste of money. So I'm buying a second delta 2 instead. Basically we only spend time in two maybe three rooms in the house. Two of those rooms are side by side. The delta 2 can run everything in the kitchen except the range. Out the other one in the master bedroom. I can't do that with the extra battery. If I ever decide to get a transfer switch to run house. I'll be purchasing a larger unit with expandability. Oh and the two rooms next to each other are kitchen and den. The only we run in den are TV and a couple of lamps. What say you.
I think that will work well for what you have described. You can even have one charging while the other on is in use. I love how small and lightweight these are.
Excellent review; thanks for explaining the lack of independent charging for the extra battery at the 19:00 mark. An area for improvement for EcoFlow on an otherwise good product
Another great review Jason! :) And it wasn't too long at all. A really well made and in depth video. Just what someone needs to see before buying a power station like this. Looking forward to more ecoflow products getting the LifePO4 makeover too.
Excellent, thorough review. While you said this was a long video I prefer this to a five minute cursory introduction to a $1,000 device. Earlier this year our power was out for almost 18 hours. No AC, no fans, no cooking. I looked at a Milwaukee battery powered fan and that was about $100. A Delta 2 seems like a bargain in comparison since I can run a fan, use a kettle and an induction cooktop. Coffee maker too.
FYI: the idle power consumption for the DC output is actually about 3 watts or ~0,3% per hour. The SoC meter just doesn't register it so you could end up with an empty battery a couple of weeks while the Delta 2 is still indicating 100%. Same goes for low power solar charging. If you only input a couple of watts, the SoC stays the same. This has thrown me off the loop a couple of times until I figured it out. I suppose the current shunt isn't accurate enough to produce enough voltage drop at such low currents.
Excellent job. You keep adding new angles in your reviews and I love it. I have been waiting for this unit for awhile. One disappointment is the 60V solar limit. Bluetti had a similar issue with the EB150, then they released the EB240 and raised the voltage a bit. EcoFlow should have made it something like 66V or 70V. In any case, small complaint for a nice unit.
Yeah, you have to have very specific panels to put them in a 3s config. Luckily it allows up to 15 amps input, a large improvement over the 10 amp limit of the EB120/EB150. So you could probably still get max power with a 2S config as well.
They finally went LiFePO4!! I think now that they are at the 'standard' (at least for people in the know who are researching), their other value adds (fast charging, 1800W inverter, expansion, backwards compatibility) put them above the competition. They are back on my radar! Thanks for the review, Jason!
Great review thanks so much! About to purchase on Amazon with $250 discount & free waterproof case… this will reduce some anxiety once I receive it. World is getting crazy!
I was disappointed to find that you cannot use the Ecoflow Wave air conditioner AND another battery but I don't think that's an issue for most people. Well you can but not through DC.
Very nice that's it has lifepo4! This is more than likely be my next solar generator purchase. These power stations are collectibles with so much utility lol
Eco Flow Delta 2 is going to sell all they make! Thank you for the review. I congratulate Eco Flow for getting a 9.5 out of 10 score. Finally, I want to say good for Eco Flow to refer to one of its features as an EPS (Emergency Power Source) and not UPS (Uninterruptable Power Source).
I like how they aren't claiming it to be a true uninterrupted power supply. You can see in my video it worked with the desktop just fine, but failed with the monitor. Some devices will work and some won't as it cuts over. Overall, very good performance for a portable unit.
Great video as always! I have a suggestion for a future tests. For solar applications it's crucial to have a good round-trip efficiency in addition to a good inverter and dc circuitry efficiency. Could you also measure the total input energy in kWh needed to charge a solar generator fully? Putting a power meter between the solar array and the MPPT controller input would help in sizing the array. And while you're at it, why not measure the input energy while charging from AC with the Kill a watt you use for inverter output efficiency tests?
Looking through the spreed sheet I didn't see a column related to expandability via additional batteries. That for me would be very helpful as I can take head unit for camping and use expanded setup for more of home backup system if I can add enough batteries. Great videos.
Hi Jason, thanks for your informative video! #Greatness! I just received my Delta 2 and wanted to use it for a back up here in Florida during the lightning storms. Specifcally the EPS MODE, do you think it's okay if i leave this plugged in 24/7 for that reason? Would that be wasteful in any way? I plan to keep my office plugged into it, including the router, all the time. I appreciate your suggestion, thank you!
Very good review my friend. Very impressive product. One question, it would be nice if I could charge my 48 volt e-bike battery from DC and or use the e-bike battery as an expansion module to this one. That would give a multy purpose use to both devices. Depending on the need at the time. Because the e-bike charger can only do 2 amps.
Super review like always and super product! Do you think that can be recharged with one Sp200 bluetti panel? And if yes, which cable is necessary? Thanks in advance!
Im guessing will charge in about 4 to 5 hours with that solar panel in excellent solar conditions. You'd want to pick up the adapter see in the video, "MC4 to XT60".
Just like everything else, power stations keep getting better and certainly more expensive. I like that it's lightweight!! I can pick it up and put it where I want it. That's a plus for me! Thank you for the review, Jason!
There are 3 tubers I follow you included and on the other channel the computer turned off, the relay switch used on the Delta 2 was not fast enough to use as a UPS. Interestingly all 3 of you loaded up the videos today. Just FYI, I understand that if one also owns the Delta Max and you own the expansion battery you can use that battery on the Delta 2. Love your videos and great job on this one too. Keep up the good work.
Those videos came out at the same time since the product was launched that day. We are given a "video launch time" and the video can't come out before then :) Thanks for watching Shelley!
I really like that point about the extra batteries just being a way to expand capacity and nothing else. No way to charge or use outside of the main device. I had the idea that, on my Delta Pro, I could use the extra battery to bring outside and charge via solar during the day then bring it back inside to keep the main battery going at night but you can't do that. Shame cause, if you want to use the Delta 2 or Delta pro as your main station and keep it in a specific spot, it could be hard to bring out to wherever power is coming unless you get longer cords or have a setup already installed or something. At least with the Delta 2, it's a looooot easier to carry around, lol. Thanks for the video!
Hi - really good review! Only concern/question I have is ... do you see any no-load self discharge? It seems LFP batteries can suffer from charge drain of 1% per week with everything switched off. Have you noticed any drain and if so roughly how fast? For home backup use that would be a con. Thanks again!!
No, I haven't not seen anything like that in my extensive testing. Maybe if you leave the power station running for the week you'll see that type of loss. Turning it fully off you won't lose 1% per week.
Hi, (sorry for my English)I have delta 2 unit with the extra battery. I used this unit almost every day about a month now and all worked fine. I charged from solar and the extra battery charged up to 100% without problem, but the main unit stopped at 84%. I tried to charge from mains as well and the same. The charge/ discharge level is on 0-100% so shoudn’t be problem. I try to use my tv from ac to take out some charge, but only charged back to 84%. After that switched off the unit and just disconnected the extra battery and I planned to discharge the unit to 0% but the last 1% lasted forever, So I tried to recharge the main unit from main now and hoped will go through on 84%. The main unt said on the screen Will be fully charged just in 25minutes from 1%, charged with 1000watts. Successfully was able to step through the 84% but when hit the 90% suddenly jumped to 100% and stopped charging. What can be the problem? I’m able to use the full capacity off the battery or something went wrong with the battery or the controller software? Thanks for the help
The display percentages aren't exact but I haven't seen my jump around that much. Use the Ecoflow smart app to open a support ticket, see if they will replace or repair the unit. You can also call them on the phone to get support.
Thank you for the review. I’m an energy minimalist doing most cooking via 12v and charging with 200watts solar. My only concern is having repaired under warranty.
Ecoflow support has always been responsive both over the phone and email. They replaced my River Pro when it had issues. Give them a call and test it out. See what you think about their service.
Really enjoy your videos. I’m looking at buying a portable power station to power my Snomaster CL56D fridge/freezer. I will have it in my work truck and I am trying to figure out the best way to charge it while I’m driving. The fridge does allow you to have both AC and DC connected, but will default to AC power if connected. If I’m right I could use the portable power station to charge while driving while running the fridge off AC power on the pack. Once the truck is shut off the power pack will disconnect from charging and the fridge will switch to DC power in the power pack.
I'm very likely buying this power staton for charging my e-mountain bike for camping and hunting. The TWO reasons are: 1.) the LFP battery with greatly expanded cycle life over Li-ion stations. 2.) its companion battery expansion, ALSO with LFP battery technology. This expansion battery is mainly for home emergency use. I plan to charge this when camping/hunting with an Off Grid TREK solar blanket draped over my MAZDA CX-5 windshield and roof with the DELTA 2 locked inside the trunk while I'm away from camp. In the evening I'll simultaneously re-charge my E-MTB's 2 batteries in its patented single charge port.
Excellent review! Love your videos! I just bought a Delta 2 and finding it quite noisy, just running a TV at 100w and the fans flare up. Didn’t have this with my EB70. Do you know if there’s a way to stop this? On the latest firmware. Thanks, Bri
@@Jasonoid Hey, thanks for the quick reply. It’s almost as if they are checking whether they’re needed or not. Every 10 mins or so, the fans fire up for 20-30 seconds, then switch off again. I expect the fans to be on with larger loads - first world problems :-) can live with it, but yeah, coming from the EB70, wasn’t expecting it.
Just bought both for just over $900 a couple weeks ago with a slickdeal. Wonder if they are making way for newer models? One thing I wished you could do is charge the extra battery without hooking it through the main Delta 2.
This is SO useful. Just found your channel. OUTSTANDING review and comparisons to competing brands. Excellent spreadsheet. Liked and subbed! PLEASE can u compare AC200Max to the Delta Max?? :) :) TWO RIVALS so very similar in WH and price. :) :) (edited: i just realized the Delta Max is not LFP…aka 1/3 life…forget that) Thx Jason!
Hey Ronny! I'm sure EcoFlow will put out a Delta 2 Max (LFP version) sometime in the future. For now the Delta 2 is the only LFP version they offer. I have the AC200max and I will be doing a review video on it later on the channel :)
I would choose it over the Delta Max 1600wh model, probably not over the Delta Max 2000wh option though. That one is still more powerful and takes in more solar.
We are looking for a system like this that will run a well pump. Something that can be expanded. Your thoughts on the options out there. Preference on bluetti, ecoflow or others. The easiest for beginners. Thanks for you time and input
greetings buyer beware with bluetti, I purchased AC200P right out box a dud and still fighting with customer service for refund and nothing yet as I search reviews lot of complaints with their backing the product great success in your endeavor
Excellant reviews. I see there is a sale on this and can get it with the 220W Bifacial solar panel. Do you have a better recommendation for a portable panel to use with this? And are there any issues with cold weather usage? Thanks
The 220w panel put's out great power, but it's a little heavy when compared to other panels I have tested. I haven't really tested any power stations at extreme low temps. Anything around 25F or higher the power station makes enough heat to keep itself warm. Lower than that, not sure how it will behave.
Does this unit prioritize solar over ac charging like the Bluetti AC180? For me the 15amp solar input is my better choice - if it is prioritized. Thanks for the video!
When I tested this, it didn't allow dual charging. With a new firmware update it might allow dual charging now. It always prioritized solar charging when filmed.
Nice video! Is the passthrough power limited to the max AC input of 1200 watts? In other words, if you connect the Delta 2 to a wall outlet and then a 1500 space heater to the Delta 2, would it drain the battery?
I have the Delta 2 with the extra battery. I have it set up to power most of my household electronics and it is connected to 2 solar panels that keep it pretty well juiced. Do you recommend this set up for regular or long term use as a method to reduce overall grid costs?
That's how I use my power stations. I have a reliance controls transfer switch and it's a great way to take specific circuits off grid and power them via solar.
I'm not a fan of lithium ion batteries. I had a bad experience while camping awhile back with a fridge battery that used the same batteries as a Jackery power station. LFP batteries are much safer! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1qOM5ih0IHg.html
Hey Jason bought delta 2 so far I’m happpy with it. I plan on buying extra battery after I save up some more cash. I have 2 200 watt newpowa panels. I would like to set them up outside in my yard but can’t figure how to get solar cables inside my house to charge delta.2. I don’t won’t to cut hole in my wall. I do have hole in my floor with an old satellite cable runs thru. Think I might be able to get one cable thru but probably no way for two. Got any suggestions
Jason; EcoFlo just came out on June 2, 2024, with their EcoFlo Delta 2 for $599.00. Has this proven to be a good power station for you? One of your videos showed you using a gas/propane generator to charge it.
It's very similar to the AC180 from Bluetti and the Anker SOLIX C1000. I've used the Delta 2 a bit around the house to power shop vacs, grinders, and my corded drills and saws. The 1800 watt inverter makes it useful for most applications but it's still light enough to not be annoying. That's a great price! It seems the pricing war is getting better and better.
Thanks for your feedback. I love how you can change the charge speed on the app. Most power stations don't offer that feature. Charge anywhere from 200 watts up to 1200 watts!
Love the video this eco-flow is everything I wanted too bad I just purchased the blue Eddie Max 4 months ago but my next power station will be this eco-flow thank you again I can't wait for your next video
We just purchase this unit. We did have the cord for the solar panels included. Thank you for your detailed review. I am trying to learn how to get the best use from this power station before we actually need it. God bless you.
I wouldn't say they were different results, he just tested a different device. I saw that he tested a laptop without a battery. I like to give realistic tests in my videos so I'm not sure how many people use laptops without batteries on a daily basis. Under some circumstances the EPS mode with the 30ms cuttover won't work for devices, but it will work for others. Since EcoFlow doesn't claim it to be a true UPS, I don't see an issue with this. If you need a device with true UPS mode, I'd go with something else. It's acting as advertised and in the owners manual it states it's not meant to replace a true UPS, I think that's why they called it EPS mode. This is great for full size refrigerators. Im not aware of a power station with a true 10ms cuttover feature, most other products on the market offer a 20ms swap over (Oukitel, FFpower, Bluetti, and LemiPower) which is better, but not ideal.
Hey! I just got in the ecoflow delta 2 unit 3 weeks after i had recieved the additional battery to connect to it 4 additional wattage..the company had a supply and demand problem and as i use medical equipment,i am having a difficult time in the new unit i recieved even getting the additional battery to "be seen as connected or even charging the extra battery" and i just dont know what the problem is as 2 why,as i hooked up the adfitional battery to the delta 2 1st once i had each unit placed where they were just close enough but far enough 4 air to breath between these units and they are solidly connected using the cord which came w/the additional battery and i plugged the unit into the wall as the #8cord,so it appears 2b,makes it possible,so supposed to in my case,to have both units work in tandem as one or seriesed together to give the delta 2 an additional 1024watts of backup power...well,the main unit is simply not able 2 recognize the additional battery so i have no idea what the problem is as 2 WHY ITS NOT BEING RECOGNIZED GIVEN ITS ATTACHED...AND NOT SHOWING THE EXTRA BATTERY CHARGING....ANY POINTERS AS TO MY PROBLEM??? i bought this to run my medical equipment when power goes out....
Great review. Looks like a very good product. Like the fact they finally went to Lithium Iron Phosphate. One question. What is the power limit of the UPS mode? I assume it is the same as the power charging as plugging it in to the AC outlet. Please verify this. Thanks.
Well these do literal pass through charging, so if you are charging and pulling power it totals up all the wattage over 1200w, so charging at 1200watts plus whatever your load is it will go high. Ecoflow power stations are some of the only power stations with true pass through charging.
Excellent review! I will seriously consider getting one. As usual, I am extremely disappointed in the liar-label on capacity, but it otherwise appears to check all the boxes, including the 500W charge rate on solar.
I don't think they are lying on capacity - the battery cells are rated at 1024wh but there will always be losses with batteries as you pull power from them and convert it into AC power or step down the battery voltage from 48v to 12v. 20% losses are the average in the industry and this is a bit above that.
@@todd.parker That's a move that not many people have noticed or might not even care. They used to be real heavy, now they're lighter than all of them. Less battery, more voltage. I've definitely noticed the loss in conversion. I lose 60 watts an hour with my Bluetti. It's enough to make me reconsider keeping something running 24/7. I think the issue, if there is one, would be that this unit is less efficient than other Ecoflow products.
Hi all, So....I have a hack that I literally just thought of for people who can't afford another Delta Pro or extra battery BUT need additional power and own another ecoflow battery. I have called ecoflow and given them the idea as well and they confirmed that it will in fact work!! I then asked them why they don't tell everyone after I've told them and they said they would "escalate the idea" to their top tier and perhaps add it to their FAQs. So here's the idea: We've been told that you must have like systems in order to use them together. This is NOT actually true. If your Delta Pro is low on power (or any other ecoflow system you have) you can simply plug its charging cable (in the rear) into the front of the secondary system. In other words you're using the second system as a wall outlet of sorts. This works especially well in the evening when the sun is down and there is no more backup energy. What do you do when the sun is up?...even better...plus the second system from the rear into the front of the Delta Pro. This allows the sun to charge them BOTH regardless of the differences of their capacities or sizes!!! The only word of caution they gave me after saying what a great idea this was, was to say don't forget to lower the charging speed on the Delta Pro once it's plugged into the front of the second system. Guys this means you can use anything from a River and up to charge your Delta Pro OR any other ecoflow system. If this works for you please like my comment and say "Thanks T!!" just so I'll know at least I was able to communicate something helpful to the solar community-especially since these systems are sooooo expensive!!
Hey Dr J' Very, very good information! Ecoflow is constantly updating their products and I appreciate your prompt dropping of these types of review videos. I think this is the combo I would like to use for our home backup system but the way my checking account is set-up 🤣😂
Great review Jason. Im having trouble deciding between one of these with the additional battery or just going with the Delta Pro. Can you offer any advice as to why I should go with one over the other? Thank you and keep up the great work!
@@Jasonoid Well, mainly for home power backup during power outages, etc. Even grid down preparedness. Would like something I can put in my truck though and take with me if I need to. Just not sure the Delta 2 can run a full size fridge, etc. for long enough in a multi day power outage...Thanks. Look forward to you response.
I'd recommend the Delta Pro if you're looking for that main purpose. This is more of portable unit for short power outages, the Pro is much larger and charges with much more solar.
Thanks for sharing this. I have been looking at this and saw another review where the EPS could not keep the computer running during failover. I'm curious now why that is. I'll be looking into this as it might make a good solution for the home office as well as keeping our fridge running during a power outage.
Are you referring to Hobotechs video when he tested with a laptop without a battery? I'm not sure if that's a realistic test since most people use their laptops with batteries. I think testing with a desktop is more realistic. The EPS mode will work fine with some devices and it won't with others. I think it worked with my desktop computer because the power supply has built in capacitors (like all desktop computers) that allow for quick losses of power. I think it should work well for any full size fridge and for most desktop computers. The only way to know would be to test on your specific computer.
Awesome review, Jason! I just bought the Delta 2 based on your detailed testing. I did have a question - is it generally safe to over-panel any MPPT-based SCC so long as you keep within voltage limits? I have a pair of Canadian Solar 455w bifacials with 49.1Voc, 10.96A Imp, and 11.6A Isc. I know I can't series-connect since I'd be way over the 60V max solar input on the Delta 2, but is there any issue if I set the panels up in parallel and feed the MPPT ~22A when the manual and label state a 15A max? I haven't been able to find the answer yet, maybe because the Delta 2 is so new. Any chance you tested over-paneling this? And would you consider adding a note to future tests for those who want to do so? You rock - thanks for all you do for the community.
It's usually fine to overpanel power stations (as long as you stay within voltage limits as you mentioned). Those panels in parallel would probably put out around 38v to 40v under load and at 15amps that will be around 600 watts. It shouldn't be a problem but I haven't tried overpaneling the Delta 2 that much.
@@Jasonoid Hey Jason! Just wanted to provide a follow-up here. I've been overpaneling my Delta 2 since my last message a few months back, and it's been going great. I did buy the Delta 2 1024Wh expansion battery from EcoFlow (refurb, from their Ebay store) to increase total capacity and simultaneously lower my charge/discharge rate to a more palatable .25C for battery longevity. Three notes I thought you might find interesting: First, under certain semi-shaded conditions, my Delta 2 somehow misclassifies the incoming PV power as a car adapter, and limits it to ~375w. Seems like it might be assuming a ~24V system @15A, but without this transient error, the MPPT in the Delta 2 easily holds at or just under 500w in identical conditions, so it's missing a lot (~20%) of power under the curve when this happens. Second, the "prioritize solar charging" option seems iffy, and won't always block AC input despite a battery level of >20%. Third, since the Delta 2 + extra battery seems to have no ability to balance SoC between batteries, automation options and charging inputs based on SoC become crude guestimates based on whichever battery SoC is higher/lower. I've seen as much as a 35% difference in SoC between the two batteries during normal discharge operation, which frankly sucks as it's either highly inaccurate or putting uneven stress/wear on the batteries, or both. This charge delta (pun maybe intended) persists even after some standardized battery SoC calibration efforts. I don't regret the purchase at all, and am largely thrilled with my first mid-level solar purchase, but figured I'd share the notes/nitpicks of someone who has been messing with his Delta 2 setup daily for the past few months. Thanks again for all you do, and kudos if you made it to the end of this novella :)
@@zeteclover great feedback! On your final point you mentioned your batteries don't balance out to the same level. I have also noticed this with my unit. I have a friend that says his will balance out. Maybe there are two versions or maybe a different firmware version that is causing ours not to balance out? For example my main unit will be at 45%, and my extra battery will be at 60% and nothing happens. I would think they would equalize or the expansion battery would dump into the main unit. My friends is different than this.
@@Jasonoid Glad to know it wasn't just me! As it happens, a firmware update in recent weeks now has my Delta 2 and Extra Battery largely balanced and sharing load/charging within 1-3% of each other. I'd recommend updating your firmware to see if it resolves your issue too. I also used to have an issue where my Delta 2 would become unreachable via WiFi (from afar) quite often, but especially anytime I tried accessing it after turning on and then off a VPN on my phone. In all those cases, my re-connect attempts were from a non-VPN route, but would fail. It seems Delta 2 is MUCH more stable with network connectivity now. FYI in case you missed it, the app also got a rework and new features such as "Energy Flow" and "Energy Management" feature that provides excellent visuals and more granular control overall.
Very nice Overview and good information on Details, thanks! Just one question: the two 12VDC 5521 outputs are rated to have 3A max current, your measurement was 120W output what means 10A. You know the reason for the Differenzen? Anyway I ordered one, looking forward to have it in my Handy!
The printed text displays 3 amps, but the power station allows 10 amps output total. So you can pull up to 10 amps out of one of the ports / all the ports combined. The 5521 connections themselves are not rated for much power or they will get warm/hot over extended runtimes. The safe long term limit for 5521 connections is probably 5 amps, so you could pull 5 amps from each port and be okay. Hope that helps!
Went to register it for the warranty and their web site said 24 month warranty. They wanted an image of the purchase order before they would complete the warranty registration. How do you take an image of an email purchase order from Home Depot. Did not get the 5% discount from the coupon after numerous attempts and decided to trust Home Depot and buy from them instead. Home Depot actually has customer service. EcoFlow have a strategy for customer support but it has been designed with something else in mind.
19:01 they did get it with the original EF-1500 external battery, it is a beast and still rocking away at my place. Regarding : When powering a large external load, will the load be shared between the two batteries so their cycle life is protected?
There are a lot of issues with this unit and with my 13.2 v standard it only has 77Ah battery ... Three Weize 100 which has cold temp shut off would cost about the same on the pre-sale and I get 300Ah .... Did you look at their list of 1700 or something ... Too little too soon for too much in my opintion.
DIY options will always be cheaper, but they aren't always the best solution. Moving around three 100ah batteries is a lot of work and isn't very portable. This power station is designed to be a small portable setup. The fact that this little box has the battery, 1800w inverter, and 500 watt charge controller in it is pretty impressive. This 'off the shelf' solution isn't for everyone, but it checks a lot of the boxes for a power station.
Awesome review Jason really well done. Looks like a great unit. Wish the UK price would come down a bit though, 1100 pounds here. Maybe they will try selling combo's for cheaper. Cheers
Do you have to use the Delta 2 or Max battery, or can you use something else? I saw a review the other day that left questions on those batteries. Thx!
Hi Jason, quick questions. I am in the process of building an insulated shed on my backyard to store my tools. I have a decent amount of power tools: drills, lawn mower, weedwhacker , blower, and would like to install a lighting. Do you think a EcoFlow would be able to power all of those items or should I look for a different option? Thank you
If those tools are battery powered it should be fine to keep the batteries charged up. If they are plug in tools, it's hard to tell since I don't know how many watts each tool pulls. You'd want to try to max out the solar input so you could charge it at the 500 watt rate.
i like the ecoflow delta but the cons are, it has only one DC output which is limited to 12v /10ah ,which is good to have 2 DC OUTPUT 12v 30ah in order to run dc fridge,dc fans etc the ups is mode is the second con,not good enough
Thank you for the review. Do you know, how loud is Delta 2? So far, I wasn't able to find a review measuring noise levels at low loads. I know it's pretty loud when fast charging and/or when pulling high wattage, which is understandable. I found a lot of reviews complaining about the noise (~ 65 dB). But what about noise at e.g. 100 W or 200 W load (e.g. working in small quiet office on computer)? Or when I would be charging it at the camping site with 500W solar - how loud is Delta 2 when charging at 500W? Would it be disturbing for campsites around? Thank you.
@@Jasonoid so does that mean don’t buy this model if I’m planning to cook using an induction cooktop at 600 - 2000Watts? I gather the noise would be unpleasant to the user and annoying to camping neighbours? Thanks from Downunder for the detailed reviews
@@surfinwaves4769 any power station will have fans that run when under a 2000w load, this one just happens to have louder fans. If youre worried about the fans being too loud, I'd look for some other options.
@@Jasonoid to help me judge the comparative fan noise, what Db did you measure please, above 600W for Delta 2, Bluetti 2000P and Bluetti 2000 Max? Also from your camping experience, would the campers either side of you be likely to hear the Delta 2 fan and be bothered by it? Thanks for your time in responding.
@@j-sonS in previous test videos he has plugged the power stations into a heater to test ups functionality. I haven't seen his video this morning, but as you can see from my testing, the UPS mode works just fine for sensitive electronics. My PC didn't turn off after testing it multiple times 🤷
@@Jasonoid This time Hobotech used a laptop with the battery removed as the test load, and it powered off during the switch. I guess his test unit may have a fault with its UPS relay. Glad to see your unit give better results!
@@j-sonS I think the differences can be chalked up to the different PCs and amps each used. Hobotech was using a really ancient laptop and Jason seemed to be using a more modern PC that maybe can handle longer power blips. Same with the amps - Jason's might just be better shielded?
It's also possible Hobotech had a earlier review model, Jason's seemed a bit better optimised with the car charging too. Maybe they watched Hobotech's review and tweaked a few things. Always going to be variations in units at this price too. Either way this is a great review video Jason thanks
I have the River Max and the River Pro with the extra battery, I will be adding this one to my collection in November, that is when I will have enough money saved for it . 😎😎
I have been using this one around the yard a bunch since it's so lightweight. For example I needed a bright LED work light out in the yard after dark. Instead of pulling out a 100 foot extension cable and running it from the house, I just plugged the light into this haha!
Jason, I’m curious if your default AC setting was at 50Hz, mine was, so I changed it to 60Hz by holding the AC ON/OFF button for 15 seconds per a Reddit post and it worked perfectly
Link to the exact Newpowa solar panels? Also can you link a proper fuse (I'm assuming fuse between the final solar panel output but before the delta 2?) Amazon affiliate link preferred to help the channel
I don't recommend putting fuses on solar panel arrays that are below 15 amps output so one isn't needed in this case. Unfortunately the Newpowa 210w panels are no longer being sold, super bummer! www.newpowa.com/210w-mono-12v-solar-panel
Can it be recharged with a gasoline generator while still in use? I use a Ryobi generator (1,800 watt) to keep a few lights, refrigerator and a tv when there is no energy from the power company. If I can use one of those to avoid the noise made by the generator then I'll buy one.
Can you connect 2 Delta 2’s together? I asked Ecoflow this question and they said yes but there’s conflicting opinions online. The rep I asked didn’t seem very sure of himself.
It would be handy if the Ecoflow App had a charging history / graph - a bit like the ones you get on the Victron app. Especially when you're using the bigger systems like the Delta Pro. It's just nice to be able to monitor your solar input and power draw over the course of a day / week. I've asked Ecoflow to add it to their app but do you think it would be possible to connect something like a Victron monitor / shunt to my solar panel and to my Ecoflow, so I can see the charging / solar history, etc? I know that probably seems like overkill, but it's the only option I could think of until Ecoflow give their app an update :)
The EPS mode will work with some devices and others it wont. Like in the video my desktop was fine but the monitor wasn't. Ecoflow products are always near the $1 per wh, so this one is near that price, you get A LOT of features!
@Jasonoid - Solar Power, Batteries, and More Thanks! Great Review! So many choices, now! Smh! They are spitting these generators out like candy! Of the Bluetti, Zendure, and this one ... which one do you think is the best for the money? Your opinion of course ... nothing official?
EcoFlow has excellent customer support and warranties. Each model has their benefits, this one is GREAT for portability since it's only a 1000wh device. I expect they will come out with a larger Delta 2 MAX with LFP eventually that will be better suited for homebackup.
We've just run into a HUGE vanlife problem with the EcoFlow units - the 12v output only being 10A across the range of their units! This was not powerful enough for us to start our Bison petrol heater in our van conversion, and something that Ecoflow seems to have glossed over and other competitors in the market have not (Bluetti and Goal Zero both having 20A or more). We are now purchasing a Bluetti AC200 Max to replace our Ecoflow Delta Mini.
@@Jasonoid definitely! The goal zero units also have a high power 12V output. In my opinion this aspect isn’t highlighted enough online, and seems crazy the Delta 2 didn’t see an upgrade in this area
Why does this thing say 16hrs for a car fridge? A 5yr old 500watt jackery can do more than double that. Can you test how long this and other power stations can keep your vl45 or vl60 going? Thanks
So if I can connect a lifoe4 battery thur car charger as long as I have fuse on the positive post I also fine your reviews some the best. I was going to get the river pro . Thank you
What are those 3 solar panels again? I can't quite make out what brand you say they are. I would like to use these for my Delta 2 with the Delta 2 extra battery.
