I got the Deebot when it launched with a promo offer of $550. It is phenomenal! We have hard floors and the mop function is incredible. We run it just about every day and our floors are spotless. If you really want a good clean, then do a bit of prep beforehand like move chairs back from the table and even move furniture around a bit so that it vacuums and mops in areas that it may not have reached normally. All and all it is incredible and rarely gets stuck on anything.
Merely FYI & by the way: Ours failed miserably within two months from purchase & after less than couple dozens of operations. Their so-called "main brush" disintegrated. It has lots of negative reviews on Amazon.
I don't understand why reviews don't actually show them picking up things like dog hair. Pointless when it's sponsored and the rooms look clean already 🙄
For the price it’s a big contender. I think I got it on sale for like 550. I know the Roborock is king but it’s way expensive when you add the bin. If the battery is to small for your whole floor plan do what I do. I schedule a few rooms then it goes back and then in a few hours there’s another schedule for the rest of the rooms.
Great Review!! One thing I would love to see Robot Vacuum reviewers consider is carpets with dark spots or inconsistent dark patterns. I have an older Deebot 930 and it gets stuck on one of my carpets often thinking the dark spots are drop-offs. I've asked Ecovacs to create a feature to turn off the drop-off sensor detection if you know the floor doesn't contain one (as in my case)...There's nowhere for it to fall...That said...I would love to see these newer vacs go up against a carpet with large dark spots (Size of a 45 & 33 Vinyl Record)...bounces around like a pinball as it keeps backing up, turning around and finding another one...lol.....I realize I can make the carpet a "no go zone" but that's counterproductive...
I just bought a deebot n8 + pro 2 weeks ago I'm still trying to connect it to wifi the software doesn't recognize my hub its a 2.4/5hz if you have any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate the help. I manually start the robot but other than the wifi issue I love it as you said worth every penny, we have 6 cats 🐈 ❤ ♥ in our house you can imagine the hair issues we have I manually start the deebot twice a day to keep up with the hair issues and mopping issues, my wife gives me some loving every day she doesn't have to clean, I even dust once a day and clean windows 1x a week all a fair trade its improved our marriage. I'm even loosing weight from the extra activity a win win for my wife and myself. My wife's sleep 💤 😴 has improved. It's great 👍 ☺
RU-vid reviewers of robot vacuums rarely talk about kid’s toys and how well the robot avoids them. It’s the most important feature if you have kids. I’ve dubbed our Roomba 860 “The Toy Humper” as it’ll only run five minutes before it finds a toy to hump. Not a problem if you don’t have kids… but if you have kids, you really want a robot vacuum because you never have time to vacuum… … because you have kids.
that is totally cool. i have a Roidmi Eve plus it has a self emptying bin, able to do multiple floor mapping. sweep, vacuum and mop. cost me less than 400€. however it's smart home integration is far from good, for instance it's being detected as a Switch/Light rather than a vacuum when paired to Alexa or Google, so i can't ask it to clean a specific area by voice i can only ask it to turn on or off. other than that works pretty well over the last 6mos.
Hey there, I have deebot t8 been shut down due to low battery and now can't charge it on deck. It's clearly mentioned o the manual that it should be on to get charge. Chicken and egg situation now. Can't turn it on to get it charged. I saw you know the brand and hope you could help me to fix this. I'm pretty sure battery is in good condition, the robot and battery are less than 18 months old. Anyway I can charge the battery by itself. I checked the battery it's a S10-L1-144-5200 with a port with 5 wires. I couldn't find a charger online for it. Would appreciate your professional opinion. Should I order a new battery? Is the new battery coming with a minimum charge, because if not that wouldn't help me at all. Thanks in advance for your time.
During the "return to dock to charge", does it charge just enough to go back and finish the job, then return to the dock to FULLY charge? I read about that but not sure which robot has that.
I'm definitely buying this one, but can we just reuse those bags? I'm not gonna keep buying bags, that's just more pollution and money spent... a removable bin would've been best.... hope they make that adjustment soon
I’ve it and using i tree months now, app do not have feature for scheduling clean. Also it is no different from Samsung robovac I have been using for more than year now.
Same only things like chip pieces or other messes from 2 kids. I think ability to clean is going to be most important to me if I ever get one. And why I've waited. Plus I feel in most cases you will want to clean under stuff anyway so moving it is just required.
Often times it will pick up most debris similar to cat littler (sometimes I have rock salt in the kitchen entryway) in one pass. However, the way the Ecovacs app is set up, you can program the app to clean a room in two passes instead of one. This will virtually ensure that the job gets done properly, and is something you will basically never notice. Whatever room the litter box is in, just set that room for 2 passes. Who cares if it takes 2 passes, right? It can do the entire job while nobody is even home, at least that's how it tend to be with my schedule. So I don't even notice... I just come home and it's clean. Also, it's proven to be quiet enough where I actually program mine to do a night time run in the kitchen only. Around 11pm it goes out and takes care of the entry way and cooking area in just a few mins. So this area is receiving 4 passes per day. The auto-empty station IS loud though, even though the vacuum is quiet, so this might not work for everyone. So basically, in my experience, 1 pass cleaning is irrelevant. My N8 Pro does a respectable job at that, and I simply program it to clean the high traffic areas more often if I'm concerned that it's not going to clear it all in 1 pass. I barely notice that it's happening since it always occurs while I'm at work, or while I'm in my bedroom watching the news before bed.
@@MusicMonkey5555 In my house it cleans more area than I would....it goes under sofas, dining table plus chairs....everywhere and more.....an additional benefit for me is that there is significant less dust in the rest of the room: on furniture etc....less dusting to do. (I scheduled a daily clean @ 4am)
Close but not close enough for me as it still caught the shoe laces and also touched the cord. Better than the Roborock, but not good enough for me to upgrade from my Roborock S6. I’m still hoping that Roborock will release a S7+ with the camera that the S6+ featured.
Thats cause it was running kinda of a worst case scenario on really high pile carpet. On low carpet or hard floors the laser sensors are even better at picking up small objects and avoiding them. The tech is overall better than the camera setups - i really like that it doesnt have to rely on AI pre-training for obstacle avoidance - no AI can completely cover all of lifes obstacles...at least not one that I've ever seen work perfectly in the real world. I honestly have no idea why Ecovacs haven't expanded on the laser sensor tech and went back to a camera AI setup for their newer X1 models.
Wait till you really start using their app, it’s awful… you’ll end up with a jumbled room mess at least weekly, and never use a single room at a time or you’ll loose you’re entire map. The mopping is good provided you spray some floor cleaner ten mins before.
when you move it to a different floor, you first have to roll it slowly on the dock and start smart cleaning....let it relocate, then send it back to the charging dock...than it relocates again and then it should load the right floor map...that works for me....when you just dump it in another location and start cleaning...it gets confused....it would be nice however if you could just point the deebot to where it is at the moment: load map A and start cleaning
I never really notice the battery, honestly. Worst case scenario, if it can't finish the job it will charge itself and finish it later. I'm sure that's annoying for some people, but in my case it all happens while I'm at work, so it doesn't bother me at all.
I schedule a daily clean @ 4am....2x kitchen, 1x dining room 1x living room.....when I wake up everything is spotless....dunno if she has to do some charging during cleaning....but who cares??
@@maasland64 Exactly. I have it do the important spots every day, and it hits the bedrooms once per week. You can even schedule 2 cleanings per day if you have a large floor space. It's pretty easy stuff, and it renders the battery very unimportant.
