A detailed comparison between the Ecovacs T8 AIVI and N8 Pro. Which option is better. I've put these vacuums through the gauntlet to determine which robot is better.

I mentioned in my previous video that the Ecovacs N8 Pro is Ecovac's flagship, but I was wrong, it's the T8 right now.
The N8 Pro is the budget version with a smaller battery, so it won't run as long, only 110 minutes, 70 minutes shorter than the T8 AIVI.
Both variants are similar in a lot of ways, using the same side brush, combo brush, dustbin, and motor.
Two differences: Front obstacle avoidance sensors and battery.
Cleaning performance results are very close and it shouldn't be a deciding factor. Watch the whole video to see why I picked the Ecovacs N8 Pro and why I think its the better option.

can you do review of t9 aivi? how their AI compares to N8 pro+? I don't know what to buy: roborock s6 maxv, ecovacs T9 aivi or Dreame Bot Z10 PRO? my priorities are obstacle avoidance, and no hair tangling.

Is it possible to put a larger capacity battery in the n8?

I took my old vacuum apart (Deebot N79S) after I retired it and before I gave it away. These batteries are all typically 18650 batteries. They're usually in there as some sort of pack combined together, and the wiring connector is built onto the pack. That's what would require some shopping or engineering skill. It should be absolutely possible though. My home isn't big enough to kill the battery on the N8, but I have a friend with 3000 sq feet who relies on the recharge and resume function. However, that function works just fine for him. It cleans while his family is out of the house and he doesn't even notice it.

The T8 uses a three wire cable and connector for the larger battery. The N8 uses a two wire cable and connector so it wouldn't be a direct swap.

I have the N8 Pro, the 3D object avoidance is too sensitive, and it often avoids phantom obstacles and does stupid start stop circles in the middle of the room no where near an obstacle. It does a good job avoiding objects but at the expensive of navigation efficiency. It would be good to allow it to be turned off and on depending on the room cleaning preferences (like suction power).

Can one of you RU-vidrs please acknowledge the fact that there is a Deebot T9 and T9+ out there that has better mopping, better suction, a larger battery, plus an air freshener feature. For some reason, the T9 and T9+ are not available in the states!! WHY??

I saw the T9 on the Ecovac's site, but have not seen it in Amazon. The T9 line-up has different versions based on my research, still contemplating if I'll do a video preview of it. But that's for the comment, appreciate the feedback.

My understanding is that the patent for the dual brush roller, which is owned by iRobot, is only allowed to be used by Ecovacs outside the US so that iRobot can maintain their market share over here. EDIT: Aparently there is a T9 with a single brush roller as well. Can't say why this model isn't available here, but it only has better suction and the air freshener. It doesn't seem to have the vibrating mop option and the battery is the same as the T8 with slightly lower runtime, likely on account of the more powerful suction motor.

I think you can, though the N8 Pro battery is smaller, so the metal bracket has to be taken out.

No. The T8 uses a three wire cable and connector for the larger battery. The N8 uses a two wire cable and connector. It might be possible to make it work if you know what the extra wire is for, but it's not going to be a direct swap.

Thank u for your review and taking the time to create it. I would like to inform you that these 2 vacuums do not share the same components at all for eg the t8 has a 1500 pa and the n8 pro has 2600 pa, the t8 uses a camera and the n8 pro uses laser 3d. So as you can see these 2 are miles apart and the n8 pro is far superior.

on paper yea, but look at the CFM, theyre almost identical so your pascal comparsion doesnt really matter. did you even watch the video, he mentions the 3d lasers vs cameras thing like 10 times. both have their limits and pros

There is also standard T8 with 3D obstacle avoidance as well. N-line by Ecovacs it's just useless imo.

I prefer the laser sensors over the AIVI. The latter has too many blind spots.

There is very little coverage of this. I bought the N8 before I knew this and I kinda wish I'd ordered the T8 non-AIVI instead. At least my house is relatively small so the smaller battery isn't too much of an issue for me.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Anti drop sensors keep this unit from doing its job. You will have to reset anti drop sensors 15 to 20 times in a week. You must be supervising this unit all the time, otherwise it will not do the job as anti drop sensors needs a lot of attention. There is no DISABLE OPTION feature in the app to disable the ANTI DROP sensors, and many people have been complaining about that issue since 2019. So far, NO UPDATES on the app. Another issue, the ECOVACS Deebot T8 AIVI Robot reset maps 2 to 4 times in a month, which is a headache. STAY WAY from ECOVACS products because it’s not worth it and buy a better well know brand on the market. I think this vacuum is like a test version to find out problems where people can complain.
