I have never subscribed to a " review" channel, nor commented on a video, but I have on yours. Most of the review videos out there are just commercials for the robots. Yours is very consistent in testing, useful and honest. Therefore I have subscribed and liked your video. Keep it up. Thank you.

I’m really liking my T20 to be honest, I don’t see an issue with not having an onboard water tank, it just means my mops get cleaned part way through rather than pushing dirt around with dirty mop pads. I also used common sense and put the station on a rubber mat so wet pads aren’t a problem. The app has frozen a couple of times, all you have to do is go out and then go back in, it’s not an issue. The robot cleans well and mops well, which is what you want it to do, I have no issues on laminate flooring whatsoever. No robot is going to be perfect and honestly so far, I can’t say a bad thing about it.

This is probably the best review so far I have seen for the T20 Omni. If I did a review, it would be this. You have noticed many of the obvious issues that most reviews (paid/sponsored) ignored or missed, especially with the app which is unacceptable for a device in this price range. Only thing different with my experience was the obstacle avoidance, which I have found to be excellent and better than the Roborock s8 I had for a while.
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews Год назад
Yea I was a bit disturbed by what I see in other people's reviews. I try and set myself apart by not taking sponsorships so I can say what I need to say. As far as object avoidance I can see where you would consider it better than the S8. When compared to the T10 OMNI and X1 OMNI it is overall worse than those which is the real issue I am pointing out although this model is cheaper than those. Tell me about your experience with the app please.
@BadgerBob

@@jamie.andrews The app issues are pretty much as you described - it often doesn’t update the vacs current status or just freezes, and the app needs a force restart. Issues editing the map. Strange and illogical settings menu, with options that should be grouped together all over the place. Also so bugs - my rugs (called ‘furniture’ in the app) disappear from the map sometimes when I clean a room that don’t have them in. The strangest bug is that if I set up a routine including the rug, if will change the rug in the routine. Sometimes to one is a different room. The most annoying thing is not being able to manually select the deep edge cleaning, it only happens once every 7 days on auto (or the crazy housing keeping option, that’s a complete waste of time. Also can’t save custom areas, you have to draw it out every time, and you can’t name rooms! Honestly, the amount of time I have spend messing around with this app I could have cleaned with the area with my manual stick Dyson. I have submitted bug fix requests and they even ask for feature suggestions in the App Store, yet they do nothing to improve it.

I’ve been using my T20 about six weeks now. In general, I am pleased with the robot, but the app is poorly organized resulting in it being overly-complicated and glitchy. I haven’t had problems with the hard floor pickup. I agree that it goes through a lot of water, even in my 1,200 square foot house. I find the unit doesn’t clean close to the wall as well as I would like, since I prefer cleaning room by room, and the deep clean only works in whole-house mode - another issue with the app that hopefully a firmware update can address. This is my first robot vac so my experience is limited, but after the steep learning curve (which the company does NOT make any easier, providing no documentation/tutorials) I do think it’s a time saver and worth the price.
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews Год назад
Thanks for sharing and I agree about the deep cleaning. You should be able to toggle it on or off per session. I don't clean my entire house at the same time so it is useless for me too.

OMG Jamie, I ended up buying one of these due to the available model in NZ, I agree with all the aspects you have highlighted. The only extra thing I would add would be how quick it goes through the water. If you wanted to mop your floor every day just expect to be refilling the water tanks every second day. Also maybe I'm old school by you can't remote control this unit, the only way to do a spot clean is via the app and drawing a square. In saying all this, I'm still happy with it but would like to see a few changes as you suggest in the firmware and the app.
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews Год назад
Yea it does go through a ton of water since the most water used is consumed while washing the mopping pads which is true for all other robots which have a self washing dock, however most of them have an internal water tank which means they can stay out cleaning the floors for much longer before returning to the dock to have their pads washed. Curious if you have seen some of the same issues with the app that I have seen?
@johnward6516
@johnward6516 Год назад
@@jamie.andrews Yep, (on Android) if I go back into it after a while I need to go out to at least the front page of the app and then go back into it see the current running status of the task it is completing. Separating rooms can be a nightmare, I also have one full room on the map and which is only coloured in 3/4 hence selecting the room only cleans the coloured area. I have noticed as well to use the robot both you and the robot need to have internet access (hence we are currently reliant on a web service to use this machine). For the water I was wondering if it would help to have a "Wet Mop" button and "Clean Mop" mode, where the "Wet Mop" uses less water?
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews Год назад
@@johnward6516 Every robot I have tested to date that has a self washing dock cleans the mopping pads before starting which I agree is a waste of water. Don't know if you have noticed but Ecovacs actually takes this one step further than other robots. When it returns to the dock for a final washing and then switches to hot air drying and you select another room to mop it will start washing the pads again! Yep it just washed them a minute ago and now it is doing it all over again ! Roborock and Dreame will reconize they just finished washing the pads and won't do it again.

To me critical is the lack of water tank and small hoover capacity. I have multiple small floors. It could not navigate a ramp I made. I need to drag the heavy bass station up the stairs to use it elsewhere for mopping, and hoovering works but tiny capacity. So on both counts, useless to me. I should have thought about that in advance. Disappointed.
@alexwingo8094
@alexwingo8094 Год назад
I own a T20 and I don’t find the onboard water tank really matters. For clarification, I also have a multi-story home. The main thing that is maybe a problem is the pickup performance. Cables are also a problem but there aren’t ever cables lying on the floor here. Overall, I am enjoying it. Yes, the app can be kind of sucky when it comes to layout and the room creation was a bit frustrating. Once you get past those the app is pretty good.
@richardplumb3713
@richardplumb3713 10 месяцев назад
how does it work for you? If you need to go take it upstairs for example, will it pre-wet the mops and then let you pick it up, or is there a process you have to go through? And roughly how many sqft/minutes can it mop without running out of water?
@alexwingo8094
@alexwingo8094 10 месяцев назад
@@richardplumb3713 Sorry for the late reply. Full disclosure is that since making this comment. I liked the machine but had a few problems with it. To answer your question, no it can’t pre-wet the mop pads like that. You can start it or maybe do a cleaning of the mop pads which would make them work. What I ended up doing is carrying the base upstairs. The base is heavy but manageable if you remove the water tanks. The square footage was pretty good. I don’t have exact numbers but it would be less than most other Lidar bots as the navigations is just okay. The other problem with the square footage is that it uses so much water to clean the pads when it cleans them that it runs out of water really quickly. It used over half of its water to clean the floor because it would go back every 10-15 minutes and fully clean the mopping pads. Another flaw with this design is the water is put down unequally and it puts down too much at the start of its ten minute cycle. Honestly, everything else about the robot was great. The pickup performance on our floor was good and we never had a problem with it running into cables. Now the final thing: we returned it because their new mopping system made the mopping pads fall off frequently enough when going over carpet. The carpets were not even very thick. My understanding is that they have since fixed that issue but I have moved on. Overall I like it and might even recommend it, but I would say be wary. The performance was great, the design was not.

I have the T20. And honestly I could not be happier. Yes it misses one or two spots, but 99% it cleans very well. If anyone is expecting 100% perfection, then maybe you are better served to get a hand held vacuum and mop and do the housework. The robot is still not going to get into places that are narrower than itself i.e. between the wall and the toilet etc. Thus still needs a human to get the house completely cleaned, to the level you want to achieve. I keep reminding myself it is not a human, it cannot see everything I see, and for what it is I think it is a great help for the most part. I don't think there is a perfect robot vacuum. It is all relative to what your expectations are of the unit. I really love all the features the T20 has. Yes, the app leave a little to be desired, but once it is set up (time invested), it's done.

Say “Hello Roborock,” then do your command. -60 °C hot water mop cleaning plus auto detergent tank (I believe) -Some water ppm sensor in the dock that senses the dirtiness of the dirty water being sucked up and adjusts cleaning intensity until the mops are cleaned. -FlexiArm that extends the mop pad with an arm to better clean edges. -Lifting roller brush, which is the first Roborock without DuoRoller that can lift the roller brush. -Auto empty intervals, set the amount of time you want it to clean before it evacuated and resumes. -10mm lift - 3mm more than P10! Things Roborock still needs to add: -Removable water tank (make it bigger too) -DOCK BUTTONS!!!

@@hirolau 99% of robots have the same heights they advertise for thresholds. A problem with testing is there are too many shapes and sizes to give someone an accurate idea of if it can cross a threshold. Often times thresholds separate floors of different types which only adds to the problem since I often hear a robot can go into a room over the threshold, but can't get out due to the floor being lower on the other side. Hope this helps as I have thought about testing this. My thresholds have never been a problem for my robots which does not help.

It tried to pull the nvidia shield off my console. It ran over the cat saucer, which if it had moiste food in it would have made a mess. I also had the TEO perform a deep clean right after the q revo and the eccovac dirty water tank showed the floor was still very ditry where the q revo dirty water tank made it look as if things were clean. I have not expieranced the issue under furniture, and it really does not make much sense as the T20 with the optical sensors are not dependant on a bright room or area like a RGB camera would be. They might be telling you something wrong. Can you tell me exactly what it is doing when going under furniture?
@RichyNeal
@RichyNeal Год назад
@jamie.andrews i though that too. when it goes under it will maybe get its body half way under then turn away. Interestingly it will go around one sofa leg, putting the robot under but that's the one near a light, the rest it will only go around the edge. I tried everything including area cleaning, remapping, nothing changed it. I even enabled vacuum priority in the object avoidance but this made no difference. My furniture is around an inch above the lidar, possibly more. There is a small sag in the material under neath but it is still well above the lidar, it's not like it's even close enough where it might be borderline. If I disable object avoidance it goes straight under without hesitation. I shared all the images and cleaning logs with ecovacs and the response was this "From the images it does look like the cushions sag down a little under the couch hence giving the illusion of an obstacle perhaps. Also, the clearance change and light change (which are affected when enabling/disabling obstacle avoidance) is what is causing the deebot to avoid the area when enabled. Unfortunately, there is no workaround at the moment for the situation. You could try to first do an entire clean of the map. Then once completed disable obstacle avoidance and send it (via the custom clean option) to clean only under the respective furniture. "
@RichyNeal
@RichyNeal Год назад
Also to add, I've had a response regarding the scrubbing of the mops on the carpet "Unfortunately there is unfortunately no way to disable this - as the unit is programmed to have the mopping plates down and spinning while the unit is returning to the station. It is unfortunately our general recommendation to place the station on a hard floor area." I think this is quite a big issue for anyone like me planning to place this on or close to a carpet. I know I could put something over it but my carpet is a medium pile and a protector wouldn't sit flat. Not only would it look ugly but it would be a tripping hazard for my kids

@@jamie.andrews my belief or suspicion is this: some companies make minor changes in an attempt to sell more units as most people don't take the time to research the product as you do. Prior to buying a insurance policy buyers should always read the exclusions first. Prior to buying a robot vacuum I believe it's important to look for weak spots cause a vacuum is a long-term use product. You found several that cannot be ignored.
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews Год назад
@@gwmattos I am not sure what Ecovacs is doing, but it is confusing to say the least. I also noticed many RU-vid reviews are paid sponsorships which is something I never do with robot vacuums. I do not want to be told what I can or can't say and I want to provide honest reviews. I watched 2 reviews of this vacuum on channels I usually respect and they made claims this is the best on the market.

I got the T20 and while it was a very nice upgrade from my T8, I felt there were better options out there. The auto empty station is huge by comparison, and cleaning it is annoying and unnecessarily difficult, and ineffective. I understand the privacy concerns, but just know that things like cords and even some slippers may not be detected, that's what I experienced. The mops still lower and spin while the vacuum is docking, and after less than a week, the ramp started getting super gross. The brush roll also got tangled with hair, especially at the axles. I tested the Eufy X10 and it was an all-round upgrade. Better navigation, removable tray in the much smaller station, and none of the strange quirks, plus Eufy does claim to protect your privacy and claims they only process any images locally too. And the brush roll has a detangling feature that worked really well. It even has a lower MSRP than the T20.

Have you had a chance to try out the Ecovacs Omni X2? I bought one 2 weeks ago and I am extremely disappointed. The mapping is absolutely horrible. I have mapped my house a dozen times and it is still no where near accurate. My Dreametech L10s Ultra so far out does the Omni X2. Would love to hear your feedback. Appreciate yourself videos!

@jamie.andrews 10 месяцев назад
The reason I did not release the video before now is I am working with Ecovacs to hopefully solve all of these navigation issues. Otherwise it ain't gonna be good. There are other issues that you may not be aware of as well unless you happen to test like I do. They should have improved on the round X1 instead of switching to a square bot. Dreame is not perfect, but way better than this thing so far.

The Reddit community is talking a lot about the P10 Pro. There are 5 key things that might come on the P10 pro: 1: Hot Washing. 60°C washing is expected to come on the P10 pro. 2: Built-in Voice assistant (Not confirmed). Like YIKO, but the Roborock version. 3: Mop dirt detection (not confirmed). Rather than a timer system P10 pro will sense mop dirtiness and will determine if it needs to return to the dock to wash. It better empty the bin too. 4: Mop stretch cleaning: mopping pads extend out to reach edges better. I’m not sure if the robot twists like the Freo does, or if there will be an actual mechanism that extends the mop pad out. 5: Improved Object Avoidance (not confirmed): Most likely ditching the Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance in favor of ReactiveAI (possibly 4.0). Video calling might also come but not confirmed. So Roborock (might’ve) answered the voice assistant prayer I wanted! They better put buttons on the dock tho…
