Counter: It can be both a children's song AND also soul moving, because one doesn't cancel out the other. Many songs sung to or by children aren't necessarily as light heartedly or silly as they first seem (e.g. ring around the rosie is about plague death, London bridge is falling down is about the Great Fire of London in 1665 as well as the tower of London) but they do have soothing melodies, hence for children. Not that they're necessarily going to understand the lyrics, but often they were village songs or folk songs, passing along messages. Great way to pass them along is singing them to people as children.
Absolutely lovely voice... I was searching for this song to teach 1st graders to sing it in a play in sign language, but needed a slow captivating voice to keep their attention and came across this gentleman and fell in love with his voice...
I came across this video and completely forgot singing it in elementary school choir until I saw the title... I remember all the words (like it's hard)
