Ed O'Neill reminds me SO much of my Dad. My Dad looks like him, sounds like him (with a New Zealand accent) and is around the same age as him. I never noticed it growing up, but my Dad shaved his moustache when I was 12 and I realised - OMG Al Bundy lol
If I could ever meet Bundy I would praise him. I know he's Ed O'Neill and he has his real life accomplishments that he would want recognized, but he perfected Bundy in a way that will never be emulated, ever. I can sense in his interviews that part of him wants to shed the Al Bundy image, but to me it's a compliment to tell someone that you were so good at your character you will forever be cemented as them. The producers were even against the creators picking him and he proved them all wrong. He's my hero, he's a legend. In my world, he will forever be Bundy. He's a representation of all the hard working people who know they will never go anywhere but still have the nobility to stay loyal to their lives and families. Bundy is God.
My life is better because of Ed O'neill. I can't tell you how many times I've felt down and watching this man changed everything. Still to this day whenever I need a pick me up, I know what to watch. It has always worked and will always work.
Ed O'Neil was also a real life good football player and he actually had a look by the Steelers of the NFL. He also did such a great job portraying Al Bundy, my favorite sitcom character. You can have your Danny Tanner or Bill Cosby I'll take Al Bundy any day of the week because he represented the working man who was a star in high school but he sold shoes and despite having a lousy family and job, he went to work every day to provide for his family. I also think more families are closer to the Bundy's than the Tanner's Ed O'Neill aka Al Bundy you are the man. Also, Ed O'Neil is a straight forward, old school American who is not a diva.
If you had worked with hundreds of people over the years, some of whom you hadn't met or spoken to for 30 years, - could you remember all their names at a moments notice in conversation? It's a very rare person who can.
Thank you Uncle Joe and Aunt Curly! Pretty amazing to hear Ed O Neill, maybe the funniest actor America has ever produced(no, that's not hyperbole) insist he's not a comedic actor.
I think it's about time those big studios start considering a MWC movie while this guy is still sharp. That should make them some money...Ed's a genius..
