John Harbaugh's transformation: from "huddle up...(bleep) you" to dancing in the lockeroom after saying the Lord's Prayer as a team. Both men in the story transformed mindsets and came out with a superbowl

I think he had to have that immediate mindset, he had to leave his mark as a HC and prove to a team consisting of two of the greatest players of all time on his defense the same way that a rookie player would have to prove themselves to an all time coach

ain't nothing changed why you think Ray said he won't coach the ravens under him he don't like his authority challenged and any great leader know just because you the leader don't mean your ideas is the final say so a true leader takes into account the ideas of the people under him plus he doesn't want to lose the locker room

John also talks abouts how he went into Baltimore with the “my way or the highway” mind set and the veteran players and culture really changed him, and now he’s seen as a players coach.. Baltimore has also been on Cutting edge when it comes to offense and defense, it’s no surprise Lamar and the offense is what it is now and also they’ve built a top 1 of 1 Defense which is both a monster in personnel and even more so scheme, running multiple fronts and coverages and continuing to switch it up every play

What an absolute blessing for Harbs to be able to coach a team full of absolute monsters on the field! Ed, Ray, T-Sizzle, Haloti, are some of the legends of the game. So, 2008 was a "complicated" year for the Ravens....Ed complained earlier about how he should have won "multiple" championships, that's almost certainly a reference to the 2002-2007 Baltimore offenses under Billick. Those teams were defined by great defense and terrible offense, (that was slightly more functional in 06 until the wheels fell off in the playoffs) Harbaugh's job was to make one, functional team out of a roster with a very unequal dynamic, so yeah, he came in and shook things up. But that's what he was hired to do. I love Ed Reed, but he can be a mercurial, difficult man at times. Just like he was on the football field, at times, you never knew what he was going to say or do next. In the end, all that matters is that Harbaugh stuck with Ed, because he was a future HOFer and was able to make things work. But you had NONE of these problems between Harbaugh and Ray Lewis.

Early on, the Ravens team Harbs inherited had egos and big contracts, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, and Harbs was brought in (and Billick was fired) to bring some discipline. The team has changed and Harbs has grown. I’ll say this - I think the post Lamar team has more a humility/ team oriented approach which gells a lot more with Harbs’ view of the world and I think he’s having the most fun coaching that I’ve seen. It really helps that the whole team is so focused on the ring. If the players are locked in, coach needs to do less.

Time to get rid of Harbaugh. 2008-2012 we get to the playoffs every year, Ray, Ed, Sizzle Vet leadership in the lockeroom. 2013-2017 we make the playoffs once after that vet leadership from the SB run is gone. In this clip Reed talks about the initial power struggle between the vets and Harbaugh and if you notice Ozzie is not going to part ways with somebody like Ed Reed. Fast forward to '22, we're having melt downs in games giving up big leads and someone like Marcus Peters voices his frustration and he's out. All year nation pundits said the only team that can beat the Ravens is themselves, and Harbaugh proved them right. I am just thankful it didnt happen in the SB.
