@@harrisonhazeldene609 Ok.Lets dont think about musical aspect.I know its just for explanation but i dont dont think that is right with musical aspect.
@Wilson Sc.Jordan Sounds to me like somebody trying to make a basic pop song sound complex "yeah, it's so simple you se that it's actually really complex and hard to do". Erm, not really mate!
can we just give a moment for the one who edited this video?, the music was great, and the visual editing for this is really suttle clean but really good, especially during the convos
@@maxotto9877 IDK why people say this.. But I dont really find pop songs sounding similar to each other ..instead metal songs sound the same to me . Maybe because I'm not much into that genre
werlox I feel like vox videos sometimes pack too much information in and the videos are at such a quick pace that it's sometimes hard to really gain anything insightful from them. But this video was much more easy to follow and simple
isn't that the case anyways? dude was trying to cut out human emotion directly stimulated by the shape of someone else. Objectifying.........I just want to strangle people like that.
Introgauge .C I really don't see the problem in "objectification" so long as its not the only thing that matters. It's a compliment if anything. What I mean is, if you tell a guy that he has an amazing build (ie; muscluar definition / skeletal frame / whatever you're attracted to) or tell a girl that she has an amazing body (ie; hourglass figure / abdominal definition / whatever you're attracted to), WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL??
Soumil Sahu just the fact that the dude says "felt, objectifying". If you listen further, he directly opposes the lyric. He is saying it's objectification.
Laura Bora - In an interview he said he'd split up with his girlfriend who had given him a Lego house set. As he was packing his stuff up to leave it fell on the floor and smashed to bits. He looked at it and thought to himself it was like a relationship. Where you spend time building it then something happens and it falls apart. That was the inspiration behind Lego House.
The Dude there is obviously a good reason. And it's been proven that some people learn and create better while keeping their hands busy, many kids are given putty and bouncy balls while studying and it's proven to help some people concentrate better. I still just find it funny lol.
Great work from the producers here. While they never abandoned the simple idea behind the song that started everything, they added enough stuff as well over it so there´s movement feel which avoids getting you bored while listening. Whenever I see the "making of" big pop hits like this that sound simple but at the same time really well produced and perfect in their own way, the hand of a spot on producer helping with those important details is always there. (And not only people are capable of grasping them at first listen). Good video!
I honestly think that the only reason this song is as big as it is right now is solely because it’s Ed Sheeran. His name is known internationally. He’s big. If this was made by any other artist just a tad bit less known, it wouldn’t have been as big. The intrumental itself is alright but I don’t find it catchy at all.
The Real Dirty Dan. Well, there might be some of that as well. If I´upload a song like this on my music channel it´ll surely won´t have this impact :) , but the media promotion around these guys exist because their songs ARE capable of being hits. If you want to look at it in other way, what makes a record company, media, etc. to choose this track to be promoted and boosted and not others? They somehow might see beforehand they can have a good impact when they are released (Althgough maybe not as big as "Shape Of You" ended up being)
Brian G. Well, music is, as you may know, quite subjective and if you dont feel the majority it is okay but you shouldnt start judging the music. And i disagree that the success is just reasoned with eds fame, neither is every song of him an enormous hit nor was he born as a famous singer and songwriter.
I love how the graphics easily tell what's going on in the song and show even people who don't know anything about songwriting can get where they're going with this. It's beautiful.
Well, I guess when you write and produce a song there are no guide lines or formula, you won't know if it will work and be a hit. In rocket science there are rules and procedures to have success in your work. I might be wrong. It was kind of a joke tho
Silvio Freitas it's funny you say that because, the fact it was a joke aside, when NASA sent man to the moon there was a lot of science and maths that they had to figure out from scratch. Probs the biggest achievement of mankind. Maybe Ed should write a song about it
Wait, you're telling me that within 15 minutes Ed Sheeran had most of Shape of You and you wrote the whole damned thing in a freaking HOUR AND A BLOODY HALF? Dafuq am I doing with my life? That kid is on a whole new level man.
Also don’t forget that they were three people to do it, all professionals. If one of them lost momentum the next one could pick it up. It’s like a spiral: if it works then we continue from that point and so on.
same here, I've never been a "poppy pop" kind of guy, but Ed is really good at it and also he manages to bring original things to it...what can I say? the guy has talent and it shows
@@maxotto9877 bro stop smoking that crack.. You do realise end sheeran writes a lot of songs for many artists including Justin bieber lol the man may not be everyone's cup of tea.. But he's a genius when it comes to song writing and performing!
The graphic elements of this video are so incredible! They make the music so visual and colourful and help you to see every single layer of the song. So good!!! Do this with more popular songs!
This video tell us that making a great song is not instant. It takes sweat, intelligent, idea, and high imagination. Maybe a lesson to all people who just cover, cover, cover without trying to make their own song.
Ha hA, did you say intelligent? Please refrain from using words you have no concept of. What is Mozart, Bach, Jazz, John Williams, then? This cradle stuff 3 cords and 4 note melody shows what low standard humans have now. This isn't music, it's seduction noises for mating dances., that is why millions love it, having no idea what actual music is. THen, Hypocritically saying they respect others while promoting and loving this music that objectifies women and reduces relationships to mere sexual vulgar encounters, laking in any form of fidelity or moral character. We needed another "Song" to tell us that men look at women's bodies. There are much better humans still today, just the millions are not interested in promoting those ones!
Ed Sheeran said that negotiations to add credit for the songwriters of “No Scrubs” - Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle and Kevin Briggs - began well before the song was released, but weren’t finalized until after it came out. “It just took a while for it to happen....The song was written/recorded and released close together.... they are similar in the prechorus
Actually Kandi Burruss (TLC) also said during in an interview with Bravo that both of their teams were in contact about the interpolation of “No Scrubs” before shape of you was released, but negotiations weren’t finalized until after it came out. so ended up getting more $ than initially discussed, since it was a hit song. tabloid gossip had just assumed it didn't happen until afterwards
I already loved this video when it first came out, but something made me want to come back. Whoever did the visuals for the music is amazing. Perfectly capturing the concept and feel of each instrument and layering it all together, while still including the interview footage. It feels like a piece of art by itself.

0:53 To go from that preset to the final version, so clean its amazing
This is the only BTS video that has actually showed us, artists trying out different lyrics. This is why I love ed Sheeran- he doesn’t care. He what’s you to see the mistakes because he isn’t worried about what we think of him. Brilliant.
as a late-blooming songwriter but lifelong musician I find this video inspiring and informative. taught me a lot about how simple layers can create a global superhit. Trust me when I say this stuff is not easy. Honestly the song itself isn't my favorite of all time but I can't deny it's been stuck in my head since I FIRST heard it. This video, however, IS one of my favorite of all time. Nice job.
This is the kind of video that is a lot much perfectly made. The graphics, chords, tabs, notes, everything is understandable. Thank you so much creators for your work. This really means a lot to music fans like us. 😄😄😄
Awesome to hear how Steve and Johnny contributed, and their anecdotes. Would love to see more stuff like this from the NYT. Music is about the entire journey...
