Brave reaction, dude. Never apologise for crying. The music alone was tear-inducingly beautiful, but when you bring in the mastery of the lyrics it elevates it to a new level. Just a richly emotive and cathartic song.

I lost my mum 16 years ago when I was 12. This song came on the radio the other day while I was driving. I'd never heard it before and I had to pull over because I was crying so hard. I've never heard a song that so perfectly describes that hole that remains no matter how much time passes. I don't think of my mum every day, I don't miss her every day. I lead a great life and I'm truly happy, but there are always these moments I want to share with her, people I'd love to introduce to her, moments I want her advice and things I miss. That will never go away and this song and Ed's voice delivering it is the musical embodiment of that ache I feel, whenever I miss her. I'm so sorry for your loss. It will never go away, but it will get easier...

I agree 100%. I lost my mom 7 yrs ago, dad 6 ys ago, brother 1 tr ago to Covid, and cousin 8 months ago to Cancer & Covid 8 months. We lift each other up, by sharing and supporting our Journeys through grief. It's lifelong, I believe, as grief is a form of love. We never stop loving those who have gone before us. Blessings to you my dear on the loss of your mother. 🙏💕 Mine was my best friend, as well as my mother. It was the hardest thing ever. No matter how old we are we always need our mother. 🙏💕

I know exactly how you feel man, I’m only 19 and I don’t normally talk about this but here goes. I don’t have any parents and it’s an uphill battle every day because one minute your okay dealing with it and the next you feel like you have hit rock bottom. I can relate so much to this song and supermarket flowers because it just describes what I wanna say to them if that makes sense. But we’ll done for getting through the video man, first time actually watching but I will subscribe and like, I just hope everyone doesn’t act like they know how it feels when they lose something if it hasn’t happened before, like honestly it sucks but you gotta love with it and show them that you can do it I guess, thanks man

Beautiful song !! "Bill Byerly" my grandpa passed June 27th of 2021. In the last couple months of his life, he was sick and in a lot of pain. He was in and out of the hospital. Therefore, I wasn't around very much because it was too hard for me emotionally. And with me living in Minnesota, him in Colorado, that didn't help. But I would give ANYTHING to have those "visiting hours" 😢💔 That one last chance to sit and talk with him. To tell him how much I love him. Going forward, I will spend the rest of my life, making sure that when he looks down he is proud of me. Proud of the man that he helped make me. I was closer to him than I ever have been my own Dad. Can't help but cry to this beautiful tribute. He wrote it for his friend Michael Gudinski, who in many ways was a father figure to him as well as a massive help in his musical career. He died this year and Ed travelled to Australia to sing this song at his tribute concert. It's on youtube. It's the most heart wrenching performance I've ever watched. You should look it up. The references to "her" at the start are about his new born daughter as well.

My aunt Lois Baker passed away on Thursday! So this does hit hard! I'm crying with you! And I would love to see your reaction to Shivers by Ed Sheeran! 1. Sorry for your loss of your dad. Not easy at all. I lost my grandpa last year very unexpectedly, around the same time of getting out of a toxic relationship and losing my beloved pet, and my job due to covid. All within 2 months. It seems like the universe won’t let us catch a break. 2. I cried too when I heard this song. It’s such a beautiful deep song that just hits the right chords. 3. I'm crying with you I lost my mother 6 months ago (November 5th 2021), and i had to be just a machine that works, because my father was just not able to do anything. I just started a few days ago to really feel that pain, and it hurts so damn much... that song just hurts so much... it's like "i dont want to hear that, it hurts", but also "it is exactly how i feel, i need that"

A friend in Australia played this on her radio show for me tonight, and it was exactly what I needed after a really tough emotional week for my hometown, and then finding out last night that my mother's long-time partner had passed away. The song also brought my husband and my stepfather to me for a few moments tonight, and for that I am so appreciative. I am sorry for you losses, but grateful that you found this song to help you.

Before watching this I heard this song for the first time It ripped my heart out 😪 I lost my older brother in April due to covid, he was my first hero, he taught me so much when we were kids, I miss him so much, its still so raw My deepest condolences to you sir 🙏 😢

I had to re-visit this reaction sweetheart! I saw it when it came out! I was so emotional I had heard it many times and cried so muchj I still go back and listen!!! I lost My Dad a year ago to Covid He was 73 his heart could not take it so complications took my Dad! We couldn't even have a funeral for him due to Covid and I was devastated that He was laid to rest without us! I miss him so much I would give anything to have one more conversation with him Thanks for your emotional reaction and I am so sorry for the loss of your Father!!!!! This song is for his music producer who passed during Covid.. He did a tribute at his producers tribute concert an he walked off stage crying.. So this song hits a special personal note for him.. Soulful, touching an speaks for many.. Ed is a blessing to our world

So 5 years ago my brother passed away and it was really hard on me and this song really helps me do still now i still cry when i hear or sing it and 3 years ago i lost my grandma and number 2 heaven helped me so visiting hours and number 2 heaven helps me really ❤

So Sorry for your loss & heart pain.I lost my Dad over 20 years ago,& miss him More with the years gone. My Mom died Right after The Ball dropped New Year’s Eve 1998,& I said my year could Only get better after that sudden loss-little did I know that I’d be losing my eldest daughter at 16.5years old, March 12,1998. My first reaction was to reach for the phone to call my Dad…& then my Mom.My Grandmother was my comfort for some years on, sharing the loss of her daughter even at the age of 63 years of having her, & the unfathomable loss of her Great Grand daughter, as 2 mothers. Now I just miss them All,& look forward to the day God calls Me home, to be with them all again. 🙏Prayers up to All who are missing their loved ones🙏
