The Nitecore P20iX seems to have been designed from the ground up as an emergency or "tactical" flashlight. Combining it with the Nitecore finger retention ring really does multiply it's capabilities, especially with used in conjunction with a firearm.
The substantial lumen output really does put it in a class of it's own when compared to other flashlights of similar size.

I have been looking at all the different flashlights this past week and I haven't found the perfect one that I'm willing to spend over 2k on, but I think this one ticks all the boxes. Thanks for the review

Another great review ! Any downside to the tailcap button protruding like that / not being shrouded, and inadvertently being activated while in your pocket ?

Initially I thought I might have a lot of pocket ND's but I haven't had a single one and it makes it much easier to activate with gloves as well. I like it. One down side I suppose is that it cant tail stand.

I saw one of yours has a black tape on the ring mount. Is this because its loose or unsafe, or its just for reinforcement but it works well without the tape? Can I trust the ring mount without the tape?

No, the retention ring is like a one size fits all so it grabs the body of the light in a a bit differently, so I just put some tape over it to add more security to it.
