I am a fan of larger Spyderco knives too. They always work very well unlike my expensive OTF knives. (Microtech) I have 2 and they fail to launch correctly one out of 4 or 5 attempts. My edc is a gen 3 Glock 26. People always tell me that I should get the gen 5 but I been running the gen 3 for so long I don’t see any reason to update. Plus why fix something that’s not broken. A knife 🔪 is a very important tool. Sometimes more important than a pistol. If I don’t have a firearm on me, I definitely have a knife.
Not a gun rotation, but almost a knife rotation :) As much as I like the ergonomics on the VP9SK, I think the ported G48 with the striker control device has the edge, particularly for AIWB carry. At least the Glock is only about 85% cocked, while the VP9SK is 100% cocked - without any safety - and pointed where I wouldn't want an untended discharge. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I changed up my winter EDC this year and I’m carrying the new Glock 49. I’ve added Trijicon suppressor height sights and a SRO on a Forward Controls plate. The rest is stock minus the trigger guard undercut i do to all my Glocks. I typically carry it in an Eclipse AIWB holster that accommodates a Streamlight TRL7sub. Sometimes I’ll carry it in a T. Rex sidecar with spare mag. Beyond the gun, I carry my Streamlight Macrostream USB and Benchmade Bailout. Occasionally, I’ll change my knife to a Microtech Ultratec with black body and black tanto blade when I’m feeling fancy. My carry ammo is 124gr HST.
@@MDpolo it’s a Glock. Shoots like a Glock. Maybe a little softer than my G19. I appendix carry is to the longer slide doesn’t bug me and helps prevent the gun from tilting outward some. I just got it because it was unique and I’ve been carrying Glocks for 15 years and wanted it.
Good review. I agree with you about gun “rotation” and not having a rotation of different guns for self defense. My carry gun is a Kimber TLE II in 45. I have two identical TLE’s with the same sights, same 230 grain JHP ammunition. I train regularly with both and shoot them well. If I ever had to use a gun in self defense, I don’t want to have to think about what gun do I have. I also always carry a spare magazine. Thanks for always providing good content.
I carry the VP9SK because it shoots like a bigger firearm to me. Accuracy, shootability, etc. The P365 is my motorcycle riding firearm. I need to start carrying a knife more. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Everyone is talking about the knives. I always carry a folder and a fixed blade on my offhand side iwb. I have a few depending on where I’m going what I’m doing. The devils elbow XL by tops and the mini 2 by stroup knives get carried the most. You could use a folder if needed for self defense but you are probably going to hurt yourself as well. The Otf will definitely break the mechanism or trigger the safety and then be useless. My spare mag goes in my pocket with a neomag. Pistol aiwb offset on my strong side. Cz75d pcr with a ton of custom work done on it. Then I always carry a light, small multitool, my wallet, phone, and a folder. Lightweight easy to carry in shorts/t-shirt and good year round.
Sig P229 (I have a 9mm and a.40/.357 models) for my winter carry brother. No appendix carry for me. I would carry your G48 over the VP9. H&K's are great guns but they tend to pinch my finger with the hump at the bottom of the trigger guard/bottom of the trigger while shooting.

Zero issues. To be honest with you, just having 10 rounds makes it lighter to carry. Sounds wimpy I know, but since I made the video, I’ve gone back to the S 15 mags.
