I've recently seen Chinatown for the 5ish time. It gets better with repeat viewings.

Saw the first run of Chinatown in the Miramar Theatre in San Clemente, CA. Sadly now closed. A spectacular film that has aged well

YES, Eddie!! '''Chinatown" has been my favorite movie since I saw it in 1974. I was 16, and I suppose I was close to having adult sensibilities when I saw it, and it had a big impact on me, as it did Eddie. Jack Nicholson at his best! It's a perfect film, as far as I'm concerned. It's so evocative of the late 1930s. The scene where Faye Dunaway is tending to Jack Nicholson's sliced-up nose in her bathroom and wind up in a lip lock is intensely hot in a real life way, IMHO! 🔥

John Houston directed "The Asphalt Jungle" in 1950, which is one of the greatest noir films!

The end of the censorship codes in essence ended the Glory days of Hollywood. Creativity was lost when realism came to the movies.
