One of the criticisms of the movie is that the songs don’t sound early ‘60s, but I think that’s the point. Eddie was supposed to be ahead of his time, so it makes sense that the music would be as well.

I saw John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band for $8.00 at a county fair. The movie just came out. I dragged one of my sons to go with me to see the!m.He was in 8th grade. He is now 45 and I am 70. I loved it.

Unfortunately have not seen Cafferty. I did however see Pink Floyd for $9.00 in 76. In 78, Clapton, $20 bucks. Just saw Santana 3 weeks ago, $50 bucks. I'm 66 & still going to concerts. Now I'm in a wheelchair, but it's NOT stopping me! 🎶🎶

I was born in 1980 and I remember watching this movie when I was under 10 years old it’s one of my family’s favorite all round movies and part two was even better. My parents brother and sister could watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it.After my older sister and younger Brother had their children they were brought up on this movie as well ,it’s a family tradition and a right of passage to see this movie as a family. My dad is one of 8 kids and one of my uncles looked lost like Michael Pere and had Bruce Springsteen‘s voice exactly the same raspy voice Springsteen with the mustache which he always had which me picked up when He was on the special forces stationed at Fort Bragg. The women in my family loved my uncle Fabian because he couid have been a Eddie and the cruisers look alike it was crazy how he looked identical and sounded just like Eddie from Eddie and the cruisers. This is back when the tv show “Tour of duty” was on in the 1980s that the intro to the tv show was paint it black by the stones and we also loved that tv show it just reminds me of the good old days when there was no worry’s past being a kid it was a beautiful time and these 2 movies were a huge part of our youth. Michael Pare did such a good job to paring his singing to Bruce Springsteen s voice that we always thought he was really singing. Now days you can pick it apart and see a few times in the movie that kinda look odd but who cares great performance. I also agree Michael Pare made his mark in these films and is an underrated actor. It’s Like Michael Pare did such a good job in this movie it’s like he can only be seen as this character the same way Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry Potter and it’s hard to see him as anything else without seeing Harry Potter. It’s like he did to good in this part, casting for the role of Eddie really just nailed it when looking for actors for these films. It’s rare to see an actor meant for a role and if the movie sucked all around it was Michael Pare being cast that made this movie at all and there’s notable actors in the first movie like Tom Behringer and the other dude that played cipher in the matrix part one who also is a good actor as well. I have so many memories of this movie it marked much of my youth and loved showing my friends who had never seen it. I love the mystique of Eddie’s character it’s the best part of the movie, they made him seem like you could only have Eddie but only on his terms so he was right in front of you but not touchable and in a moment he might just disappear into obscurity and you lose him. It really just created a great dynamic around his character, It’s like falling in love with the Music of Stevie Ray Vaughan and seeing his show the night before then you turn on the radio to hear he died in a helicopter accident. This movie always reminds me of SRV and the loss of what could have been,Stv was to great for us to have him long as is the case in most things. I can only imagine what could have been although he did leave behind for the world a true gift of music

It's funny how some things in your life resonate. They hit a spot in your heart and spirit. It is always beyond description. All of a sudden. Like when the Tom Berenger character suddenly gets that rhythm. That style of playing. It all gels. Eddie and the Cruisers and its follow up sequel had moments like that. More importantly, it had the music which rocked. Made you move. Joyfully. As a wannabe but never did musician I get those moments. That feeling in the music. That music. It is infectious. I love those moments when Wendell like when starts riffing on that sax. Almost everyone joins in except for Joe Pantoliano - who is always so great at playing a creepazoid character. I knew people like these folks. Who just lived for the music. Pare played his part perfectly. I also know that initial scene moment when Berenger hears the tribute band with Sal - which rings hollow compared to what he remembered - thegreat times he had, and the people he knew. Nothing beats those memories. And those feelings. Thank you, Armen, for this post.

Tom Berenger's second movie, following "Looking For Mr Goodbar" with Diane Keaton. Michael Pare "was" Eddie. That was the role he was meant to play. Think this was Ellen Barkin's 2nd or 3rd movie after her breakout "Diner" in '82. Michael Antunes, Wendell, the sax player, was a member of 'John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band', that supplied the Cruisers music. Love this movie.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band made two awesome soundtracks for both movies and a few others. Named themselves after the color on an old paint can "Beaver Brown." 😆

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band was my 1st concert. My parents took me to a bar to see them some time around 1996 when I was in my early teens, and damn they were good! Concert changed my life in how I experience music.

@@geoffturner441 There are quite a few in this day & age who are awesome. But too many are kiddie pop boring. Cannot really listen to the radio when every other song is Green Day or Weezer. 😶
