My parents actually met at this bar in 1968. Tony Mart’s in Somers Point, NJ, on a blind date. This is the real place and all of the biggest bands played there. The old timers in town all said this movie captured the era perfectly. My folks are both gone now but I can watch this and picture them being cool young college kids in the crowd.
A great song great ballad Eddie n the Cruisers is one of the greatest rock movie of the 80s that touches everyone's heart.😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
Because the overacting by the worst actor on the planet Pare) absolutely sucked to watch. The stupid exaggerated mouthing of the song's words just looked stupid.
@@Daniel-po8eb 😂😂😂😂😂 I agree that he was never slated to win an Academy Award with this performance, but c'mon, "Tender Years" is a beautiful ballad! The movie itself made be cheesy, but at least it introduced most of us to "John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band!"
I remember as a kid in the 80's watching this on HBO for the first time. My Father got upset I watched it so many times more over the following weeks. Every time is was on. Got me into music even more then I already was. I was 13 in 1983. I just turned 50. This song. This video. This movie. Is a classic.
You said your daddy got mad cuz you kept playing it over that was our first VHS tape when my dad got a VCR he played that's so much he broke the tape and had to buy another one..lol
I absolutely love this song cause it reminds me of when I was a little girl in the 60s. It brings back memories of my older sister and I listening to her records. A time of innocence
I saw John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band with my at the time fiancé. He kind of made fun of the songs and I nearly tossed his ring back at him! He heard this tune and changed his mind. He passed in 2005 and I just randomly clicked on this video and yeah, I'm not crying, you're crying. It hits so much more now that he's gone.
After 30 years plus after I seen this film, Suddenly this song comes into my mind today I don't know why, bought back so memories and still can sing along this song. ❤
I agree 100%. I am 42 and I love this movie. This is one of my favorite songs ever. It makes me remember great times when I was about your age. These are going to be some of the best times of your life. Don't waste them. Sorry, just wishing for the good old days. Like I said, don't waste em'. peace.
IM only 23 and never really new this song but i watch eddie and the cruisers all the time and its one of my favorite movies of all times.. And tender years is a great song make me think about my younger days and how they just passed me buy
Yes. My ex wife did not think it was too good and gave me that look like why are you playing this near our end. I was 5 years older then her maybe that why. Damn I miss us and how it use to be.
One of the Most Handsome and beautiful man of all time, in my eyes. Gorgeous perfection.100%💋💔❤️. Privilege to have had the chance to lay eyes on him as a kid and to this day. The gift of Art.🎼🎷🎶
This song takes me back to hot summer nights, youth, heart felt dreams...... Our youth passes so fast and can be the very best part of our entire life.
I remember seeing it when it came out. I was 12. Had an instant crush on Michael Paré., or "Eddie". I don't think I was the only one. Smoldering good looks. Forever immortalized as "Eddie Wilson", the mysterious rockstar who you want so badly to believe escaped and is still alive out there somewhere, too cool for fame, but still rockin small little joints all over Europe. AND he has a cool dog named "Elvis". 😁
"Eddie & The Cruisers" movies were part of my childhood in the 80s. Fantastic soundtrack with a realistic depiction of a talent musician dealing with life and the repercussions of being a rock star.
Michael Pare did an excellent job in the two Eddie movies. He was playing one of William Katt's students in the Greatest American Hero tv series at the time this movie came out.
I don't know how I missed these movies all these years, but I just recently watched them both and I'm very glad I did. Great music, both haunting and high energy.
Michael Pare should have got an Oscar for this role of playing and performing this song!! What a great movie from the 1980's ! ❤❤😊😊🎹🎹🎶🎶🎶🎺🎵🎸🎷🥁😁👏👏👏! I love it how it's filmed in that rock and roll era !! Michael Pare does a great job sing the song tender years!! I have the soundtrack on Vinyl record!! Eddie and the cruisers / Eddie and the cruisers 2 Eddie lives our great movies to watch❤❤❤😊😊! The music in so awesome 💯💯😎😎! Great cast of actors and actresses in both films!!
I just wish the younger generation will find a song or two that they will remember throughout their lifetimes. TENDER YEARS really says it all and brings back memories of a time I almost forgot about, a time in my life when things were taken for granted. My first love, family and friends. I married my first love and we're still married after 44 years but things are different now. I really do miss THE TENDER YEARS and apparently after reading the postings I'm not alone.
Wendell's reaction makes this scene work so damn well.. Eddie was getting into it and Wendell gave his seal of approval while the others were jealous, what a scene. Wendell was the true soul of that band along with Eddie, once he died it ruined them and Eddie especially. One reason why I love 2 is he gets another chance with Hilton who was just like him. Rick was his second Frank in his own way. Why I love 2 as much as this one.
Hi Wendell the saxophone player is also the original saxophone player from John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. He was lucky to be in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers
Years ago I saw John Cafferty at a free concert at Boston City Hall. It was awesome to be there for a live performance of the great songs from this soundtrack (not to mention some of their other tunes). They were excellent live; that sax player is something else.
When this came out I was twenty and god it is 2009 wow where did the time go. Remember seeing this in a great Art Deco Theatre with a bunch of friends and yes it was great to watch. miss that old hometown and those years of my summer youth. These guys still get better the more I hear it I miss those tender years.
A great movie and the sounds of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band are so ageless. Saw this flick in theater when it first came out. Even the 2nd one was pretty decent.Beaver Brown Band
Back In 1983 I didn't really appreciate this film 😔 when I was 21... But watching it back now I'm in Awe. Always loved Michael Pare, he did a fantastic job here as Eddie 🔥 🔥 🔥 As back then I never realised it wasn't really him singing.. Brilliant Movie 🎦 Thanks to whoever put this up for all to watch ♥ ♥
I love Eddie (Michael) this movie was so outstanding. I watch it alot. I was 23. And I still can't get enough of these songs. Tender Years. And the bands. All of Michaels movies are good. He is a Awesome actor. He take his career very serious. You are very blessed. Thank you.
This was one of my and my wifes favorite movies and songs. We watched it many times over the years. She passed on 6 months ago. Now, the lyrics will have such a different meaning for me. Thank you honey for tender years you spent with me.
I REALLY wish that when THIS song was released, they would have released THIS RECORDING (with the extended ending we have here!)! THAT makes the performance EXTREMELY MORE EMOTIONAL! (But, if they hadn't released the shorter ending, as the soundtrack album has, THIS version might not have been so special! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
it truely is onr of the best movies in the world i love the movie when he does th e music he puts emotion in it u get wrapped up in for ever when u hear it
It's amazing that this guy who I met at cooking school did such a fantastic job in this movie. John did so awesome on the music to both movies, they are my all time favorites!
Eddie wilson your my idol man i wish i could of been you man!! Man i think if they were still out and a real band i think they would of hit the top of the charts eddie and the cruiser, the cruisers you ROCK BUDDY!!!!
