From his 1969 album "I Love You" on the ABC label. Composed by Carl Sigman, Gen. Charles G. Dawes. The music "Melody in A Major," was composed by Charles G. Dawes in 1912 and became a well-known piano and violin piece of it's time. On March 4, 1925, Charles Dawes became Vice-President of the United States under Calvin Coolidge, till March 4, 1929, during which time the piece would be played at many official functions he presided over. In 1951, a few months after Dawes death, Carl Sigman added lyrics to the composition. It was recorded by many artist, but became a #1 hit for Tommy Edwards in 1958. It is, to date, the only #1 song to be co-written by a U.S. Vice-President.
