He is from carcer city and apparently he was responsible for framing James Earl Cash for murdering his wife and kids, a nasty piece of work that Eddie Low
"I am the best. I kick all the asses that play me. They call me the Janitor." - "Because you can't pay your debts and they make you mop the floor? Neverovatno."
Trevor is kinda sane, he's just a sociopath with anxiety issues. This man is a total freak, Trevor with his "standards" probably would think he is disgusting and that would offend Eddie, so he will try to kill Trev and that would end his live in a horrible way.
The fact that Niko is only really creeped out by Eddie and not completely terrified is a sign that he has extensive experience with the dark side of humanity.
He fought in a war, witnessed warcrimes, got betrayed by one of his own, killed, smuggled, kidnapped and sold people later on while looking for the one who "stabbed him in the back"... So yea. He did saw the dark side of humanity.
@@TheCybervoyeur in comparison to guys that lined up "15 children, all sitting neatly against the row of the church walls - each with their throats cut and hands chopped off"? If yes, it's kind of a 50/50. (While that act is arguably worse than murder, the numbers were definitely not as big)
if you love a person for his acting, you know he's good, but if you hate him for his acting, then you know he's great like Joaquin Phoenix as the Emperor Commodus in the Gladiator movie
Why do you think nobody's caught me since I broke out of the convoy? Nobody could think up a good name for me. "The Grim Reaper", "The Monster of Liberty City", "The Voiceless Freak", couldn't figure out nothing. I was able to cause all kinds a trouble round town! Police don't know anything where I'm from. They used to kamikaze into me for Christ's sake! Funny.
_"An update on the serial killer terrorizing the city: Police seem to think he's struck again! The reason: A body turned up with a note attached to the now headless neck saying, "I've struck again!""_
Eddie's creepy, child-like laughter and mannerisms pretty much show that he never developed beyond a toddler yet has adult hormones and physical capabilities. Mirrors a lot of dangerous, real-life killers.
Or hes autistic Hes smart enough to know how to evade police while acting like a generic lunatic who jokes around with cryptic jokes which normal serial killers dont do But then he immidiately gets disturbingly annoyed when niko said hes "not cool" which he took very personally because he probably took niko as a friend
@@DrHydra47No he’s not. Eddie’s behavior is not even related to ASD, it’s far close to being schizophrenic with psychopathy. Schizophrenic people during dissociation or even when not passing through their episodes speak of them in third person and has this hand shaking behavior. Probably the rest of his behavior comes from anything related to psychopathy. Certainly psychopaths can persuade and use their dark empathy (and other tools like the ones Eddie shown, to point out, social skills and manipulation) so can evade and manipulate people for their own interests. So Eddie really never considered Niko as his friend, it just held secret intentions against him, when Niko told him “not cool” Eddie knew that it shouldn’t be possible to continue.
I like how he struggles to carry the bag in the first cutscene, but he jogs to the car with the bag. When he gets out of the car he swings it around casually, then he tosses the bag with ease into the water
Characters like Eddie Low showcase Rockstar's incredible diligence in making a gaming experience that's rich in narrative. Even the random encounters are packed to the brim with witty, thought-provoking dialogue and characters that seem brought straight out of an A-grade Hollywood movie. Eddie Low is by far one of the most disturbing, filthy characters I've ever encountered in a video game, and most people who played IV probably never even found him!
@no info You clearly didn't play RDR2, which is the most contemporary piece of social commentary that i've seen in a video game SINCE GTA IV. Btw, i 100% GTA V to get the UFO scenes so dont tell me i havent played gta v
Eddie: "Eddie never jokes..." ------------------------------- 2 mins later -------------------------------- Niko: "You're making a litte bit uncomfortable, Eddie. I hope you're joking. Eddie: "Of course I'm joking, friend...." lol
Some of them don’t even try to hide. Discord, Tumblr, hell, even here on RU-vid there are plenty of commenters happy to over share their weird ass perversions with you
@@manny7662 Pretty sure most are joking, I've done weird shit like that quite often myself. Joke? Joke?! Rafox never jokes. Rafox needs to be taken seriously.
Tbf Eddie's eccentric characteristics make it well beyond difficult for him to hide his true colors. The reason he got away with his crimes for as long as he did was not because of his own competence but rather the ineptitude of others.
@@videodeposu8741 So you're saying a guy who kills people and never bats an eye then acts all casual throughout the entire game like Niko Belic is all good sun shine and rainbows.
It's because Trevor isn't crazy. He has an extreme anger issue and tends to resort to excessive violence and he really lacks mannerism. Despite all that, he still has a soul shown by soft spots he has on Martin Madrazo's wife and his mom. He also tends to feel bad about the bad things he did, like killing Michael if you choose the Kill Michael ending. As for Eddie Low, he has a serious mental issue and pretty much soulless. He gains satisfaction by butchering people. Gotta hand it to Rockstar, they really nailed his character, even though he's just a side character.
To add, I don't really find that logical to an intent, unless there is some kinda human emotion I'm missing out on. I've had countless moments of creepy shit and the paranormal but honestly I never go full blown denial over what I'm encountering, I'm content knowing I know something.
jeez, i don't know for sure, but i think eddie's the most accurate depiction of a real serial killer. it's crazy that people like him exist in the real world
I don't think he got scared. Freaked out, more like. Niko knows that Eddie has little to no combat experience. And Niko is loaded with all kinds of guns too.
@@Supernoxus And it's never explained how or where the GTA characters pull out their various guns, it's fine for pistols and SMGs, but AKs and RPGs? C'mon man.
@@Supernoxus I was just saying how it's unexplained on how the characters are able to hold various weapons in their pockets, but alas it's just a game.
"no, I'm from Florida" only time gta references a real state I like how this comment is 3 years old yet people still respond to it, I admit I was wrong but can we take a moment to appreciate how gta4 was so good people are still watching these videos of these characters
Sylvester Savage I've never noticed that before. The only other real place they've mentioned is London in GTA V, which makes sense in a way since the 2nd game was set there.
Isak Dahl you literally kill 100s if not over a thousand people for the mission. That’s maybe more crazy then randomly killing some people like Eddie implied.
9:32 Niko's reply to that psychotic megalomaniacal rant about rape and murder cracks me up every time. It's like he's only now realizing "there may just be something not quite right with this Eddie Low guy"
@@Milo-xb3gj was just about to say gangland murders, street thug shootouts and organized crime killings are way different from serial killers stalking and symbolically killing innocent civilians lol
I'd say it's because most of Niko's murders would be considered internal organized crime business whereas Eddie was targeting normal people (and the kills were a hell of a lot more sadistic in nature). Most people can probably name numerous serial killers off the top of their head but maybe one mob hitman, if any.
you know, he has the the equivalent of a myspace page on there too I believe he has some other blog as well I specifically remember him saying something on there along the lines of 'mommy doesnt like it when eddie gets the devil butter from his peanut' and a lot of other creepy shit about skinning different things it gives a lot of backstory about what his mom and growing up was like and shit like that I actually read all of it before I ever met him in the game and it blew my mind

+whatever57010 I just noticed you put that in the description. sorry I just thought it might be a cool addition to the video but its pretty much there. really enjoying your content though
I wish Grand Theft Auto 5 had more in-depth characters like this. You hear and read about him all over the news and meet him rarely at night, genuinely scary and very cool.
Rockstar has said that the more offputting characters in GTA IV were based on real people they met when they were doing scouting in NY during development. Background like this is why Eddie Low, albeit a complete psychopath, is one of my favorite one time characters in the GTA universe. Someone, who is possibly still out there in real life, inspired the character of Eddie Low. Its minor characters like him that really snap you out of the GTA illusion and make you realize that there's not too many differences between our world this manufactured one.
"He still doesn't have a nickname but we're trying a few out for size... the headhunter tops the list currently" "Last night a man walking out in dukes had his limbs stolen, but his head left on, making the task of naming this serial killer even more difficult" Genius
trevor is psychotic, but he has restraint and loyalty to michael and franklin. he doesn’t just murder everyone, and he has the principle of honesty. eddie on the other hand, is raw violent energy
50 Cent got shot 9 times at point blank range including a shot that went through his jaw and still fine, Conway the Machine got shot through the jaw and it came out the back of his neck and aside from mild bell's palsy, he's perfectly fine. Jaw and sides of the forehead are the worst places to shoot someone in the head you go for the T zone, back of head, underside of jaw, through the eye, mouth or nose for a guaranteed kill
hi. I heard it was possible to take Eddie's knife away. then he'll bugger off and send you a text. this doesn't complete the encounter and you pretty much have to return at a later time
@@user-ts6em3gv4t oh yeah the war niko mentioned was about that wasnt it (correct me if im wrong i dont know much about recent conflict in the balkans)
First time I played through the game, when he came at me with the knife he was fucking me up. I couldn't get enough space between me and him to draw my gun, then I was a hit away from death. I had to turn around and sprint away from him. I ran for about a block. When I turned around to look and pull my weapon the road was full of cars and I couldn't see Eddie. He was somehow still on the other side of the traffic jam from me. One of the drivers became impatient and drove up on the curb and around the other cars. Suddenly the music for completing a mission played and I wasn't sure what happened. The impatient driver had ran over and killed Eddie Lowe. I barely escaped with my life. I wouldn't get the satisfaction of that kill until my next play through.
I'd like to see this scene with Trevor. He just stares at Eddie, and the camera zooms on his face. It cuts to black, and when it returns, Trevor is trying to close the lid on a garbage can, Eddie's foot sticking out.
did anybody notice eddies fucking hands and fingers all spread and acting autistic? this is probably the best encounter and work of animation ive ever seen
