On October 15, 2017, TCM showed "Side Street" (1947) as its selection for its weekly "Noir Alley" show (Sunday mornings, 10 a.m.) Here is the intro by host Eddie Muller, aka The Czar of Noir.
Love your series. It is genuine, of depth and has an intelligence few others have of the nuance. Claire Trevor such an interesting woman - like Lizabeth Scott. I wonder what life experience such actresses have to enable them to bring such understanding and insight to their roles. I know that Barbara Stanwyck had a lonely childhood - wandering around the streets I believe, going hungry at times and entered a chorus line and navigated her way through by using her inner resources as she developed her own intelligence along the way to climb up the ladder with some help from a husband Eddie ? - can't remember his full name. What these women show is the guts and courage, self-belief - what an example! That is what it is all about - what you have to find in yourself to succeed and that is what it is still all about today if you want to live your life.
If anybody knows sex preversion (check spelling) it is me, myself, and I. I plead the 5th on my sex prevision perversion. I think I will play like LeBron James and jump from marijuana fiend straight to being a director with Woody Allen carrying my coffee as a key grip sleeping with the enemy. Justin Beaver will be type cast on my casting couch to play Pee Wee Herman playing with himself. That should win an Oscar don't you think? I smell Sweet Brown Sugar Cane Festival and Cisco and the Sundance Kid Film Festival. Pod Cast here I come. We will shoot the whole thing from old stomping grounds in Reynolds, Taylor County Georgia, home of Malcolm X's real father, Mr. Little. Mr Little is of no relation to the probably predeceased famous Film Noir actress, Victoria LIttle (a white girl attorney with flaming fire ant red hair) and Cleavon Little of Blazing Saddles Fame. Hollywood pod cast here I come. Brown Sugar always was my favorite song we will call up Mick and Keith and see what they have to say about it.
