I was honestly surprised to see that these two have a Support together, but now that I’ve seen it, I’d say it’s worth recruiting Lysithea to the Black Eagles for this alone. It delves into both of their backstories without revealing too much, it has both its serious and humorous moments, and the two really start to develop a close, sisterly bond without either of them breaking character. Overall, a solid Support!

It is my firm belief that Edelgard adopts Lysithea after the war is over.

The reason why Edelgard and Lysithea have white hair is because they lost their hair pigment cells causing their hair to turn white. In real life, everyone’s hair loses their pigment cells over time causing our hair to turn grey, so when a fictional character hair turns white it’s an indicator that their body went through something that caused them to lose body cells (i.e. advanced ageing or cell degeneration), Best example of this being Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul. Another reason for hair to turn white is because of Marie Antoinette Syndrome, where a person loses their hair colour due to intense emotional stress or trauma, which Edelgard and Lysithea definitely went through with their surgery and Crest experiments.

There's a comic where Edelgard lets Lysithea try on her crown, and Hubert smiles at their interaction. It's so heartwarming to see Hubert see Lysithea as Edelgard's sister.

Now I'm certain these two were meant to look similar with the white hair and pink/purplish eyes. Three Houses intentionally wanted us recruiting students from the other houses with character interactions like this that make such chemistry together.

Maybe the only anime game I've ever played where the white haired characters have white hair for a reason.

I really love the support conversations in this game, it's my absolute favorite of the modern fire emblems, they've really built interesting backstories for many of the characters that you only get to see by collecting fragments from each support, and the dialogue itself seems less forced, and always shows a glimpse of both characters natures, trully well done

Honestly, Edelgard telling Lysithea to "never stop fighting for your life", so that she doesn't give up and resign herself to dying young always makes me smile. Especially knowing that both Linhardt and Hanneman are both shown to eventually be able to cure their conditions.

This actually makes you understand why Edelgard chose war over diplomacy. It would have took long and she would have probably die before she see the world United so she went with the quickest road, war. Not saying what she did wasn't wrong but she clearly mean well. However, it doesn't matter if you mean well unless you do good.

Oddly enough, at least among the students in the base game this makes Lysithea the only non-Black Eagle Edelgard has a support with. On one hand that's... kinda wasted potential, but on the other it paints them in an interesting light.

I like how in these supports, Edelgard never explicitly confirms she's undergone the same thing as Lysithea. She just doesn't deny or mention much of it and Lysithea understands. Big Sis El is looking out for her little sister.

Very nice support aside, I just find it amusing that Lysithea grows slightly taller than Edelgard by 2 cm after the timeskip and she still gets called good girl. 😂

It's tragic how Edelgard still doesn't open up to Lysithea about her own hair, though Lysithea connects the dots. Man, imagine how terrible Lysithea would feel after the war when Edelgard would finally have to reveal the Agarthan alliance. Crimson Flower was criminally underdeveloped as a route, there could have been all kinds of events, character confrontations, and battles after defeating Rhea. Crests would thrive in El's meritocracy too.

SPOILERS I’m glad that marrying Lysithea allows us to save her life. But WHY DON’T WE GET TO SAVE EDELGARD FROM HER SHORTENED LIFE EXPECTANCY TOO FROM MARRYING HER? That’s not fair!

People talk about the white hair, but their eyes lost pigmentation as well. They're the only humans with unnatural eye colours, with those faint shades of pink & lavender.

Edelgard's lifespan wasn't significantly affected as Lysithea was because the crest of Serios. Post time skip, Alois mentions that once Captain Jeralt admitted to having a blood crest transfusion that extended his lifespan, which happens to be the Crest of Seiros. Which is Edelgard's original crest, the crest of flames transfused into her.

Ever notice that despite Edelgard having 2 crests as well she doesn't have the Shortened life span. Perhaps the Nature of her crests are compatible so she is spared the worse side effects.

How could Lysithea POSSIBLY get an A-rank with Edelgard after she made her troops basically diagnose Lysithea with CANCER? I really, REALLY wanted to make Edelgard my waifu, but then she ripped my heart clean in half by making it so Lysithea has only 5 years to live AT MOST. What Edelgard did to Lysithea was unforgivable. I really wanted to get married to Edelgard right before my trip to Disney World, but it looks like that’s not gonna happen! Forgive me Edelgard, but I want you out of my sight!
