Free TX16 Model: If you want I will email you a already built Heli model from my TX16. It will help your learning curve not be so steep, also it will provide less margin for errors in your initial test flight.
Hi Simon, I just wanted to send you a little thank you note. I have been learning about OT, then getting to understand that EDGE was the way to go. I have been watching videos for a few months now and finally decided to take the plunge. That was a month ago. I have been struggling until I - somehow - found your video. I had various problems that somehow seem to get intermingled and that made it very difficult to get to the bottom of those issues. Well, after spending about 1 hour on your setup everything is working and that includes the setup using the Spektrum WS1000 dongle as the interface with my Real Flight software (RF8) and even that worked - OUT OF THE BOX- ie with no changes. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G I am a fan.
Excellent!!! So glad to have helped!! I struggled with no videos when I first got my radio and now am happy to pass those trials and errors on to others, so you don't have to make the mistakes I did. Cheers!!
im getting back to helicopters coming from the old Futaba days. this helped me a ton, i appreciate the solid walkthrough on every little point. Great video!
Hi Simon, happy new year, love your vids, I just picked up an M2 and a TX16s that I've swapped it to mode 1, what settings should I look out for when setting it up given that its now mode 1? Cheers Simon New Zealand
I just went through this setup and then tested it on my Fusion 360 and it worked great (Needs fine tuning, but it got it up/down). THANK YOU!! A bit more info as to how to get the gyro to work with this profile would be great, as I set it to a 3 position and when toggled it didn't do anything.
The only gyro's I support are "spirit flybarless" and I do have videos on setting them up if search my channel. But im assuming you have the stock spektrum fbl that came with the fusion 360.
@@NomisRC Yes, that is correct. Do you know how to get this to work with Spektrum. I'm not looking for "Support" just a nudge in the right direction as in "Look into X" or "Look into Y". Because, I'm not even sure how to refer to that. But, being able to adjust the gyro like you have shown for a spektrum heli would be great! Thanks.
@diggler1288 You absolutely can adjust spektrum gyro gains the same way, ive done it on airplanes that have spectrum as3x stabilization modes. What is you flight controller? Is it the 6250HX? I do know that you will need a spma3065 USB programmer cable. Like the one I use in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g_l8CSznASo.html
@@miriamdiggler1288 The best I can offer is my setup on an airplane that i linked above sadly. I do not use or recommend spektrum devices for this specific reason. They do not integrate well with anything other then spektrum. And they built it that was on purpose. Sorry man I even looked for a video of 6250hx and tx16 and couldnt find a single video.
Hey, I loved your video. Thank you for the tutorial. I'm a little confused why anything needs to be programmed under Inputs>Throttle. When I download custom TX16S radio files from other people or use the stock templates for my OMP M2 EVO, no one ever enters anything under Inputs. I was under the impression Throttle Hold would work without programming it there? I see people program Throttle Cut under Curves. What's the reason for that? Is it personal preference?
My OpenTX Heli/Drone/Plane programming is all self taught and it probably shows lol, learned Opentx when there was no videos. So I may do things different then others. It's just how it worked in my head and then it worked in the real world as well so I stuck with it. :)
@@marksampson7652 This video here is EdgeTX, but for me they both program the same and kinda why I put edgetx or opentx for the title. You may see some visual difference if you have an old opentx radio, but all the menu's and items are label with the same names. I Do also have older OpenTX videos, but you wont need those if your already on Edge and honestly ill never go back to open.
I have a question. I notice that some people use the flight mode menus. What woukd be the advantage or disadvantages of using these Menu's over inputs. I'm still Green when using the Tx16s
Thanks! That's a very clear basic setup using the inputs etc, efficiently. For non FBL-systems, the 3 (120degree) and 4 (both + and x) -points swash-setups I still have to figure out the mixes. Makes me think about what's actually going on, nice thing to do. Still learning! Thanks again for the setup.🥸
The only time I auto is upon landing so this setting works great for me, but my settings def are not for everyone, feel free to modify it however you like.
You got this working right? Need to enable the "heli" page and set a CCPM mixing. Usually a 3-servo 120° setup. I don't think there is a wizard for this and it's more a manual procedure on EdgeTX than other radios.
Man. I flashed my T16 with OpenTX to start over on my Blade 180 CFX. Now I can't remember most of the settings. Could you send me a OpenTX for heli? Im thinking of switching to Edge eventually. Just want to get back up running. How do I contact besides comments?
Just shoot me an email, kuskye25@gmail.com, I dont check it often so reply here when you have emailed me. Then I will email you a opentx model otx file.
Hello. Thank you for making this video but unfortunately is doesn't seem to work for me. I am using a QX7/OpenTX. I followed your process and checked everything but all i'm getting is swash movement. The motor refuses to go into whichever mode and seems to be stuck on being disarmed. This is my first heli setup so i cant say that i have the most knowledge in the subject. My setup is: Taranis QX7, Goosky S1 with an RXSR receiver (set to cppm). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hello. I've managed to arm, disarm, and even program idle up 1 and 2. The problem that im facing at the moment is that the helicopter seems to be completely uncalibrated and veers off forward and to the right. The gyro doesn't turn off, thus pulling the heli to that direction (assuming that the gyro is uncalibrated from the factory). Unfortunately, i can't seem to find a way to turn off the gyro from either the FC or the transmitter (I've tried assigning it to CH5 and 7 with no avail. Banggood has not replied and completely ditched the case, leaving me with a heli that doesn't fly. Thank you for trying to help me out. I really appreciate it.
@@Hiko_shi If you aren't not using auto-leveling, and you lift off the ground flat, when you let off the sticks it veers off then its a mechanical setup issue. Level your swash again and adjust your blade tracking again. This should clear it up. I have good videos on how to do both.
create new model all that comes up is select a template folder. This then gives me Blank Model and no model templates found in this folder. Did I miss something when I upgraded to Edgetx 2.7.1? So I don't know how to setup for Helicopters on it. Pleas help me
Sorry I did not see this comment till just now. Yes that would mean something went wrong during the upgrade. It should boot up normally after the upgrade.
@@NomisRC Later edgeTX does not have any inbuilt templates or wizard .... what edgeTX people did was to program a basic 4ch model only ... so its a real pain now to set up anything different from a basic 4ch plane.
