I've been following this channel for a long time and I like it a lot! I own the R1700BT. I know that it has its defects and is not the ideal box to produce. But it helps me a lot! I've done excellent work with her! After you get used to working with her, the work flows! The only thing I recommend is to use a good headset to make sub bass adjustments.

The front baffles really make a huge difference in the body of the sound.

The 1080BT speakers are great for small rooms but not larger living rooms. I have the 1080BT in my small 10' X 12' computer room and they are excellent, filling the room with crisp, well defined sound. I have Edifier R2000DB in my larger living room (32' X 14") connected to my TV and they are amazing. I tried the 1080 speakers in the larger room and they really struggled to fill the room with balanced sound.

I read in reviews that R1080BT disgusting speakers, but their balance is good, and sound not bad. Thanks for comparsion again, Digital Stereophony :)

Nice review and test, but shouldn't mount the 1080bt at 7/8 inches near a wall? So the rear bass reflect have more effect, thats the ussual users confifuratiton for bookshelf speskers.

The Edifier R1080BT's are a surprise! R1700BTs with tone control used to match acoustics of the room will be bit more balanced I guess. Is their tuning very different from the original R1700BT? Is the Soundfield Spatializer like a "phase" trick?

The new R1080BT have more airy threbles and a more opened sound without being fatiguing. I think thatt they are very good indeed.

These little Edifier R1700BTs are wonderful for listening music, but unfortunately not available on e-commerce platforms.

Hello. Any chance that you would test R1080BT against Fenda R23BT? both black or white finish, both without mesh cover, both around 70USD.

1700BT has a better sound stage. Is it because of the port tube?

wow R1080BT i did not expect that, flatter sound, forward mid, very natural sounding. R1700BTs more boomy bass, wider soundstage, have an eq. so we can sett the low, mid & high, but then again 1700bts $50 more expensive than R1080BT here in indonesia. i'm still using my 11years old creative inspire 2400, still love the size of a small & hidden satelite speaker and big low sound from the hidden sub under my table...LOL

I have had the Edifier R1700BT for a year and I am satisfied. They don't have as annoying over bass as the demo shows. it will probably be that you can adjust their sound enough. I would like to hear a comparison between Edifier R1080BT and PreSonus Eris E3.5.

Listening very carefully on a set of Corsair HS70 headphones and the 1080BT sound closest to the original track but the 1700s have that better bass (The bass comes at the price of muddiness). I think, if you wanted the best solution, Edifier would have to make a R1080BT version that comes with a dedicated and well tuned sub. That being said, for the price, the 1700s are still the best buy with the 1280 at a close second. The 1080 lose out on value proposition but win on sound purity. You can get the 1080BT in black for about $350 CAD so they are not at all horrible but depending on what you want them for, the price could be considered a little too high. If I was going to just simply drop some money, I would go for the 1080 and know there is a little less bass. If I was spending more thriftily, then I might go all the way down to the 1280 but the 1700 look better than the 1280. Curse you, Edifier for making such a good but not perfect lineup of speakers to choose from! (I am still on the fence on what to get for my office/gaming PC room)

Is necessary Logitech Z906 VS some Edifiers

I have seen your content for over a year now. I can't seem to pin point which speaker you would recommend. So what speaker out of all that you have reviewed you'd recommend. I personally would appretiate it as I am in the market for a budget set of speakers for my computer setup.

Got 1080bt white today. To be honest - good, but nothing special. In my opinion, little bit muddy, but for listening of music in kitchen - great! 😊 Definitely not a HiFi, just little bit better computer spekares. Design-beautiful! 😊

Which is better for movie?

Tone-wise for room/PC Setup, definitely R1080BT. It is a price & electricity saver compared to a R1700BT which for me only has more bass, volume and wattage.

I think I'll still need a subwoofer, both doesn't go low enough, that's super importan for me when watching movie

1700BT win with ease. Better Bass. Better Stage. Better mid/high segment, cleaner & smoother and not as hard n dry. The 1080's are quite nice tho for their price and size. I'd like to see them taking on the 1280's. :)

I did know bass of 1700 that so so powerful so I have to minimize them.

1080 не хватает металлических сеток на пискунах и плоских пылезащитных колпачков. Не лишним бы было гнездо на пассивной колонке. Не думаю что это всё повысило бы их цену более чем на 3-4%... Понятно что такие недочёты только регулируют объёмы продаж таким образом каким это угодно ванючим манагерам

From the Edifier website: 1080BT "Enjoy a punchy low end that complements your mids and highs rather than overpowering them."

The r1700 is way too bright on its own (with too much bass, too), and this 1080 sounds even brighter... A very bad direction IMHO. It seems that they try to make competition to the Microlab B77, which is also a very bright speaker with awful, glassy highs.
