Hi folks - if you're just watching this video and have an Alexa device, you may want to mute the microphone or turn it off for the duration of this video. We make a number of references to Alexa which may set off your device. We apologise for this, it was an oversight during post-production but it will not happen again - and we hope you still find the video useful.
mate bought a new edifier speaker recently , its really good for the money - not a brand that gets a lot of exposure though on most places. good to see some reviews.
@@xXGEEBEEXx Hi, we do apologise - this is something we should have picked up in the edit process but unfortunately the Alexa references didn't get bleeped out. This is definitely on our radar now and we will make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the feedback.
This wasn’t covered in the review. Edifier missed a trick to ensure this was compatible with Alexa Multi-Room Music with other Echo Devices. Sonos can’t work in a multi room group unless all the other audio devices are Sonos branded; same situation with Edifier.
My issue with these smart speakers - including this model, some Bose, and all SONOS products - is that, after 10 years, they will be electronic waste. Why? Because they do not have additional inputs, namely: RCA, 3.5mm jack, optical, or others. With time, all those technologies - Wifi, Bluetooth, Spotify, Alexa, AirPlay, etc... - will stop supporting older standards. This will make older models of these types of speakers useless. This is something we should really pay attention to, because speakers are a very expensive thing. For example, I have plenty of speakers at my home, but ALL have alternative inputs. Some I have connected to TVs, through the optical input; one is connected to my computer via the 3.5mm jack; and others are connected to Amazon Echos using 3.5mm jack. I still have my two first Echo Dot 2nd Generation at my place, because they are connected to a good pair of speakers, making the "upgrade" for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th Generation actually a downgrade in terms of sound quality. On the plus side, the 2nd Generation Echo Dot is quite quick to respond. Spend your money wisely, even on these "extras" / pleasures. For me, music is a pleasure, and having Alexa playing music at all rooms of my home is a treat!
Edifer products are quality - always liked them, this looks like a good product - bit surprised you guys didnt bleep out the words to not cause people problems in their houses though. my wife wasnt impressed.

I'll never understand how reviewers don't have any courtesy for their listeners when they make videos like this. It isn't hard to say a different word, mute the word, or change the pronounciation.

The product itself doesn't actually have a microphone or Alexa functionality built in, only via the app on your phone..so it's actually quite good with privacy.
