Glad you all enjoyed my arrangement. It always gives me great pleasure when it does what it is supposed to. In fairness - This is one that literally wrote itself!
Guard of Honour. To Your Fallen Comrades, Present...Arms !! When I was in the Air Force Reserves, I had the sad duty of attending the funeral of two colleagues from a neighbouring Squadron who were killed in a light aircraft crash. This was the final song played by the band at the end of the funeral.
This makes me feel so proud to be scottish. I went to this tattoo and i was really touched by this. It was absolutely breathtaking and emotional :) Good work everyone fighting for us and putting your lives on the line. You are incredible.
I went to the Tattoo this year and what a -fantastic- performance the Coldstream and Grenadiers Guards gave. Such a powerful, political message but wonderfully done and much needed, I think. I loved the idea of having the COD in Deserts. Fantastic lads.
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary When troubles come and my heart burdened be Then, I am still and wait here in the silence Until You come and sit awhile with me. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas I am strong, when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas I am strong, when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas I am strong, when I am… ♥
I have been to the Tattoo many times and played host to people from other parts of our UK and further afield, how proud I am to see our troops play out a typical manoovre and to still be part of our special Union!!!!!!!
Long story - I started as a musician in an infantry band and worked my way through the ranks. It took me 18 years to get the opportunity to do this particular piece of work.

@MrGregMM Don't be. Someone able to write 'Provectus ut Vir' and to conduct the band of the Coldstream Guards should get used to receiving the highest compliments and the manifestations of the most sincere and shameless envy, like in my case. Happy Holidays and thank you for giving us so much enjoyment.
@MrGregMM Well, you could say that every great music writes itself like it was a dictation from above (see Mozart) but it takes a wonderful musician like you to write it down. Congratulations.
Thay say made famous with west-life. This song was created by, The Secret Garden. There realy is no other way to play it that the original. No one comes close to the original, its a master piece!!!
