Is January at all fun in Edinburgh? Watch this video to find out! I've included lot of fairly pretty b-roll to really get you thinking about coming over to the Scottish capital during what is arguably one of the emptiest and cheapest months to be here!
Have you ever been to Edinburgh or Scotland in January? Did you stay Storm-safe? And what is your favourite way of celebrating Burns Night? Let us know!

My son is studying abroad in Edinburgh right now. Love watching your videos because it gives me an idea of where he’s at without me being the nagging mama asking for photos all the time. Lol 😂

Hi! Canadian here, and I remember hearing about Gung haggis fat choy! 😂 And now I’m coming to Scotland for the first time in January, and I’m so excited to see everything and to celebrate Burns night! 😊

Thank you so much! I was pretty pleased with them too - courtesy of some very impressive morning sunlight we got at the start of the month!!

Catching up on videos, I am behind. First thing I noticed, the bowtie is adorable and that Hogwarts bag is great . I can deal with cold temperatures but I’m not a huge fan of wind although at this point I would probably just take a trip to Edinburgh whenever I could. Jealous of all your haggis offerings. I think I’d have to have a go with that haggis pizza.

Hey Kat! Canadian here, can't say I've heard of Gung Haggis. Interesting idea though! I'll have to look into it! I'm sure my Scottish family would be interested to hear about it lol

I believe it's a Vancouver-based event so wouldn't surprise me if it was limited to the area - after all... it's a bit niche .D

Hmmm... I think the no 1 thing to mentally prepare for is how short the days feel in January! It was very noticeable to me only coming to Scotland from central Europe, so it will probably be quite extreme to you! Honestly, it will probably be quite miserable weather wise most of the time BUT if you're coming for a month then you're at least giving yourself a good chance of seeing more of the weather spectrum and having some good days so I think that was a good decision! Definitely pack clothes that keep all the sneaky cold humid wind out!

I came here in January for my masters and omg the wind is so strong here

Sometimes I think the worst thing is how much I can hear it EVEN INDOORS! Second worst thing: no good hair days, haha

Elizabeth Fulhame is the most important Scottish person in history. She made critical discoveries around combustion and photoreduction. Not everyone can eat haggis or likes Bobby Burns, but we all need plants and oxygen to live.

What's the weather usually like in August?
@Kakibot
@Kakibot 2 года назад
Quite pleasant! Can be cool at night, definitely jacket weather when the sun goes down. Some years it's still a bit humid around then, but usually it starts getting less so towards september.

Whats the weather like in mid May like May 15th - May 25th?
@Kakibot

I generally enjoy May here a lot! Often more pleasant than the more humid summer months.

I remember my first time I went to Scotland, as we passed through Carlisle and entered into Scotland I was shocked to see the wild haggis and the Scotch mist, wee Jimmy Krankie was sat on the front seat of the bus singing glory glory Man United, what an awesome journey

You guys practically never see the sun, so it really doesn't matter what time of year you visit 😂

Walking in a named storm in North Scotland was invigorating and highly ill advised. We should have stayed indoors
