One thing about that subway mask shot, he also masked the windows where you see the skyline of Toronto. I live in Toronto, and we have no subway system that passes the skyline of Toronto like that because from that view you would have to be on Toronto Island. crazy ay

I would love to believe that his drone shots were shot on an Inspire, but in his latest video it is pretty clear that those fly through shots were done on a DJI Mavic Air. I have NO idea how he gets those crisp images out of a Mavic Air, but he is obviously not using an Inspire. I love your reacton video though, I reacted exactly the same. ;)

Hi I had to pause your video and comment. You said around about 2min and 34sec into your video that Sam Kold uses an Inspire but I believe he uses a Mavic Air. He has said that he prefers smaller and more compact equipment especially when travelling. Plus don’t think you would be able to fly an Inspire through small gaps. Liking your videos by the way.😁

Im always amazed by kolders color grading. Nice reaction man. Btw The wave and cloud transition, I already figured it out. Youre right it does involve masking and a lot of key framing.

With Mocha Pro, you can pretty easily insert those posters into the scene. Mocha Pro has illumination settings to match the scene when you insert graphics after you track. I'm not sure if he used Mocha Pro, but Mocha Pro certainly does things like this pretty easily. Especially a static shot like that one.

yeah man, that's a good point. I own and use mocha pro a lot and I'm confident that's what he used. I've actually seen screenshots from his stories before where he is using mocha. I think the thing that impressed me the most was just how realistic it looked. Especially with the lighting. Even with mocha, it's sometimes super difficult to realistically blend images together like that, but here the posters just melted onto the original footage.

@@andrewjmes Yeah, he did a really good job of blending it all together. But, we don't even know if he did, lol. To your point, they could have actually taped those posters up. Unlikely though, he probably inserted them in there. But, look into the "Illumination Modeling" area when you're in Mocha. You can select between Linear, Interpolate, Blend, Randomize, etc. Each option setting is relative to whatever the scene looks like. But, it's supposed to blend the lighting of the scene to the graphic insert.

Probably a pre recorded clip, same as the time-lapse of editing when he's sitting in front of the PC. As for exposure, the brightness of the screen is just adjusted to match the camera settings :)

The lightning was real, he showed us the shots on his insta story when he was in Hawaii. His friend, @valdays, also has an edit on his insta of the day they got those shots... It was pretty insane and I think there was a lot of ppl worried when they showed it

Hey Andrew i have some questions on using adobe premiere pro ect so i recently have shot clips but when i go and edit them the playback is very choppy to edit. How can i make my playback smooth ? I shoot in 4k 24fps and 60fps. Does it have to do with internet ? PC ? Ram ? File to big ? im just having huge trouble with it ! Please help thank you !

During the final shot, he could’ve just used a screen capture of him scrolling and played it while shooting! That seems more practical than mocha tbh. Just a thought tho.

I think I watched the video in the same way as you. Didn't notice the posters in the subway and rewatched the surfer/mountain transition 20 times. The video is so sick. But do you mind that the whole video is in fact an ad for music bed. Does this bother you? I mean the video is great. I really liked it and in the end i was a little pissed cause i thought I had just watched an entire ad for music bed. Whats you oppinion on that? Does this bother you? Or do you think its art in any perspective and you like how he combined the video with a sponsor, is this "creative process"? Should there be a sponsorship like this in videos like that? I'd prefere the Coffee machine product placement anytime. But its hard to product place audio... You should do this reaction videos more often! :)

Surfing while there's lightning isn't dangerous at all. I live (and surf) in Bali, Indonesia and people do it here all the time. I got told once that the salt in the water of the ocean absorbs the electiricity - though I am not saying that that is true, i have no idea. But yeah, people do it all the time. Also, rad video - I am glad you said something about Sam's color grading. I think he used to over do the teal+orange look but has definitely grown away from that over the last year or so.

@@andrewjmes no worries, thanks for another great video. I have a question for you - who on RU-vid is doing something really different with travel videos? Sam Kolder does them best and should never change - but then you have a bunch of other guys who, while they are making great stuff, Ben TK, Jr Alli and so on, it is all starting to look the same. This is why some are pushing into 3d. Such as the lock transition of Ben TK's and Jr Alli in his most recent video had a brick wall crumble transition too. I really appreciate and admire these guys pushing forward and trying to make their stuff different and hopefully they will reach an epic point, but do you know anyone right now that is really pushing boundaries and making different stuff of high quality?

Water leads electricity so if you are in water and the lightning hits the water then the electricity goes through the water and you get electricity in yourself it has nothing to do about more chanche of getting struck by the lightning.

I think that his color grading today (such as on this video) is not the same as a few years ago which have orange and teal way too dominant.. I'm so amazed by all the small details he did in this video, but what I don't like is that the video ended abruptly and without Musicbed logo in the end..
