This is literally the worst idea of putting nurse with anybody else on the D-core. The absolute problem is our top 6 has no confidence at all. The defense isn't as bad as we think but I know it's bad but we will come around. I hope!

Sir you just pegged me as a Goalie.My Dad took me out of Hockey because he was afraid of the other team crashing the net. It never happened to me ! Jr Sports is not the NHL you are making me so inquisitive when I listen to this Podcast Get it together Knobs 😅

This is the Podcast I listen to the most! With an offense that is so mediocre the entire game is falling on the backs of our DEFENSE . Oilers what do you want out of our Defense next? Do you want Stu Skinner to leave the GOAL and go to the blueline to score a Goal with the Offensive just staring at him “ Oh yeah we’re supposed to do that! “ 😆!

So if the offense was putting up 3 goals a game and still 0-3 because they allow 5+ goals a game is it still the offenses fault ? Defense and goaltending has always been the weakness and never gets addressed . . .

Overall yes. But in October there is more big scores than shutouts. This isn’t the playoffs. The oilers should win games in the regular season with average defense with 97 and 29 up front

@@jikoerThe Sens, just in the 2nd period of their weekend game against the LA Kings, scored 4 goals. The Oilers this regular season have only scored 3.

@@jikoer yes , they should , but they're not even getting average defense OR goaltending . Dudes blaming the offense , I'm saying 5+ goals a game allowed is the problem and that's on the defense and goaltending . . . .

@@EclipseJay the oilers best threat is their offense. I will continue to blame it because if Edmonton win the Cup it will be with their offense nothing else. 2023 VGK defense shut down oilers offense 3 of the 6 games series. Same last year with the panthers first 3 games 3 defeats 4 goals scored. Next 3 games 18 goals scored 3 wins and game 7 a low goals game and they lost. If 97 and 29 are top 3 best player, the oilers should scored minimum 4 goals per game even in defeat

@@jikoer Skinner was pulled multiple times against Vegas , doesn't matter what your offense does when your goalies getting the hook . The ONLY reason the Oilers even made it where they did last playoffs was defense , the pk and depth scoring . You'll forever be disappointed if you think offense wins championships , the entire history of sports not just hockey proves it .

agreed with all your analysis, but that only underlines that the SYSTEM of the Oilers, is not working, the recipe is no working. And that is on Knoblauch. TSN just said 'last year when Knoblauch joined, we said, the SYSTEM is not gripping yet', but now one year later, the SYSTEM should be the same. And even if you replaced pieces, the (Knoblauch's) SYSTEM should be the same. So, it means the Oilers have no SYSTEM, or no good SYSTEM, and that is on Knoblauch!

You are exactly right, the Oilers System is not being managed optimally, the Defense is collapsing and it throws off Gaps in all 3 Zones.The Backchecking Forwards are not catching up to the puck carriers because there is no Stand-Up defense slowing the opposition down for them. Thiss has been caused by a disconnect between the Offense and Defense.....one Group is following a Gameplan and one is being managed ON-The-Fly.....so this is all a Communications/Systems issue. Easy fix....Stand the Defense up @ or above the Blueline and let the hard charging Backcheckers catch up in time to save the day. I have been a Professional Online Tactical Analyst for nearly 2 decades. Its ok for the Defense to sit in their own corner to glue them together and to enhance In-Game communication in those moments , but everybody has to be on the same page in terms of Systems Management..... cut and paste this a few times and you will see positive change.
