I really missed brian doing the HIMS ad today, fighting a losing battle with not smiling ear to ear and face turning as red as the jerseys behind him is hilarious. Early season highlight for sure.

Im glad you guys mentioned how the goalie situation is a Steve Yzerman created problem. The goalies and the blue line are similar situations, a bunch of below average players that need to be shuffled around and used for roster manipulation simply because they are not good enoughle1 defenseman out of 7 is a legitimate NHLer and lets be honest, this team dosent have a legitimate NHL starting goalie. Bad signings and trades are blocking prospects.

In fairness, almost all NHL teams are up against the cap. NYR can't even sign their best player because they don't have enough money for his demands. And we're not the only team that is mediocre or worse. But I agree that it was nice having a lot of free cap space while it lasted. Especially because they improved a lot over recent years. Unfortunately we may be looking at a regress

Hopefully when he’s on the trade block or waiver wire again. He hasn’t been good even when healthy. We are getting better goaltending from far cheaper options.

Husso being down in the AHL gets you cap space and roster flexibility. I dont really care if he only plays every 3rd game, that's what he's earned.

I have thought this since last season ended. I’m fine with that. I want to compete for a cup, not barely make the playoffs and lose. I want playoffs, but I’m willing to wait if it’s best for the team

I give the wings 10 games and we’ll see how the season goes. If they are no better this year than last, there is no reason to think they will be better next year. I’m not particularly nostalgic for 1970s hockey, but when the 8 years turns in 9, 10, or 15, watching the games and following the team becomes more of a distraction from daily life than enthusiasm. Which means no merch, no going to the games, and limiting following games by watching the recap instead of subscribing to ESPN+ or Bally Sports.

I don’t feel bad for Husso, i feel bad for the fans such as myself who were fooled into thinking this was our “guy” for the foreseeable future. Just another horrible contract to add to the pile. Just like copp and compher, handed out $ hand over first to unproven players just praying one of them will hit. Husso was a backup that did well in the playoffs, never started a season in his career, and he played bottom of the barrel talent. Time to get real Scotty and Brian, Stevie doesn’t have the crystal ball. Tired of him bluffing in press conferences and being stubborn in the off season. Not gonna say that some of these contracts are tradeable, but christ almighty have we forgotten about the walman trade? It’s been months??? No answers??? He wasn’t gonna be here much longer let’s be honest, but we gave up a 2nd to move him??? Who’s to say that 2nd couldn’t have gotten rid of chiarot or copp or holl? Whose mother did he sleep with?! That cap could’ve gotten us Brett pesche or Brady skjei..even stammer. But then again what could anybody on the internet know about being a gm. My point is, no gm in the league is perfect. Times up Steve, after lalonde is gone it’s only gonna be you to blame. Cant give a defensive minded coach a heaping pile of shit and expect anything out of it. Said it last year and the year before, shitty contracts with shitty term= a shitty future.

Husso was a 1A starter for the Blues, he went 25-7-6 and had a .919 save % that was tied for 6th best in the league. He was only 26 years old, the Wings had Greiss/Bernier as a tandem the season before so Husso contract was understandable at the time. You don't like the contracts Yzerman has given out but you wish they signed 30 year old Skej for 7 years and 7 million cap hit? 29 year old Pesce 6 years at 5.5 million?

@@davidkruse4030 Did you even read what I said? On the 21/22 Blues Husso played 40 games, went 25-7-6 with a .919 save % that was tied for 6th best in the league. The Blues other goalie Binnington played 37 games, went 18-14-4 with a .901 save % that was 38th in the league. So you think that going by those numbers Husso wasn't 1A? Your a fool

Husso will only see time if someone gets hurt. He has been garbage. Soooo when edvisson Johansson pairing, I know it’s coming but how long will it take. Holl should be 3rd line ahl and petry might have some gas as a third pairing here.
