Edo State people should ask themselves before voting what qualifies Asue Ighodalo to be the governor of a state he never immersed in? Was Asue Ighodalo-the PDP candidate born in Edo State, went to any Edo state schools, lived at any time in Edo State other than the fact that his political career now brought him there? His only link to Edo State is his name-origin from Edo Central which he seldom visited in the past & from PDP. He was born & raised in Yorubaland, lived in Lagos State while sitting on numerous boards. That doesn't qualify him to rule as the governor of the state. He is more familiar with the way of life in Lagos & Oyo states & qualify to be on the ballot over there as a candidate not Edo State. But then again, INEC & Yahoo Mahmood is somewhere waiting to perform their Abracadabra. For Edo State to get who they voted for, they will have to fight Yahoo Mahmood, godfathers, & INEC in general b/c Edo State is a swing state needed by Tinubu in 2027...only the Yoruba states won't grant him the presidency so they will have to hold some states in ransom in other geopolitical zones & Edo State is one of those states if the Edo People allow them. A vote for PDAPC (the parties who did nothing for 25yrs & stole all the revenue) is a vote for TINUBU- a name that means Evil doer, greedy & inconsiderate, someone who steals & manipulates others & people are wondering what is happening in Nigeria when the man who leads them is living the true meaning of his name. The only reason no one is disturbing Olu Akpata right now is b/c everyone knows Akpata & Obaseki families in Edo State are blood relatives. Don't allow tribalism & zoning fool you all into voting for a candidate who did not grow up or lived among you at any point in time until he became a politician vs a man who did.

Why? Edo Central people put out a PDP candidate (after all their failures since 1999), a candidate who was born & raised in Yorubaland. He never went to any school in Edo State & his permanent residence is & has always been Lagos. He has contributed to Lagos economy more than Edo state's & is coming to reap where he did not sow b/c of being from Edo-Central? What qualifies him- don't tell me b/c he is from Edo Central b/c he is just the wrong candidate for all the wrong reasons & representing a party that ruined the state in the 1st place. I know Late Justice Ephraim O. Akpata (1st INEC chairman of Nigeria) & i also know Obaseki & Akpata are related by blood...solely the reason why no one is trying to hurt him like they will do other LP candidates in other states.

Ned what you said is so true. The question Edolites need to ask themselves is, has the current PDP party fulfilled their promises? If yes, go ahead and continue. If no, then vote otherwise, simple. OBIDIENTS must come together and agree on a candidate, otherwise what happened in Enugu may happen in Edo.

All three senatorial districts in Edo State agreed that Edo Central would have their turn as governor in 2024 given we have not really had one throughout the new democracy that started 25 years ago. Edo Central had been complaining of not receiving adequate support and attention from the state government. Everyone agreed, and that was the direction the state was in. It’s not only Edo Central advocating for it but the entire state. I was surprised that Labor Party elected not to go along with current political climate of the state. They are changing the direction.
Peter Obi is not on the ballot in Edo State for governor. The Labour Party shot itself in the foot by choosing a wrong candidate. Augustus Aikhomu, a man with vision competently worked With IBB to create Edo State. Some Incompetent people from some part of the state has held the state backward for the past 25 years. APC or PDP is obvious to INEC in this case.
