I remember when I was in elementary school this song came out, it was really horror song for me as a kid. Still today, 20 years later it still gives chills and goosebumps :D Whole album was great, I remember having it on cassette tape. Haven't listened to song in ages it really brings memories. Edo is really good story teller. Listen to "Saletova Osveta" great story about troublesome young kid.
Nikada oni nece moci shvatiti edu.
Iskren pozdrav
Edo maajka is story telling genus. This song about him going to home after he have night of drinks, and on his way home he started to hear and see "Silhouette" as you read it on Google translation. More accurate translation would be "spooks" (ghosts, spirits, etc...). It's sad that there is language barrier, this song is much more complex in original language, and he use a lot of specific words like kum (best man, like on wedding, but it can also mean godfather)
Finally some Edo Maajka! Thank you 🥳😁 This was a great storytelling at the time nobody was doing it like Edo. And the Eminem influence was 100%. He just didn't want to be compared to him. I hope the song "Mahir i Alma" is on the playlist! 👋
The spirit of the Eminem lyric is not so much that he wants to say he hates Eminem. It's just that it fits neatly in his lyric with encountering an American base and Eminem being American. It's as if to say "You can be obsessed with Eminem but I'm right here in a small irrelevant country and I'm just as good but you'll never know because I'm not one of you and rap in a different language".
This is true story. I live in Brcko and I was walking the same damn road as a teenager and it's not nice experience at all. Nowdays there's some fabrics and the road has lights, earlier it was really spooky. Especially that area around abandoned USA military base.
Having listened to rap from all time periods and in various languages, I can guarantee you that Edo Maajka is one of the best storytellers to ever do it. With that kind of skill, if he was born in the US, we'd be talking about Hip Hop Hall of fame kind of a carreer, no doubt about that in my mind!
Edo is one of the best story teller so far, beside that i do listen to German, English Rap (i speak both Languages fluently) and trough that i have huge diversity of different rap albums, but srsly, Edo is on another level.
I am soooo glad that you could recognise qualty from the first verse. Because of this song and Edo Maajka, Rap music became popular in Croatia. This song was made to get younger generatinos to like and start listen to rap music in Croatia in early 2000. And trust me, this song made the change in my brain, and many many others. And it is maybe the worst song of this guy, this master of flow and storytelling. Maajkaraaa jedna ljubav.
Finally! Edo is a true legend of hip hop in the balkans, search for more songs, he has a shit ton of songs with extremely powerful meanings or just irony, nevertheless here are some reccomendations Edo maajka- Mahir i Alma Edo maajka- Jesmol sami Edo maajka- Mater vam jebem Edo maajka- Reko sam joj Edo maajka- Obećana riječ Edo maajka- Nemoj se bojat Another reccomendation from me would be: cyam jantar monteniggers ONI Peace out and thank you for all!
And about Eminem, it was a joke because he was going through american based he decided to mention their best MC, he has huge respect from Eminem and obviously there's influence too, great lyricist. However, he said once in an interview, if it was german base he woulda say fuck "german best rapper"
Fun fact, this song and Mahir i Alma are his demo songs he took to MenArt record label. He got the deal and skyrocketed to the top of the Balkan as far as rap goes. Edo Maajka is one of the guys who put the rap on the map in Bosnia, and Balkan as well.
Best story telling artist in balkan by far, some of his lyrics ar insane and some lyrics like saletova osveta a and mahir i alma are just the best testimony of the 90's in balkan you can find in a song.
Edo majka is legend hip hopa na balkanu ,prvi je koja ga je drzavna televizija pustala ove pjesme ,, ovaj album prvi promovise hip hop u hrvatskoj wrili
Its really cool to see other people react and enjoy Balkan rap, loved the reaction keep it up guys . Dunno has anyone mentioned it before but also check out Frenkie another Bosnian rapper that is top notch quality.
Edo Maajka is awesome! He's probably the best oldschool MC of Balkan, this song was goofy, but on the other sides Edo did storytellings, rap about social unjustice, the politics (the balkans are fucked with the politics), afterwar (the 90s war) relationships and much more! I would recommend you this for a next listen ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xgrqp_bMfTQ.html ! He has been always an antifascist but he doesn't make any propaganda because he thinks that his views are just human, and trust me, they are:))
Edo maajka best of balkan, slovenia is not considered as balkan coz war................. i dont care i love everyone who thinks positive in balkan❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ try to translate and ask a bosnian how was it.... if you dare !!! Edoooo !!!! I blakanu mir ❤❤❤
Woooooord Mate reminds me also on some old Eminem stuff”spomenara”style 😂🤣😂 But Edo makes a good job and i like his lyrics 👍✌️🖖🤙as well Like always a damn good Reaktion 👍✌️🖖🤙 🙈🙉🙊 Greets and cheers MIK
Honestly Eddo brought me to hip hop. That album was a bomb. You should go thru it and listen.Too bad Bosnian language is not your native, but you still do good.Google translation is not accurate as knowledge of language.Specialy Bosnian slang.Cheers.
Idemo braćo. Svaki dan je leto, svaki obrok je gozba. Idemo, let's go... Beogradski sindikat Ljubav u inat. Hvala i thank's. And drink rakija. And eat sarma.
Edo "Mother" (with long "O" 😉), a living Balkan hip-hop legend, along other names like Frenkie, Marčelo, Elemental, TBF, Tram11, Who is the Best, Kandžija, General Woo, etc (the list is endless)
Wanna suggest one of my favourite Edo Maajka songs "Sve Prolazi" (Everything Passes) 💯🔥 Big ups on the vid 👍 first time seeing you, y'all had me shook in the beginning 😅
Lmfao it sounds so funny and wierd when u read the lyrics in English cuz if u could understand it u would see how it's so much different cuz the song is based on a true story how he thought he saw something like ghosts he was scared shitless and it's a amazing story. He is the best story teller rapper in Balkan
Hi bro's my respect🙏 EDO MAJKA🙏 the depth of meaning can not be translated in other languages to the core! Let me tell you! he is absolute perfection and his team!🙏 MY DEEPEST RESPECT TO MY BRO EDOOOOOO MAAAAJKAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
