I'd like to thank the whole Ricky Gervais Show RU-vid community for continuing to make all of these great compilations all of these years. I have been listening to them every night for what may be over a decade.
Been listening to this for 10 years to go t sleep and still do . Know it off by heart now sitting in bed laughing at you laughing at karl . Love the man 😃 . 🏴
@@benjammin9471 litterally 10 mins and out like a light . Have my phone on my head the volume down enough and a show thats got the screen blacked out . Its like therapy!
You guys are killing the reaction game, the quality of what you’re bringing with the great content. Love you guys. At some point you should check out Karl when he puts himself in movies, it’s great. Also his sermon on the Bible is pure gold.
When Karl says "if you touch a UFO you get done," get done means go to jail. Don't know if that's an expression in the US, but in the UK if you get caught by the cops/go to jail you "got done."
@@elliotm.4317 Lol! I like that better. X) And to Morbid Possum, no, "get done" doesn't mean go to jail in the US. It can mean various things depending on the context of a conversation, like get a makeover (get done at a store), be worn out (get done at work), or something (hopefully not a human!) gets cooked (get done at the cookout). It just sounds like nonsense in this sentence to us because we have no reference point as to what would get done relating to UFOs. :) Oh, and usually "get done" simply means you're finished.
Don't forget to hit the subscribe button if you haven't already and get Frank and Rondo to a quarter of a million subscribers! They deserve it for having one of the best channels on RU-vid covering all things humour and comedy.
What’s brilliant was this was all going out live on XFM in London on a Saturday afternoon about 15/20 years ago. It was long before Karl was famous as well for the Ricky Gervais Show, Idiot Abroad and all that. This was the legend being born basically
YES!!! I’ve loved these compilations for a significant part of my adult life. I also love watching you two react to anything. So this is basically Christmas part two for me. These XFMs are the purest form of the trio. They’re still getting to know Karl so he still absolutely astonishes them sometimes. Karl himself is also way less worldly so his personality is still quite raw, plus he’s much younger here (around thirty I think?) When he talks about Ricky teaching him about Hitler and Churchhill, that was a whole thing too. Ricky and Steve had discovered Karl never took his GCSE in school (which Karl thought he had and he was “gutted” to discover the results weren’t recorded). So they decided to teach Karl to make up for his missing education. Ricky have him a famous person a week to learn about. Sent him home with reading material and had him come in the following week to explain what he’d learned. The facts filtered through Karl’s brain were comedy gold. But, anyway, that’s what inspired Educating Ricky. Ricky and Steve had this whole project with careful thought as to who Karl would find interesting with homework reading assignments and summary conversations a week later. Karl’s answer to THAT was to come in with these “facts” to just tell Ricky. Karl is very big that education should be interesting, and he didn’t really find all the history they were teaching him interesting. So these stories are his idea of real education that makes the world more interesting.
Ricky taught Karl about Che Guevara, Hitler and Churchill and Karl will teach Ricky about "Hairy Chinese Kids." As for "Hanging Bacon."...because Karl said it was a play on words, what came to my mind is the infamous painter Francis Bacon and hanging his paintings...but Karl probably means strips of bacon, of course.
People very much did show off products in Victorian England as mentioned with the bacon. Famously pineapples were used as a big centre piece of a table by rich people at say a banquet, as back then people had never seen a pineapple. So it was a way of showing off wealth.
Well, he's the missing link in the evolutionary process from ape to man. Proof we once were all covered in hair before we evolved to not grow it on most of our body.
glad you guys fucking with the Ricky Gervais podcasts /radio stuff . in your won time recommend listening through the radio shows like you would podcasts
As a guy from the UK.. Watching guys from America react to Gervais and particularly Pilkington... is so satisyfying. This is what the Internet was made for.

Chewing the fat is a English expression meaning like they said talking to each other, and when Carl said Boswell instead of roswell there used to be a TV sitcom on over here years ago called bread, and the name of the main family were called the Boswells a family who lived in Liverpool lol and the getting done bit, is a northern expression manly as I use it getting done means getting wrong for something 😆 🤣, anyways hope this helps lads and great show as always, l love having a few spliffs watching your reactions too our British humour lol
i love that we're at a point where the non-die-hard fans are now discovering these XFM gems. i never would have imagined when i started listening to them 7 years ago!
For about a week, I tried falling asleep while listening to the Karl Pilkington compilations, but Ricky Gervais's laugh would startle me awake just as I would start to fall asleep. Since I have a two hour drive to work, I listen to them during my commutes between my job and home.
Love to see you guys watch some don rickles still to this day it’s some of the funniest shit I ever saw especially when he was on letterman w Denzil Denzil is almost crying from laughing

The hairy children story is very common in India, it's called "werewolf" syndrome or something like that don't quote me, but it is real. I watched a documentary on it & this poor little girl got all the hair cut & shaved from her face so she could have a nice picture taken 4 a school photo or birthday. It's quite sad.
Yeah but the thing Ricky and Steve doubting isn't that someone could have a condition such as that. They are doubting that they became hairy as they were raised by wolves in the jungle. Again being raised by animals is possible (and has happened) but the two are not interlinked which Karl believes in the clip
@@Bullitthiphop it's nothing to do with being raised by animals, the story goes they had a hairy baby which is weird to Karl bcoz Chinese aren't hairy, which is just rubbish. All I was saying is that there's a disease called "werewolf" disorder or something akind to to that & is more common in India. Have a Google search & take a look. I think you totally missed what I was saying, quite like Karl. Lol
I woulda thought if they could show idiot abroad then moaning of life wouldn't be a problem, but tbh I don't understand half the laws regarding copyright.
If you know. Ricky is posh, elite "thinker" 'in his own mind' and he is calling Carl pleb as he says only this has value. Refering to this story or that. Vain, because the point is Carl sharing his perspective. Diva don't get it. Now think educating Rita Diva. Is Carl that tacit and Ricky simply flaccid?. Too deep for the YT masses?
