Education for All? Literature, Culture and Education Development in Britain and Denmark

This ”Author Meets Critics” panel with Cathie Jo Martin, Professor of Political Science at Boston University, as well as a former Director of BU’s Center for the Study of Europe, took place on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. This event was a celebration of the release of Prof. Martin’s new book: Education for All? Literature, Culture and Education Development in Britain and Denmark (Cambridge University Press, September 2023).
Prof. Martin was introduced by Kaija Schilde, Jean Monnet Chair of European Security and Defense, Associate Professor of International Relations in the Pardee School of Global Studies, and current Director of the Center for the Study of Europe.
The panelists were Peter Hall, Krupp Foundation Professor of European Studies in the Department of Government at Harvard University; Michèle Lamont, Professor of Sociology and of African and African American Studies and the Robert I. Goldman Professor of European Studies at Harvard University; Torben Iversen, Harold Hitchings Burbank Professor of Political Economy in the Department of Government at Harvard University; and Aaron Benavot, Professor of Global Education Policy in the School of Education at the University at Albany-SUNY.
The event was followed by a gala reception in honor of Prof. Martin's distinguished career at Boston University.
