Getting to the back is one thing, but controlling it and effectively attacking from there is a different story. My feeling is that you need to be fundamentally sound and controlling, but also relentless with combining threats, conventionally and unconventionally. This video was filmed after my recent seminar at FX Self Defense in Sylva, North Carolina. Great times and great people. Big thanks to them for having me out. The instruction from the seminar will be available on my Patreon.com/knightjiujitsu.
Always be as safe as possible in training and competition. I hope these details help. Thanks as always for watching!

I can't even describe how much you helped me with my BJJ journey. Three months ago or so, I started my MMA journey and we are rolling two times per week on BJJ rules. From the beginning I was tapping almost all the time, didn't know what to do - it was a black magic for me. And then.. I found your chanel, sir. It was so game-changing that I didn't tap not even once for almost 2 months. Guys who had BJJ background for more than a year can't even beat me - which is crazy. Studied all your important content on a daily basis, implemented it on my game and.. What I can say - you are not Jiu-Jitsu Knight, but a Jiu-Jitsu King. Thank you for all the work you did for us, and giving that knowledge for free. That'd be an honor to be your student in real life. Greetings from the Middle Europe, sorry for my imperfect English (never spoke with a native in my life), and once again - thank you for all that work you did for us, King. Wishing you all the best. Chapeau bas!

This was a great insight into how to keep and use back control better. I've been falling to the choke side with the legs still across the way you have shown and have had much less success. I'll definitely be practising this set up in class. Thanks again Eli!

3:30 that is a sankyo style grip- it is from more aikijitsu style and is very effective. i often use that when i need kimura like control as it takes out all the slack in the arm and shoulder

Eli do you have a video where you talk about using jiu jitsu against foot stomps when the opponent is standing? For example using foot sweeps or main rating distance against a standing opponent?

This doesn’t exactly cover defending against stomps, but it has quite a bit for ground vs standing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FoIUnpm5Kmc.htmlsi=LYUUTSblaFJvIa2l

I continue to wonder why hooks are still the highest scoring position in ibjjf when its objectively the worst way to control the back, meanwhile far superior back controls dont score anything
@KnightJiuJitsu

Yeah, doesn’t make much sense at all.

I feel like it's only because it's a very clear and definable indicator of the back position for scoring purposes
