Efficient/Inefficient Tickloss Kephri Swarming(1-3 minute time save)(Examples)(OSRS)

One of the hardest parts of ToA for me is kephri swarming. I put together some examples for how I swarm the room for different spawns and that you can lose a lot of ticks but still get the boss to not heal too much hp except for the melee scarab. once you get swarms down its a pretty consistent 1-3 minute time save depending on whether overlords/draining is on
For lower invocations on 2nd down(without overlords) I would suggest voidwaker on arcane scarab 2x then bp/chins on swarms. you can just pray mage and usually tank around a 50 or if your able to get 1 fang hit after arcane teleports once. you can usually save 2-3 minutes with overlords off/draining while swarming

For 1st down swarms this method is consistent for getting the boss to 65 hp at 500 invo. You can also use the tumeken's shadow twice on the melee scarab which will decrease how much it heals kephri(heals less with lower hp) i would suggest getting the ranger first though then switching to protect melee if not trapped. Without overly draining on/Overlords you can just pray mage when the arcane spawns and get 2 vw specs/1 fang on boss(fang after arcane teleports). After you can usually swarm and get all swarms. There's a really messy example from one of my old 400s where i tank the melee scarab/arcane twice ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yvy6jNibUWo.htmlsi=-lI3SFm8qGUYx_FT&t=505 This kinda shows although not a good example that even at 400 invo its possible to ignore most of scarabs during the whole room when swarming. with melee trapped/overlords off you can pretty much consistently swarm both downs to below 100 hp

I use medium fuse which attacks 3 tick. Long range gets an extra tile but attacks 4 tick and when I’ve tried 1-2 swarms usually get boss to 100-150 hp. You can also use bowfa/crystal bow which gets the extra 10 tile range(9 tiles with chins on medium fuse) but attacks 3 tick and makes swarms a lot easier

Do you know whether on path level 2 it's possible to get 65 hp? it feels like the chins being slower than bp lets some scarabs through and im wondering whether swarming is worth it on 540s

You can get boss to 65 hp swarms are the same except you need to get 1 stack of 3 swarms with a chin. It makes it harder for me since I sometimes mess up lvl 2+. Just need to do the same thing in this video while chinning 1st stack of 3 swarms. 2nd stack of 3 can spawn but don’t need to take them out

Have you seen lakes no shadow 525s? The pathmaster 525s? If it were you would you start baba keph akkha and just deal with possible lvl 6 zebak, or just do a 5 minute faster 515 with finder, zebak salted. And maybr some chins is worth to speed up kephri greatly and overall conserve some prayer there

I’ve tried pathmaster a few times I don’t like it compared to pathfinder. I like to try to get lvl 2-3 zebak and lvl 4 is kinda ok but lvl 6 makes p4 warden a lot harder for me lol. I’ve been using a bowfa/sang setup trying to get under 40 minutes and have found not chinning/swarming to be faster than swarming. The melee scarab can take a really long time at 500 invocation and it can heal boss mostly to full hp. This is with overlords on and if it was off I would suggest swarming since you can save so much time. But if you do wanna save on supplies your really only saving 1-2 minutes for the room and a extra restore instead of chins can help a lot especially in 500s without shadow

does this not make the possibility of planking higher due to getting attacked by the melee? i tried this the other day and died to the melee

It’s a little risky you can wait most of the time 3-10 seconds and 2nd dung will usually happen so you can swarm just tanking the ranger.I’ve had around 350+ completions at 500 invo tanking the melee scarab and I’ve probably died around 5 times total from just the melee scarab. Torva also is really tanky for the melee I’ve tried this strategy with bandos(pathfinder is on since I usually turn it on when I do bandos/no shadow runs and the extra paths do increase damage so not sure how it would compare to lower lvl paths) and it feels a lot less consistent although it can still work. I’ve changed my strategy a bit for some of my runs where I keep spec until after 1st kephri down. This is because the bone dagger doesn’t have 100% spec accuracy when entering the room but for a few seconds after 1st down it has 100% accuracy. When I’m lower hp tanking the melee scarab I can keris instead of bone dagger but if I’m close to full hp I’ll usually spec kephri with bone dagger right after 1st down The method is a lot more consistent when I wait for 2nd dung or see how much hp I have after swarming
