Thank you for the video. Just an idea- remember Monte; a little push away at the top, trying to move the club in the other direction (not at the ball) will add free speed.

@@swisstrader Brendon has done a lot of videos with Monte Scheinblum, and I thought he might remember something that I know I’ve read (Golf Digest w/in the last year or so, I think) from Monte about getting some momentum of the club away from the body, and ball, at the start of the downswing. Kinda challenging to write about, sorry. It does work for speed and it’s not any real effort, so I thought I’d throw it out there. Ok, looks like Oct 2022 Golf Digest article- a google search of Monte’s name and Golf Digest article finds it. He actually adds stuff about wrist flexion, but I get a speed boost just by starting the club away from the ball. Seems counterintuitive, but the physics work.

When Milo mentioned he’s not flexible it surprised me. But a closer look ,he throws out all of the junk about needing a 90 degree shoulder turn (he’s not ) and high hands extension at the top ,not even close, but on the thru swing he gets his body out of the way and let’s his fast hands work. His impact position really highlights his baseball skills. Impressive and really gives us less flexible people some hope😏

One of my bucket list items is to have an in person lesson with Milo. Love these videos. When you watch his swing at the end, the one thing that sticks out to me is how open his lower body gets before his arms and club head swoosh through the ball toward the target. Also, not firing the wrists through the ball, but letting momentum hold the angle through impact. Totally working on these feels this winter.

One thing that really impressed me is that he instantly spotted something major: I had strengthened my grip, but was continuing to bow my wrist as I had with a neutral grip, not the right match-up. By simply keeping a flat or even slightly cupped wrist in the backswing, instantly felt solid and natural. 15 handicap suddenly shooting scores in the 70s, and with a run of 22 holes at +3 despite 3 3-putts thrown in the mix.

The best advice I've heard Milo say that has helped me & can help other weekend warriors is "Put yourself in a position at the top where physics can make everything happen". Good wrist and body angles at the top & your body can just take its natural course on the down swing. If it Feels forced or manipulated, you'll never be consistent.

My take always are a bigger more full swing, get some rhythm, club face up on the take away. Wow. Lots to practice. I do the hardest half swing in golf. You guys showed my swing exactly. Milo said it "loose". That's really the key ingredient. Maintain structure but keep it loose and smooth, don't rush from the top. You won't be able to hit it further with greater force/exertion. I can attest to hitting it well over 300 swinging like this. The temptation is to 'hit it harder'. Brendon, get Kurt Kitayama on your channel. He absolutely crushes it with little effort.

Stage 3 swing seems like the only times the backswing is completed .. does the throw forward relax the mind ? Allowing you to set the club back without the snatch transition? I go with Freddy couples , nice slow wide takeaway and try and ease into the acceleration through the ball . Then he shallows the club on the down swing ( He does this same whether it’s driver or 50 yard chip with wedge) and turns out of the way. So l have a question about P8...Milo speaks to the concept of the pivot driving driving impact and the hands not releasing much at all. EVERY high level golfer, at P8, you can see the left hand glove at this point. Meaning the right hand has released and isn't "holding on". This seems extremely counter intuitive to what is actually happening in the swing, and if anything is a move that kills power. Thoughts?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Год назад
By then the release is naturally happen in a full speed motion. I don't hang on unless maybe I'm hitting a knock down, but I definitely am not purposefully throwing or releasing. People worry too much about the release in my opinion.

When you introduce the ball to your superfast air swing, the brain will cause the body to move in order to put the strike on it. Which places drag or wastes energy available, so limits the energy production ceiling. Your air swing has no such restrictions.

A couple times recently when I showed up at a course and was surprised to find the range closed, I just did lots of air swings on the range mat and ended up having two of my best rounds. Pros swing the same with or without the ball, but the rest of start hitting instead of swinging when the ball is there. Best to swing through it as if it wasn't there. I'm going to keep on just warming up with swings for a bit and see if it keeps working: if so, will save me a lot on range balls!
