Pete I bought the Silversmith to go into my Orange Crush 35 SS amp on the clean channel. It sounds as awesome as you have it here. The general distortion puts it miles above the amps gain, and adds so much attack. Thank you for the video!! Now I need a compressor and chorus. I’m on pedal drugs!!

Pete, great demo, great tone, great pedal. If I may, I'd like to offer a suggestion. A MAJOR reason one seeks this type of pedal (at least those of us who gig regularly) is to have a pedal that puts out great variable rhythm crunch and chunk that mixes well with the band, but then boosts that tone in volume to riff or play a lead. When you capture this capability in one pedal its golden because you also save on pedalboard real estate. However, and I noticed this on your Goldsmith demo as well, that capability of the pedal is never shown. I have been searching the past two months for a drive/boost pedal smaller than my current Radial Plexitube and after watching more demo videos than I can count, I have never seen that particular attribute shown for ANY pedal in ANY demo, even though its a huge selling point. After looking at over 20 pedals that tout this capability, I have no idea how effectively any of them can do it, because they NEVER show it. Please be kind to the gigging musician and show what these boxes are capable of in a live setting. It is priceless to us. Thanks!!!

First time I bought a (any) pedal just because of a YT demo. This one! From TheseGoTo11 in Stockholm,Sweden. Ordered through their website a couple of minutes ago. Granted, one can return it within a week, but I doubt it. It will replace my original KLON on my board, which is way too dear to bring out anymore. Have to mothball that one, for a while. Happy 2015, Pete!

Hey Pete, I was wondering when you were going to demo the Silversmith. Of the three Egnater O/D pedals, that's the one I've had my eye on. I'm rocking an Egnater Vengeance 120W head with an Egnater VN-412 cabinet, a serious combination, but the head seems like it could use just a little extra push for those heavy metal type distortions. It's not quite dirty enough on its own. Your demo just confirmed my hunch that the Silversmith would be the perfect pedal in the front end. I especially like the extra growl it provides when the boost section is pushing the O/D side. Great demo, Pete.

Would you say there is a usable overdrive tone at the bottom of the gain here, or is it pretty much full on distorto city once you engage? do the goldsmith and silversmith crossover even a little in the gain range?

Pete, great demo as always. I was just wondering if you have a preference between the Sinvertek no.5 and the Egnater Silversmith (distortion side). Both sound very amp-like to me and can do mild overdrive to high gain. It's a tough choice, and there aren't dozens of demo videos for either pedal. To my ears, the Silversmith sounds just a little more amp-like than the Sinvertek, but the Sinvertek might have a slightly wider gain range. It kinda sucks that Sinvertek doesn't have a U.S. distributor and repair service, because if something goes wrong with the pedal, you have to pay shipping both ways to China and back, even if it fails while under warranty. I hope NAMM helps them to expand their customer service to other countries.

Have you considered putting out an album of the songs that you write/create for all these demos? I would love something like that. Also, do you use drum tracks, record yourself playing drums, have a good buddy? Keep up these sweet vids!

Surprised to see an Egnater pedal in one of your reviews! I remember seeing these at NAMM a year or two ago. Sweet! I wonder what the casing is an homage to. :P

Pete, great review again. What is the new black Suhr standard you are using? What pickups?

Great demo Pete as always. A couple of questions though. Is the boost side more of a clean boost a la Xotic EP booster, TC electronic Mini Spark? If so, is it possible via the patch jacks, could the boost side be run into an effects loop of an amp to get a volume boost?

Hey Pete, I use the G System, EVH 5150 III 50w head, Tremonti Wah, TC Boost, etc and I'm about to invest in a Roadhawg head case for my G System. Do you have any recommendations for rack mounted gear such as for rack mounted line conditioners, etc that you personally like?

Can I use it as a preamp directly into let say EL34 50/50 poweramp as well.

Pete, who is doing the drums for your demos? Programs or live?

What amp youre using with the pedal?

I bought this pedal and it really does not sound like this. It is way too compressed like a woolen blanket on youre sound.
