Thanks for the info. I'm getting ready to buy this blower. I got an Ego mower and was really impressed with it's performance. You sold me on this bro.😎
This blower is encouraging for battery powered blowers but still is just not powerful enough. I have a Husqvarna 580BTS which puts out 908CFM at 206MPH and live in the city and it still takes me between 30 and 45 minutes to clear my yard when my very large trees drop all their leaves at once. Also I watched it, what I would call struggle, with piles of leaves that my blower wouldn’t even sneeze at on turbo. I think very soon battery powered blowers will be equal or better than gas blowers and this blower would work great for most people. Thanks for the great video.
Well first off . You should not be comparing the ego or any lithium ion blower to the Husqvarna 580bts ..lol. This blower is not made for commercial work ..1 it has 20 min run time ...2nd its lithium ion ...this blower is plenty powerful enough ,may not be powerful enough for what you wanted it to do ,,but for homeowners DIY and people who just want to blow grass clippings with half the weight of your 580bts no gas or oil , no pulling a cord ..,and half the price ..it's an option
Supreme Services Lawn Care I agree to some point but if that is all you are doing get a battery powered hand blower not a backpack blower that costs up to 449 dollars. If I am buying a backpack blower for that commercial price it better perform like my commercial backpack blower (I paid 482 dollars out the door for my 580bts) or at a minimum last way longer at full power. I watched my neighbor spend about an hour and a half clearing his simple city lot (120x60) with his electric blower. I know he should have just tarped his leaves but he just kept blowing an inch every 10 minutes. Lol. My point is once the leaves form a little pile it takes max power to move them or you might as well rake and tarp your leaves. Don’t package/price a blower like a backpack blower if it can’t do the job of a backpack blower.
@@Brian-Outdoors yeah but then this blower doesn't make sense for you no one's asking you to buy it...do you have to buy what makes sense for you personally but for the people who are in the ego platform on the ego mower trimmer other handheld blowers for $299 not $449 you can buy this blower with a 5 amp hour battery of course ARB air tool for $199... and if that price makes a lot of sense ..👍🏻
Supreme Services Lawn Care I am sorry if I am giving you the wrong impression of my thoughts on Ego in general and battery powered lawn care equipment. I think they are by far the best of the battery powered tools and I myself am very interested in their lawn mower. I also love the low maintenance aspect of there equipment. People should definitely buy what works for them and this blower might be it. My very poorly made point is I have tried smaller blowers like this and if you have large trees this will not handle it.
@@Brian-Outdoors no its all good ..i get your point .. but i think your confusing this blower with a fully commercial 900 cfm gas blowers ...the specs tell you all you need to know 145 mph 600 cfm at 15-20 mins ...dont make sense and not the right tool if your moving alot of leaves ...this is for the homeowner with a small property and small amount of leaves ...comparing it to a fully commercial Husqvarna 580bts at 200mph 1000cfm is not accurate 👍🏻
Larseus yea its good for residential, but battery time for commercial use just aint there ...but it is a residential blower so it does its job to a degree , but even for homeowner the battery life is a big hurdle
Actually i just got one that came in from shipping. I'm not in agreement about it being good for the homeowner but not for the pro for the reason you're saying. If you have enough rapid chargers and 7.5Ah packs, it's great, but I wouldn't use it because for me, it is quite unergonomic and it wears me down. It weighs about 20 pounds with the 7.5Ah pack, and just the way it is built with pretty much the entire blower assembly on a swivel and a not-very-flexible material for maneuvering the tube, it is an uncomfortable unit to use, so I use the Greenworks 80V backpack blower (which I also have) instead. it is lighter, much more comfortable and ergonomic, and almost as powerful. Whenever I want more power, I just grab the EGO 575 CFM handheld unit, which has only slightly less power than the Greenworks backpack blower. I am running an electric lawbn service, and I find it worth it because of the extremely low expense--next to no maintenance and very low cost of electricity. I have enough batteries to keep me going indefinitely.
I just got the ego 18" chainsaw and backpack blower. Planning to get mower and power station next. As a one off, not worth it at all, stick with gas. But if you are a home owner investing in the entire ecosystem with multiple batteries, then it becomes worth while. With at least 3 large batteries, you can charge 2 while using one and never run out.
Ego has really taken the battery operated yard machines by storm. They have good looking products. Everyone has said the mower is great, I have personally never used any of the products cuz my yard is too big for battery operated anything.
Yea , I really had no idea how well made there stuff was before i got these 2 blowers ...construction wise very impressed and performance best ive ever used no doubt
Excellent video, very informative. I've been considering this for a year for my dad. He's already got the mower, but I wasn't sure how well this would work compared to gas.. because of this video I just snapped one up for father's day. Thanks man.
My Homelite handheld electric blower lasted 8 years and I paid $40 for that one brand new in 2010 at Home Depot, great product for the price. After that one finally broke I got the Ryobi BP42 gas blower for $199 also at Home Depot and returned it for a refund after two months. I paid $299 for Ego backpack today to avoid maintenance and the smell of gasoline and exhaust. We'll see how it holds up on when I clean up the property on the weekends.
I still have it, same battery, still lasts about 20 minutes on max blow. Better than a cord one because it has more range and better than a gas one because my wife and teenage son don't struggle to turn it on. Plus its one less small engine to maintain. I recommend it for personal use. I should probably look into a newer batter, they probably last longer now.
Bought one, died after about 15 hrs of use. While I was using, it made 2 or 3 clicks when trying to turn on and died. Replaced with another and the same thing happened!!!! Pissed off and had it. When it worked, I loved it. Buying a gas powered blower. This is made like garbage and buying 2 that died is proof.
Pretty cool. Neat to see it working. My customer's biggest noise complaint is the blower. It would be interesting too see just how many batteries you go through in a day. What is the charge time?
Something 2LookAt if your just doing grass clippings you can put it on medium power around 375 CFM ...you can get around 45 mins with one 5ah battery ...I recommend getting the 7.5 ah kit ..you should get over an hour with one battery ....a 7.5 and a 5.0 should get you threw the day ...ur only using for 5 mins or so on each property ...so realistically 1 5.0ah Should get you through but the 7.5 ah kit is the way to go
Really? Man, this really takes a whole new understanding. Ultimately if you could get all your machines doing this, you wouldn't need the 2 cycle can. Of course now you gotta come up with methods to keep people from stealing your batteries, but I'm sure there are good ways. So, I have you tried to mount it in a Green Touch blower rack yet? lol, how do you keep them from just stealing the whole thing? Do you see a good place to put a cable through it?
Something 2LookAt I'm a little confused of what ur talking about...but my batterys will be charging in my truck which will be locked ...but not sure why this equipment would be any different than gas powered equipment Getting stolen ...
lol, yes, I was being a bit vague. All I meant is that if it doesn't fit into the current locking setup, you'd have to find a new way. And here we don't really lock up the trucks because it gets so hot. I don't usually leave anything valuable in there. But if the batteries were in there, I'd have to. Sorry about that, just thinking and typing at the same time. It doesn't always work. :)
Huge advantages in battery electric over gas in both vehicles and equipment. But everyone forgets the main one which is that these new technologies exist to stop polluting the planet and harming our people.
Greg Smilgin yes it is ...like I said you bring gas with you , you need to bring battery's ...same thing you carry gas cans to power equipment, you need battery's to run lithium ion equipment....great for small time leaves and grass clippings...but not made for moving alot of leaves ..so comparison to 2 cycle 75cc equipment not there
I work at a 149 acre summer camp, and during fall I have to clean up the leaves around it, will this be good enough for that? It's usually 7 hours a day 5 days a week for 4 months or so. We have gas powered ones but I want to buy this and use it as my personal one, since the other we have to share
Husqvarna is the only true commercial battery operated tools for professionals. It is very expensive but the only brand that will run all day in commercial setting
the stuff sold at lowes is not the same as commercial quality stuff from a dealer. most stuff from lowes is rebranded poulan. go to a local Husqvarna dealer and you will see quality Husqvarna tools.
Cut and Clean WI lol...well ok so Husqvarna runs 2 prodictions lines for same the product ?? Lol ...its actually against the law to have identical model #s and have different components...so the same stuff at Lowe's is the same stuff at your dealer ..
My dealer doesn't sell the same models that lowes does. It's a totally different quality product. Lowes sells 128ldx trimmer. I have 525lk both detachable trimmers but mine is better quality and power. The battery tools that my dealer sells are totally different as well.
yea i think its here now for alot of uses ...but for commercial projects like moving leaves not sure if ever going to get the ampont of power needed...but who knows...like i say in alotof vids blowers are tough ...buy wacker and hedge trimmer they are ready nowmost residental and commercial work ...isitbetter then gas ..well you have to decide between pros and cons ...
Blower and everything else isn't the issue. The battery sucks if you have tons of leaves and bigger yard. You will need bigger battery than just 5amp that lasts 20 to 30min and charge is a hour or more. Epic fail.
It's not a true backpack blower it's a handheld blower attached to a backpack thats just holds a battery, they blow good but are only home owner quality, not for professional won't holdup to the abuse I know a lot if guys who do lawnwork and bought this for early morning use because its quieter, kept breaking on them couldn't hold up to the abuse, now the Dewalt isn't as powerful but way better built and the ego is only more powerful on turbo I would take the Dewalt way over the ego
@@SupremeServicesLawnCare I wouldn't say useless for landscapers. Snag that for the summer/grass cutting season, and leave the gas blower for fall clean up
