Egyptian miniatures for the Palace Dollhouse! 

There is nothing better than walking into an antique shop and finding such treasures! Since you asked for ideas, for the Anubis statue, I suggest gild the bottom and leave him black. I also think leaving the other two pieces completely black will work nicely as contrast for the colorful Tutankhamun and the mummy case. The latter looks so good over the mirror.

Happy Birthday to John boy! The three black Egyptian figures look to be carved of some kind of stone (possibly basalt)! They are very beautiful pieces. It might be nice to gold leaf the hieroglyphics on the base of Anubis and down the back of the standing piece. I'm sure you'll decide on the perfect thing!

Woohoo! Its so nice to see you! I look forward to your videos. Those are fabulous finds!!!! I taught 6th-grade ancient civilizations before I retired. I would keep the black figures as they are. They are striking. I think you should create a type of colonnade of lotus columns and the walls should be covered with a tomb mural. The colors on the mural would make the black statues standout.

Wonderful collection of Museum Artifacts you purchased--5 great finds. About changing colour from black, perhaps a section of your museum could have brilliantly coloured/gold wallpaper, then the black artifacts would show up beautifully. Wish John-boy Many Happy Returns! from me.

They are beautiful. The original sculptures were made of black basalt. A stone the Egyptians favored for their sculptures. You could look up the originals, so you could see what they liked.

Hello Richard, Nice finds, the big Tutankhamun is lovely, he will be a perfect centrepiece for the museum. I quite like the black figures too, Anubis is my favourite of the three, I don't think I would paint them, I'd be too afraid to ruin them as my hands are not very steady at times. We went to York DH fair today, it was ok, though not as good as last year, there didn't seem to be as many sellers this time, maybe I'm being picky but the quality of items didn't seem as good as last year either.
