The very top of Mount Macedon must have a very similar climate to ours here on southern Vancouver Island! We have most of the plants in our garden mentioned in this beautifully structured and gently maintained garden. If Kevin and Chris don’t already have a Parrotia Perscia or two tucked away some where it would be a great addition to their garden.

They do have Parrotia but it wasn’t at its best. Regards Stephen

Beautiful garden. Can you take cuttings off the climbing hydrangea?

"very similar climate to ours here on southern Vancouver Island! " It's still quite a bit milder. Top of Mt. Macedon is probably USDA zone 9b, and the all-time record low is -8.3C/17F. (That's quite cold by Australian standards, of course.) Victoria, BC's all time record low is -15.5 C/3F.

With summer setting in here in the southern US I will be spending much more time in the house instead of the garden watching your videos and dreaming of Fall 🙂Keep up the good work!

@@thehorti-culturalists It is, but I'm too old and fat to do much gardening when it's as hot as the face of the sun and 100% humidity. So I dream of climates such as the mild parts of Australia, NZ and UK 🙂

I liked a lot this video. Wrote down some of the names. I had difficulty last night finding Neillia Tanakae. Things that were coming up did not look the same like your picture. Will search by the old name. I have a question for you in regards to azalea bushes. I have a pair of old ones( 20 years older or so) , and not sure how deep I should trim them. now that the flowers are almost spent. How deep can I go down to trim them?
@thehorti-culturalists
@thehorti-culturalists 3 месяца назад
you can cut them very hard if you want to but unless they are to big or out of shape they can be left alone. Regards Stephen

Hello ragazzi, found a trumpet vine volunteer amongst my dahlias and want to keep it for hummingbirds. It was tiny. I put it in a big pot by a fence and it’s extremely vigorous and about six feet tall with many canes. Will I be able to control it? I’m on Long Island, zone 7.
