I never thought I would ever see the day that anyone could ever do justice to Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love'. Kate Bush must be so proud that Eivør has done her proud for sure. Simply Awesome !
I just discovered this singer last night, and was instantly obsessed because I thought she sounded similar to Kate Bush (who is my favorite singer of all time) in some ways. Now I'm even more in love!
“...take my shoes off and throw them in the lake, and I’ll be two steps on the water...” ...sometimes we don’t get the miracle we want, but we get the beginning nudge we need. ...So here I go.
Why am I hearing this only now?! Simply amazing. I'm not sure who Kate Bush is but have been catching references to her for a while now. Looks like I just found another rabbit hole to explore. :)
Wow, absolutely astounding. I but you could do a truly phenomenal version of "This Woman's work". I've always adored Kate Bush and since I discovered your beautiful soul enlightening voice it makes me smile to hear her influence on a new generation.
When I was a child Running in the night Afraid of what might be. Hiding in the dark Hiding in the street And of what was following me. Hounds of love are hunting me I've always been a coward And I don't know what's good for me. Here I go It's coming for me through the trees Help me, someone Help me, please Take my shoes off And throw them in the lake And I'll be Two steps on the water. I found a fox Caught by dogs He let me take him in my hands His little heart It beats so fast And I'm ashamed of running away From nothing real I just can’t deal with this But I'm still afraid to be there. Among your hounds of love I feel your arms surrounding me I've always been a coward I never know what's good for me. Here I go Don't let me go Hold me down It's coming for me through the trees Help me darling Help me please Take my shoes off And throw them in the lake And I'll be Two steps on the water.
Well, it’s not Kate but it has a nuanced quality of its own and she can belt out the notes. Fair play to her. And the Futureheads did a cover as well. Again, there’s a certain nuance about their version that tickles me too.
