Hounds of Love is one of my favourite songs ever,so it would be easy to consider any version not made by Kate in a non complimentary manner. However, you have made a beautiful version of the song in it's own right but still retained the emotion of the original . I can't help but wonder what it would be like if you and Kate were to collaborate on a version.
Yep, was about to skip watching the trailer, but the music and lyrics were very familiar, wait that's Kate Bush, Hounds of Love. This was a very well done rendition of it.👍
Exactly. She even sounds a bit like Kate as well. Anyone who can pull off a Kate Bush cover and make it sound new, interesting and yet familiar is worth further listening.
Yes.....was watching the Looper video ‘What was it like to watch Star Wars in the 70’s’. I paid scant attention to the Losing Alice, until the voice trilled ‘HERE I GOOOO--WAHHH!!’. Added to my playlist, yes.
+Joe G she was Gavin Bryars choice for his Marilyn Unlimited; opera premiere and he did also Heroes Meet with her .... folk, pop, jazz, opera, church ...
Wow! Yes, I'd been thinking, before hearing this ... Eivør ... had not encountered vocals so impressively expressive and with such range and vitality since Kate Bush ... and this one ... wow! Totally nailed it. Next I wonder when Kate Bush may perform a work of Eivør's. :-) Great artists - all too rare to find such incredibly impressive talent.
@@MichaelPaoli and that she hails from the tiny Isle, the Faereos, makes it even more interesting. There must be quite the musical community among their 40K or so people.
people hating on this version i swear don't know how to listen to music. too slow? she isn't trying to make a perfect copy you numbnuts. she's evoking a different feel and does so successfully. this one builds to more of a crescendo with the driving drums by starting so spare; this is headphone music. put on headphones and sing along, if you're not absolutely moved by the end you have no feelings. i swear if this was the original people would be hating on Kate's version smh... the same kind of person who swears "music sucks nowadays." nope, just you bro lololol
Maybe it’s partially because I heard this version first, but I like it a lot more. I feel the original feels sped up or something. This version feels much more powerful
What a fantastic cover of an amazing song. It's the first cover versionthat made me love it, even though the interpretation is so different from the original. Thank you!
This blew my mind. Eivør has an amazingly special voice and the video is simply captivating. I love Kate Bush, and I'm so glad to hear a fabulous and original interpretation of one of her songs.
This is an amazing, powerful, unique version. I've been a fan of Kate Bush for years (have lots of nearly sacred vinyl of KB) and am just learning about Eivør.
This is absolutely haunting… you are freaking amazing… I do solo piano instrumentals of Kate’s songs… if you wanted to collaborate I would absolutely die. "Hounds of Love" | Kate Bush | Solo Piano Cover by Josh Morphis ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UUM4TEeg3-s.html
Holy shit. I'm a big Kate Bush fan but I never liked Hounds of Love. I always thought it needed something. Well, this is something. "Should we, you know, add some music?" "Does she need any?" "Not really, but people tend to expect it" "Well, just a bit."
the black and white paint signifies the yin and yang of how our life goes and what we wish and in spirit wishes to mix within us. i am that yin and yang. i am the darkness that comes with no light. i see what she tries to portray in this. in dark sometimes we cannot be saved but from where i am , at least i can watch. , not a bad version.
Good voice. But it's a bit melodramatic and slow for my taste. Like the original better. But thanks for the song.... ps:what's going on with all that paint on her face? Seem too artsy-fartsy. But the rest of the video is beautiful....
mmmhhhh ya this is very good and very nice to hear a serious version of a fantastic song from a amazing artist namely KATE BUSH never forget the power of the original and never forget to respect the original...but yaa this is not bad...
As covers go it is probably a solid 8 out of 10. If she didn't have the strong accent on a couple of words it would have maybe made a 9 out of 10... but it was too close to the original... should have tried something different.
I think I prefer the Futureheads version to be honest, I know Kate Bush's is the original but I don't like it really and I don't really like this version either.
