I love this podcast so much! One thing that I caught while watching the movie again, that you guys may have missed is that a) Saif says before the climax that he only wanted to sleep with Urmila, there was no specific agenda and b) What I gathered from the movie was that the suitcase gangster who left his stuff at Urmila’s place was shot down by the police, which was completely unplanned by Saif, and instead of getting implicated for having ties to the underworld, Saif and his lawyer decided to pin it on Urmila. Just my thoughts, I didn’t think that Urmila was going to be set up, they just did that to save their own asses

This is exactly what happened!! I don't think the filmmakers wrote the story keeping in mind that Saif deliberately set it up..

After watching Park Chan-wook's Lady Vengeance, I thought it was inspired by Ek Hasina Thi. However, I later learned that both films were inspired by the book If Tomorrow Comes.

That Sidney Sheldon book is if tomorrow comes... The first time I saw the movie i though this was inspired from the first half of the book. Same plot.. innocent girl falls in love with a guy who has ties to Mafia and ends up taking the fall and jailed. She somehow escapes and takes revenge..

One of the finest and the best films that introduced us to a character of a fuck boy and srk was considered for the role manisha koirala and aishwariya rai were considered for the film

Agent Vinod is not a misfire by any means. It is definitely not a neo-noir thriller like Ek Hasina Thi or Johnny Gaddaar so it should not be judged from that lens. It's a film made for the masses to revel in an Indian James Bond, and it had me hooked. TL-DR it's a classier and better Pathaan

I haven't seen it for a two decades but he pays the goons he hires to attack her, it's shown. he does break the goon's arm - which is soemthin he says to urmila "gundday hire kiye thay....oh shit meinay uska haath tor diya, koi baat nahi aur paisay dainay parain ge"... maybe the edited version you guys mentioned at the start cut that part. also he's a made guy, goons are dime a dozen in his circle of influence and he's a playboy - stockmarket playboys use yachts, made guys use hired goons to ensnare women.... don't they, ig.

yaaar kya ker rahay ho? now im like kitna edited verssion ddekha hai inho nai... Saif's underworld thing was to ensnare bholi shehri educated larkiyan; they travel, they can access places across the board, they've an air of independence but susceptible to a good con (lack of support structures cause of independence - and we're all susceptible to good cons)....mujhay 20+ saal hogye hain and that's the impression i rememer ... 🤨
