Thank you. Mine arrive today. The instructions are awful but your video is the best his to guide I’ve ever seen. Thank you for the effort you put into your videos and the clarity of your presentation.
Got mine from you. Set up a target in the garden, now my shed has holes in it. I made what I thought was a thick enough target. It wasn't. The bolts went straight through the 12" thick target and into the shed. This thing is stupidly powerful. The target was industrial carpet, super dense foam (cow matting) then normal carpet in 4 layers with a 3/4" ply backing. I thought it would be enough from 20yds. Not even close.
For the price this bow has the kick without being ott. If you want this bow for hu....ing a little larger than small game (?). THIS has the kick to do the job.. If its just for show and your not going to practice as its not a toy then go down the scale..hope iv emailed myself properly lol
For shtf,.. I prefer and advise and sugest a recurve bow,.. I sugest a Sanlida Chase Wind 150 pounds for about 200 euro. I have four of them,.. And I love my Excalibur Micro Crosbow!! Also recurve,.. Component is hard to restring yourself,.. Recurve can be restringed on the move.
What a fantastic video. Subbed do to how good it was. A couple of questions. Which are the best low profile fixed Broadheads you would recommend for this crossbow? Also which bolt shafts would you recommend? Thank you for this video, I’ll use it to help me set mine up.
Thank you so much for your reply. May I ask… I’m finding conflicting info from EI and other forces. Do you have to use EK’s own bolts or can you use other same spec bolts? May I ask what nock type is used with this bow? Thanks again your help and knowledge is superb.
I have the Blade II 170 lbs by EK ARCHERY just set it up today .. ... entry level they call it... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 .. You have to laught anyone who owns one will tell you they are no joke the will go straight through a ballistic helmet or a frying pain you certainly do not wany to be on the recieving end of those bolts ... I also have a Barnet Pistol crossbow thats old school had it 30 years at least but upgraded by myself with string n bolts ... only one down size the bolts are usually un retrevable after being shot... 👁👁... but that has its upside in HD scenario , And I also have 170lb Goliath from William Tell Archery in the states that shoots darts bolts and 8mm Ball bearings .... Its large and heavy around i think the same weight as a modern Rifle coming in at 9 to 10 lbs depending on attachments ... It has one advantage you can pull it by hand to cock it with out a cocking device being needed ... After lookng around im gonna get 2 more crossbows recurves i think , The Jag 2 is decent at a very low price its simple and cheap and decent power for the price.... or something equiverlent at around the £150 price range , Great channel mate just subded ... 👍💯.. gonna check out the shop see were your based maybe pop in to buy something... 👍
Disagree this is the ultimate shtf crossbow , though this is a good crossbow you want a crossbow that anyone can pull , 200lb pull weight is too much for most to even cock , using a cocking aid means your shot rate is really slow making it useless for self defence , most people dont know how to restring compound bows or understand cams let alone owning a bow clamp to restring the bow , if using this bow for small game( because there will not be a lot of big game in the UK) in shtf scenario the bolt will pass through the animal and can break or be lost each time , Good vid , thanks 👍
I've got a EK Archery 370 accelerator crossbow only I've given it an upgrade I stuck a crank on it a bipod then i got rid of the forgrip and replaced it with a tactical drop down grip then i needed a better scope so I stuck a ATN X sigh LTV 5-15 X night vision scope then i needed too poot a micro range finder on it a long with a tactical green laser sight and i got rid of the sling and got a tactical single point sling now as for my bolts I've gone for a much heavier bolt so I've got Carbon express pile-driver bolts and replaced the nock's with nocturnal launchpad lighted nock's that i had too import from the US and now I'm planning on getting a bracket for my quiver so i can have my bolts on the side of my bow instead of sticking out of the front of it so I've spent a lot of money on it but it's worth every penny
Great video, what crossbow would you advise for a five foot tall woman? XD Still would like something with a bit of power behind it, but that HEX 400 looks absolutely massive, I doubt I could use it!
@@lokeyacolyte2145 You are welcome. I have quite a few crossbows and live in the UK. I personally own a 150lb Jag 1 and a 175lb Jag 2 with scope, plus 2 x Steambow Stinger II crossbows, a Survival and a Tactical with 55lb and 90lb limbs. If you aren't that strong, a 55lb Stinger II would be ideal for you I think, but the Jag 1 is a perfect full size crossbow. Cheap, accurate and fun.
The biggest flaw is the cocking system. I'm not a fan of having to take a special tool with me, to be able to cock a crossbow. That might be just me though. Maybe that's why I'm more into pistol crossbows.
I agree. I always appreciate the power of a compound crossbow but they are a hassle to cock. I can cock and load my 175lb Jaguar II recurve no problem with just my hands, much better in a high stress situation.
If you want a stronger lifespan of the crossbow then the accelarator 410 as it has 410 fps with 185 lb compared to the hex which has 210 lb with 395 fps. Clearly accelarator is better as it can produce higher speed at lower lb. Also having lower lb means you won't need to repair your crossbow as much.
Sweet bit of kit!!! Had no idea with CBs so kept it simple and went recurve. Might be "entry level" but if that's what you are then why lie to yourself???
From the video title I thought it was a cross bow hexi stove combi... You can imagine my disappointment when you didn't despatch a squirrel and cook it on your cross bow hexi stove combi 2000😂
Greetings That bow is sweet but I'm unable to pull .that's why I went for the easy cocking ..arthritis is a bitch lol... Theg have improved on bows in the last 12 months..a good compound bow is worth it's weight if used properly. Iv just gone done the scale lol
Leigh, i was hoping you could clarify for me whether broadheads are illegal to possess in the UK? Or are they just illegal to sell..? Im seeing a fair few mixed things about it online. From what i understand hunting with any bow is illegal regardless.
I don’t think they are illegal to own or sell as you can buy them quite easily and I have them plus have sold them but yes hunting with a bow is illegal so in theory you shouldn’t need broad heads 😉
I don't care if hunting with a crossbow is "illegal". With 22" bolts it will not only kill the rabbit, it'll nail it to the ground stop it from running away. I've headshot rabbits with the .22 and still had them jump around and disappear.
