EL CAMINO (2019) | Movie Reaction and Review! | First Time Watching! 

I always the imagine the produces and writers getting the plot together and thinking “it’s only been a few years, most of the actors will look pretty much the same, it won’t be an issue.” And then Jesse Plemons as Todd tuned up for the read through…😮.

Robert Forster (the actor who played Ed Galbraith, the Disappearer) died the day this movie was released. Re: why Ed was so strict with Jesse, I think he's just a no-nonsense professional (at what he does) who tries to remain as emotionally detached from his clients' doings as possible (because to be fair, he's incurring a lot of risk in what he does) and is not easily moved by their situation. But he also has a 'code' too that shows he isn't simply all about greed (e.g., gives Jesse back all his money when he can't pay in full rather than keeps it, does throw the police off Jesse's trail).

A bit of trivia to explain the name of the movie (beyond it just being the car's name lol): El Camino is a Spanish phrase that translates to “The Way" in English. The phrase is popularly used for Spanish Catholic pilgrimages to holy sites, such as Camino de Santiago. It fits this story because Jesse is at the end of his journey trying to find the way to his final sanctuary (Alaska).

Charles Baker, who plays Skinny Pete, is a great actor. Baker plays the Heavy in the great film "Ain't Them Bodies Saints" and turns in a great performance. He's every bit as terrifying as Gus Fring and all with a smile on his face.

So nice to see Todd again in the _Fargo_ series as an upstanding family man! (I'm part way into Season 2 .. wow. Another series that goes _left_ when you expect it to go _right_ . Recommended so far!)

Jesse DID want to kill Todd, he just realizes that if he does Jack's gang will kill Brock as revenge. Jesse is completely doomed unless the entire gang somehow dies all at once. ;)

The money that skinny pete and badger gave jesse is the same money that walt gave them for helping with gretchen and elliot

None of the flashback scenes were deleted from Breaking Bad. They were shot during the making of the movie, including Walt's and Jane's scenes.

Todd's weight gain can be explained by an intense yet brief off-screen Twinkie addiction. Uncle Jack finally set him straight and he lost the weight. Of course, a fair amount of his motivation was for the love of Lydia.

RE: Todd's weight gain, my theory is that Todd got depressed after being rejected by Lydia and gorged himself on a diet of ice cream and candy bars. In time, he got over it and his weight went back to normal.

I did the same after BB.. needed a fix real bad LOL.. El Camino is great.. suppose you know about Better Call Saul - I recommend it.. then watch BB all over again LOL.. Thanks for the reaction vids they're great :D

I feel like Todd is one a few cases in which tv shows/movies have been able to create psychopathic characters that are pretty accurate to how psychopaths are.Todd clearly feels no empathy for others or any guilt for any of his actions yet clearly knows what emotions are even if he hardly feels any himself and is a master at using them to manipulate others and in this case Jessie.

Todd is a psychopath but Hoorah for Jesse! This finaly comes to an end. I truly beleive you will enjoy BCS, just as much, if not more than BB. I am looking so forward to doing it with you... Thanks for a great reaction series...

Better Call Saul is an amazing show

Another great reaction, Andrea! On now to 'Better Call Saul' [BCS], which is mainly about what happened before 'Breaking Bad' [BB], but some of it is also about what happened after. Remember what I said about the manager's job in that Cinnabon in Omaha, Nebraska, which Saul mentioed in BB...? Also, there are dozens of 'behind the scenes' videos about BB and BCS on RU-vid you might like to watch when you've finally finished all six seasons of BCS. Several of them are of what are called 'reading sessions' (for both BB and BCS) where you get to watch the cast reading the entire script together (in character) before each episode -- they are all a really good laugh. Others reveal much more background detail about both shows. I'd post a few links but RU-vid deletes comments with links in them.
