I don’t understand the irrational hatred of Chuck 😭 jimmy literally threw Ernesto under the bus and is the reason all of this escalated to a mess that actually could’ve killed him. Viewers have such a hard time empathizing with him but how often have they had to grow up with someone as devious and manipulative as jimmy?
Just because ther mom said “Jimmy” doesn’t mean she “preferred” him. Jimmy was constantly getting into trouble since he was a child, his mom was worried sick when he wound up in jail. It could’ve just been a stressed call out for him. To Chuck tho it’s perceived as jimmy constantly stealing their moms attention too
Agreed. Their mother’s last words always gave Chuck another reason to dislike Jimmy. I took flak for saying that Chuck is jealous of Jimmy, but this is one example of that jealousy.
That’s a great question! If I get time, I may react to it and put it on our Patreon as a Patreon-exclusive feature. I don’t know how many views it would get on RU-vid, but we can consider it.
5:00 Unfortunately, they have to act like that in the situation, they need the lights on so they can see what's going on, they have to do those scans so that they can know he's not in the middle of heart failure or if he had a stroke or something like that. A sensitivity to light might actually indicate something like a stroke.
Maybe he could have done it before he accompanied Hector into the house? But I’m far enough ahead for my Patreon that I now know who really put the note on the car 😉
I can't understand why Chuck is a prick because he knows Ernie and Jimmy are lying, and you know he's lying too, I get that Chuck is annoying, but he's 100 right,, and you know it, but why is Jimmy not a prick for breaking the law and changing his files and all that? They are gaslighting Chuck.
Jimmy is definitely in the wrong for changing Chuck’s files but the show clearly sets up Chuck as an unlikeable character. He’s so condescending towards Jimmy even after Jimmy helps him throughout his condition.
Although Chuck is right the reason why he right and how he acts makes he a prick The reason Chuck blames Jimmy is because he is the type of person that doesn’t think he can make a mistake so when so when something happens wear it could of been a mistake Chuck made he find the most convenient person to blame if he wasn’t able to blame Jimmy he find someone else to blame
It reminds me of how some people hate Skyler because she’s “supposed to be unlikable” which never made sense to me. Morals shouldn’t have anything to do with likability lol
And here we have a huge plot hole in better call Saul. Why was mike not willing to kill tuco, but was willing to kill Hector? Mike tells nacho he won’t kill tuco because there will be more Salamanca’s looking for who did it. Well Hector is higher ranking than tuco. He doesn’t think salamancas will be looking to see who killed Hector? Mike also tells nacho it’s too risky to kill tuco at the restaraunt. But he didn’t have to kill tuco at the restaraunt. Mike could have done some investigating, followed tuco around, and found out when he’d be alone (like he did with Hector) and kill him then. Maybe he could kill tuco at the desert hideout. Mikes a logical character who doesn’t seem like the type to get all emotional and go after a high ranking member of the cartel, especially when he wouldbt kill a lower ranking member of the cartel earlier
1.The threat was over. 2.mike was a logical character even if Hector did threaten his family, I don’t think Mike would think it’s in his best interest to kill him.
So if mike did kill Hector, he wouldtnt think the cartel would figure out it who did it and retaliate more? It seemed to go against mikes character to do this
Shush, don't point out anything that's not very well done in BCS. The fandom will that thinks BCS is second coming of Jesus will come after you 😉 in fact there are a few similar instances in the show. But for some reason people either really don't see it or just choose not to see it. It's a great show, it really is. But it's not as flawless as people make it to be
We know from BB how much Mike loves his granddaughter. All it really takes in this universe is one family threat. Hence BB 'Face Off' and Walt dealing with Jesse after thinking he was going after his family and putting Todd and the crew on him. I'd expect if Vince Gilligan was questioned about this plot hole, he'd have a better retort.
This is why I love this show The show makes makes us (the viewers) ask important Moral questions that who is right? *Chuck?* A reputed lawyer who is going after his own brother to nail him! Or *Jimmy?* Who betrayed his older brother because Kim Wexler brought the client _"Mesa Verde"_ herself & it belongs to herself! Every action has equal & opposite reaction! Imagine if Kim Wexler gave up her client Mesa Verde just like that to H.H.M with out a fight, Howard & Chuck would've made Easy Buck on Kim's expense! But Personally if you ask me, you know who i really feel bad about? *Ernie* the Intern with his Blue Subaru He just got stuck between Two Ego Centric brothers and Howard Hamlin😀😆
I'm sorry, but Ernie's driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, which is the playmate of the Subaru you were thinking of🤓 Aside from that, I agree, Ernie didn't do anything but work a lot, sacrificing his free time and nerves
Chuck didn’t really figure out that Jimmy change the numbers the reason Chuck believes Jimmy change the numbers is because Chuck can’t admit he could make a mistake Chuck even tried to blame his client and only when it was proven to him he admits the address was wrong and then goes right home and almost immediately blames jimmy HHM didn’t lose the Mesa Verde because of the “mistake” they lost the Mesa Verde because from Kevin’s point of view is lawyer made a mistake and his lawyer immediately starts blaming him and even when it was proven that his lawyer was wrong his lawyer doesn’t admit that he made a mistake. if Chuck had of said let’s look into what caused the discrepancy and when it was proven that HHM summited papers apologized to his clients it vary likely that HHM would of kept Mesa Verde
If you want people to spread the word, talk about something, tell them they can't . "The first rule of Fight Club is..." It looks like his aim was a little askew. The bullet appears to have come out just below and in front of his left ear. He'll definitely need jaw replacement and I predict tiniitis in his future.
Mike clearly draws the line at "in the game" or "not in the game". The former group knows what they got themselves into and should eventually face the consequences, yet the latter should remain safe and protected. That's his moral code as it seems
18:47 reminds me of Board James "why is everything always murder with you?" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vTnG3hrSGS0.htmlsi=KXor52TnLZLW_i4k&t=160
A reaction is a personal and subjective experience. Everybody will have different opinions especially concerning characters that are so morally ambiguous. I’m sorry if you don’t agree with my opinion and you’re entitled to your own view. Thanks for watching.
It goes both ways. Chuck did bail Jimmy out but talked Howard out of hiring him as a lawyer. Jimmy cared for Chuck through his affliction and Chuck was disrespectful to him. Both characters have committed their fare share of mistakes.
@kai_masters they have both made mistakes, but Chuck knew what Jimmy would be with a law degree, and the very beginning of the show, shows the re slipping of Jimmy, and Chuck saw it, with the billboard and the broken legs bill from the hospital. That's when his "condition" started acting up.
2:57 yes Mike took off the mask but the driver’s eyes were covered… Ugh that stunt hitting the counter was well done. Every time I see it I can’t help but cringe! I think Mike’s only motivation is the threat against his family.
Mel Brooks plays many parts the gov never hear him say the N word and the town old drunk watching out for the Sharif never says the ward and the main singer dancer dressed as a German also the Indian Chief also his wife plays a bit part. The way Mel did this with Richard Pryor main writer and other writers. All made this work .
This is my favorite episode in in Season 2, and this is my favorite dialogue in it: Jimmy: "You're part of the greatest generation. You fought the Nazis." Fake war veteran: "Fought the Japanese." Jimmy: "What?" Fake war veteran: "Fought Japanese. I fought the Japanese. This machine was used in the Pacific, where the Japanese are." Jimmy: "Why don't you shut up and learn to take some direction?" Fake war veteran: "...Japanese." Jimmy: "Alright, fine. You fought all the dirty... Axis powers."
The whole oath military thing is one of the key reasons that the German military nowadys are considered "Staatsbürger in Uniform" meaning citizens in uniform. That means, you are only obligated to your conscience and to the German constitution. Any illegal orders are to be ignored and the consitution is to be defended at all cost. Stauffenbergs last line (which is accurate) "Long live sacred Germany" refers to the fact that they realized Hitler was an enemy of the state and people of Germany and the German people ultimately (they chose this path of course) were victims of his regime as well.
I’m not a lawyer but I watched a couple lawyers react to this episode and none of them side anything about Kim not being able to take clients with here so I think it would depend on Kim’s contract if there nothing in the contract saying she can’t take clients with her she be free to take clients with her
Chuck would absolutely help Jimmy if the situations were reversed. Chuck is the one who got Jimmy off of that absurd sex offender charge ("Chicago sunroof"), and has shown empathy towards Jimmy at many points during the show. The fatal flaw of their brotherly relationship comes down to the fact that Chuck thinks Jimmy will always be a huckster and a scam artist at heart, so he believes he has an ethical obligation to keep him from practicing the law, something for which he treats almost as if it were his religion. Chuck is not being disingenuous when he says that he loves Jimmy, but trust issues and jealousy have gotten in the way of Chuck truly showing much love.
That’s a great way of describing their relationship. You are right when you mention Chuck getting Jimmy out of jail and now Jimmy is returning the favor.
Yet another great reaction, Andrea. As I have said several times, before you (finally) judge Chuck remember Jimmy is a _scam artist;_ he has been since he was a child. You already know how he turns out from 'Breaking Bad' (BB). So, it is no spoiler to say that Chuck knows _exactly_ what Jimmy is. Again, that doesn't absolve Chuck, but it throws a different light on their complex relationship. The beauty of the writing behind this series (and BB) is that few characters are 100% 'good' or '100%' bad, and that is the case with Chuck and Jimmy. Mike is scoping the Salamancas for reasons that will soon emerge. As with several plot trajectories on BB, 'Better Call Saul' has many slow-burning fuses. It's a core part of their appeal. The same is the case with the relationship between Kim and Jimmy -- as you will find out by the end of Season Six.
You’re absolutely right in that the characters all show some level of moral greyness or ambiguity. I think I did throw in a few positive comments about Chuck, especially his vast knowledge of the law. Our RU-vid videos are well behind our Patreon schedule so by the time you comment on a video, I may be 6-10 episodes ahead 😊
The guy telling Jimmy there are wolf and sheep Figure out which one you're gonna be was the start but I believe what played a much bigger role in make Jimmy who is. Is Jimmy dad be so easily taken advantage of so Jimmy viewed his dad as a sheep and because his dad lost the shop and died a little bit later jimmy believe the only why to make it in the world was to be a wolf
"You did it once, you can do it again." That's great reasoning, Jimmy. She brought in Mesa Verde to HHM, one of the most prestigious law firms around. That proves she can bring in another major client to an unknown startup.
Yet another excellent reaction, Andrea. While you are right that Jimmy's father probably would have tanked his own business in the end, but Chuck said that $14k had gone missing; that is from the till and not accounted for. His father would have accounted for the money he kept giving away. So that $14k, if correct, was down to Jimmy. Anyway, rightly or wrongly, Chuck certainly blames Jimmy for his father's (early) death. Now that doesn't absolve Chuck, but it does make his attitude toward Jimmy more understandable. And given what you now know of Jimmy's character (and the assessment you heard from Chuck a few episodes ago), Chuck has Jimmy 'bang-to-rights', as they say. He said he wasn't a bad person, he just always managed to find a way to justify whatever scam he was pulling, and then others had to pick up the pieces. A scam artist like Jimmy has no business being near the law, at least as far as Chuck sees things. Continue to reserve judgement is all I can say. Wait till you get the full picture...
Was Chuck right about Jimmy stealing money from his father, yes and no....The flashback confirmed that Jimmy contributed, but it definitely doesn't confirm that Jimmy took all of the missing $14k like Chuck claims. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Jimmy did take money from his dad, but judging from the flashback his dad was a pretty naive shitty business owner giving away money like that. Odds are he probably would've tanked his business whether Jimmy started taking money or not. So Chuck's story wasn't completely accurate.
I still don’t believe that Jimmy ruined his dad’s business to the extent that Chuck is blaming him. Clearly dad was already well known to have his charity taken advantage of straight from the register. Dad gave the con man $10. The con man ‘bought’ 2 carton’s for $8. Jimmy just kept the same $8 that was part of the $10 that dad already gave away. So Jimmy is responsible for whatever the wholesale is for the cigarettes but the dad is responsible for $10 from the register.
You’re right that both the father’s generosity and Jimmy’s actions played a role. Jimmy’s actions resulted in the first place because he saw that his father could be taken advantage of.
