El Dorado County's Grizzly Flats "The Road Back" 

A small El Dorado County foothills town, Grizzly Flats was devastated by the Caldor fire which started in August of 2021. Among the over 500 buildings lost were the historic post office that had opened in 1854 and the modern one that had served the community for many years. The grand opening of a brand-new post office in late February, 2024, signaled the end of hours long trips to the closest post office to send and receive mail. It also showed Grizzly Flats is, indeed, "On The Road Back"!
