This Canadian winter has been warmer than usual, thanks to El Nino.
But meteorologists are predicting that a La Nina event will be following soon, which could bring on more extreme weather than just the cold.
How will these shifting weather patterns impact Canada?
Naomi Barghiel reports.

While short El Nino's can happen, they tend to last about a year with La Nina's lasting longer. A short El Nino would be nice, since that will help keep the summer a bit on the cooler side after all this drought worry; but I am not getting my hopes up on this. My money is on them being right about it being a short El Nino; but we're probably going to have a stretched out middle period between them before the La Nina hits in late fall or early winter instead of summer. Now to just wait and see. P.S. This is all based on how they tried to call the El Nino event months prior and constantly having to update their predictions because of being off the mark to some degree. They mostly had the right of it, but not completely.

Submitted for the approval by the Global News Society... I call this story the Tale of LaNina.

this is a good thing for canada , previous events like these usually resulted in a super rainy spring / summer in alberta and BC, and too much rain is welcome considering how little we had last few years

I'm diggin' it. I'm not into 30+ heat I'm a cold weather animal. It's just much easier to deal with if you gotta be out all day in it.

Man made El Nino/ La Nina or the old fashioned natural one?

Sooo... Here's the thing... Because earth is a semi-closed loop system where all the different inputs of heat and energy mostly stay within the system that makes up the many different effects on our planet like climate, ocean temperatures, the atmospheric winds, etc and so forth... technically even though we have many artificial means to produce heat and energy today; we are also a part of that 'natural' system. The sun has its effect on it, as does the moon. (Tidal forces) The earth is, like it or not, one giant hugely interconnected system. And I do realize you could be talking about other 'artificial' methods of changing the global temperature. But those too are technically just inputs into the already 'natural' system as a whole. I'm not saying it has necessarily good or ill effect either. Just stating the fact of the matter.

People have no idea how much this Ocean Current affects weather around the world. The climate kooks want you to think it's soccer moms in SUVs that are responsible for slight variations in weather.

Funny how there’s never any discussion related to geoengineering and weather anomalies. Probably just a “Coincidence” of course.

C'mon. That's just conspiracy theories. Even though the science and annual meetings happen and hundreds of, studies and real world examples of said conspiracy theory exist does not prove it plausible. Like hunters laptop.

Buddy the only geoengineering happening is cloudseeding to get more water out of clouds. Stop getting your nonsense "news" from Russian Telegram bot farms and memes.

Have you seen the size of the Pacific Ocean, it’s like a giant bathtub, it’s warms and cools on a massive level. If you check the Paleo Climate records, you will notice over 1 billion years of temperature records, it’s all graphed out.
