This is the best explanation of El Nino/La Nina events I have seen. Clearly delivered and with all the details. Thank you so much Monica and Team!!!

Monica is so good. Watching this, I wonder about the people whose properties were flooded just last year. If they have re-built and moved back in, they must be freaking out about more possible flooding ahead during this upcoming wet season. I remember when I was looking to buy a house a few years ago, that I was really surprised about certain areas being flood-prone. I did not really believe it then. Now, I do

Well we declared El Niño in Australia, historically that’s when we’re in drought we were all preparing for massive fires well it hasn’t stopped raining all summer on our east coast, flooding in places 4 summer in a row now.

Seeing Lake Shasta and Folsom at only 50% is shocking, but of course that's probably in anticipation of a very wet winter 2023. after dropping to low emergency levels the epic drought breaking storm of spring 2023 filled every major reservoir in California to 100% within a week but I guess that's considered bad news for the water management folks... But dropping the reservoir levels to 50%? Considering recent history (last decade), that seems to be optimistic that the state will get up to half the rainfall that fell in 2023 this season.

I'm surprised that California doesn't have more planned flooding to try to recharge the Central Valley aquifers. The recent historical drought drained an enormous amount of ground water, one account I read said that parts of the Central Valley dropped 15' due to loss of aquifer water. Although I've heard of efforts to pump water into the ground, of course that's like a thumbnail of water in an enormous underground sea that's probably larger than all the Great Lakes combined. It's probably natural and good for the Central Valley to flood a bit to reabsorb as much water as it can, and would be an enormous benefit to future agriculture from end to end in the Valley. Any new construction built within the past 30 or so years in a Central Valley flood plain perhaps should be condemned and evacuated so that the area would be turned into natural water reclamation. There's probably of "other land" more suitable for building homes and businesses that wouldn't be in a natural flood plain. or if they insist in living in a flood plain then let them pay for their own protection and insurance. The State though should learn from recent climate history and prioritize the state's future water needs.

It was a very informative presentation, but you will never discuss Geo Engineering and Weather Modification programs that there is plenty of peer reviewed studies and documentation on.....but a Federal Gag Order prevents you from speaking about these programs that have been ongoing for decades. Sad that this is the case.😢

If you know how to read your own data, El Nino events have been cooling for 25 years.

El Nino is 'boy child' in Spanish. No "similar" about it, Lady.
