ELASTO MANIA is a game steeped in history. With 20 years worth of events, records, battles, speedruns, challenges, mods, gamemodes, fan games, and so much more! I think this anniversary, and Steam release make for a great opportunity to review and celebrate such a historic game.

Making your way through tricky terrain, controlling speed, balancing tilt and collecting goodies as you go will be challenging to master, but so much fun to play. Elasto Mania (ElMa) is a blast from the past, a cult classic indie motorbike simulator, a retro game of skill & style. Are you in for the ride?

10/10 video. No Elasto-Mania inspired or rip-off game comes even close to the original.

I remember one called "X-Moto" I think . Didn't like the physics as much and the rider was too big. But it was ok. Missing the elastic part

Much love from Hungary and speciel thanks for mentioned that game was made by a Hungarian! We played a lot this game in the early 2000's along with Dangerous Dave 2 and many adobe flash games. While the teacher did not notice sneakily mainly in the history classes. Btw. I almost falid the oral part of the history subject in the final exam to get the high school degree (it called Mature) :D but somehow I managed to got a sufficient level. Good old teenager memories! :)

Basically, I was staring at my RU-vid search bar and I said to myself "someone HAS to have done an elastomania retrospective" a quick search later and I'm glad you did. One of the most important games of my life.

This is an incredible video, showcasing an incredible game. Well done, 2 Left Thumbs! For me, as someone who has actually competitively played this game two decades ago - you perfectly describe my every thought in regards to this game. Even though I've managed to succeed one way or another in many games since - nothing has ever been worked on as hard, and made me as proud of my accomplishment, as my feats in Elma. Hands down one of the best games ever created imho.

Yeah it was very popular in Poland in my school at least. Although I was noob so I did not played much, I think it was especially popular among skate friends, it make sense considering game itself.

Thank you for making this awesome video! I LOVED this game! At my peak I was at least around top 200 on Mopo, a loooong time ago... I remember how happy I was when I managed to do the squeeze trick on Headbanger. I played Action SuperCross first, and I also remember a game before that called Jostra Cross (some kind of promotional game for the medical appliance company) that's like Action SuperCross but with lower resolution and instead of apples you pick up blood pumps and stuff. It was... weird. Anyway, thank you for making this video!

Thanks for the video, Elma defenitely needs more recognition. I played a lot back in the days, got something like top 200 in Russia, where it was very popular. Did all mid tier tricks and even some hard ones, but watching pro's WR replays was crazy back then while they were very optimized and now they are almost impossible to reach) That's why you see like 5 names in all WR's. Love the game, but I have this thing that if I feel that the game is really addictive it's better to stop playing and go touch the grass))

I made levels for it cause it has really easy to grab level editor that even a schoolboy could handle it. I made my friends complete my levels. And I was really blown away when I got from somewhere a pack of levels made by some other fans of the game. That was really feast of creativity.

Hi bro, Thank you so much for making this video! This game dereves recognition and you totally nailed it. Personally, this game means so much to me. I used to play it for over a decade, gradually perfecting my times (I'm not a pro nor an amateur). Eventually I became the leading player in my country (Israel), a record which still holds to this day. And it's funny what you said about school because it was true - we had this game installed on the only computer that was on the school's library haha BTW what's your total time?😁

Back when I had the demo, I played it, tried beating it, then got the computer taken from me by my parents who were quite concerned about the broadness of my foul vocabulary, that was on full display every time I failed any level past the fifth one. It was like every swearword from entire gangsta rap album, compressed into one sentence. Although they were slightly impressed that I was cussing in three foreign languages, on top of my native one, so there's that.

What school didn't have their system networked in 2000? The crappy school I went to in a small town their system were networked. Someone put EM on the network and shared it to all. Same thing with Dope Wars. Remember Dope Wars? Then someone brought in UT99 and the whole class was playing that. The teacher didn't give a fuck as long as you did the work and it was on time.

Those videos take MANY hour to put together. Unfortunately I just haven't had the time since about February/March. I've had to switch to content that I can work on in bursts, and that maybe collectively take about 4 to 8 hours instead of like 20 or 30 in order to maintain a schedule. I have been desparately trying to find a window to continue that series! I even had an intended window starting the 15th, that has since been moved around on me. I genuinely hope the wait isn't much longer. Pretty well all the planning is done. It's just a matter of executing!
