Elden Ring (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S/One) is filled with areas that are often tricky to find. Here are the ones that are totally worth finding. Subscribe for more: ru-vid.com?su... #EldenRing
@@Straight_White_Fatherly_Figure yeah, ha ha. he is just saying it's basically just dks3 and doesn't need to be open world. I must say I completely disagree with him on everything he said about it. It's an open world game, but not "needlessly" it's actually a great open world game that makes use of all of the space well.
The only downside is their response to "What if there were 2 bosses in a single fight" which results in many unbalanced fights that can make one mald insanely hard. And also one specific boss which summons 2 of the strong kind of knights as the battle starts :(
You can actually access Moghyn’s Blood Palace much earlier by talking to Varre at Rose Church in Liurnia and completing his quest. The blood palace has one of the best rune farming spots in the game!
This game man. I haven't felt this type of sense of discovery during exploration in ages. The amount of dungeons and hidden areas are so plentiful and almost always reward you with something useful. I love it.
@@edgeway9639 i agree on botw being better but you’re completely wrong by saying they “copied” First of all, elden ring was already in development before botw was even released Second of all, elden ring literally just took what they already had in past games and made it open world so idk where you’re getting the “they copied” part
@@XX___ the approach bro, the exploration, the reason why those few new open world games are succeeding is because they are replicating the BOTW formula
I think the Dragon Lord Plasidusax fight should be included on this list, easily one of the craziest secrets I found in my play through and I believe it’s the only way you can remove the frenzied mark of the three fingers
@@ollyoop4036 You need to use an item that you get after seeing through the whole quest line of Millicent, and also requires beating Malenia. Then you can cure the frenzied flame at the coliseum where Plasidusax is, even without beating him you just need to get there.
You need miquales needle to remove the frenzy flame. Millicent quest after defeating malenia unsert the golden needle and get miquales needle. R the purple loot is the recipes by thr finger print shield.
Going up to the waterfall after killing the gargoyles and finding that coffin by accident to take me to Deeproot Depths. It was like secret leading to secret, except the secrets in this game are huge areas with bosses and lore. The sheer thrill of discovery in this game… It reminds me of the first time I played Shadow of the Colossus. But, you know, filled with enemies.
@@zuxyr Define secret. It's an optional area that is hidden behind either walking through that waterfall or attacking behind the chest in Mohg's room. If that isn't secret, wtf is.
@@igotnukes6011 Actually in my first play, I just saw the light from the grace checkpoint pointing directly toward the coffin so I just go check and hop on by accident. The point is, the game kinda gives big hints there so yeah the area is not that secret imo.
I'm still shocked the amount of times I thought I thoroughly explored an area (like Limegrave) only to go back for a quest or hear about something online only to find a brand new area or secret I missed.
Even i missed some secret caves and a side-boss fight near the over brige area that connects limgrave to storm-castle. Seemingly empty area but it has 2 caves and a catacombs lol. Talk about content in this game.
once I finished the academy, I started following the "route" on the wiki.. even though Im super thorough and hate missing things there was a LOT that I missed..
It really is astonishing how massive this game really is. It truly is amazing and incredibly well designed and so much fun to explore. Hats off to the people who worked on it.
The moment I went into the elevator down, having run from horrible bears in a panic, and realising there was a whole other map layer whilst half the map above ground was still dark. Blew my little mind. Didn't get far since those slow moving enemies were so tanky
I took my time playing elden ring and when I finished my journey I was at 180 hours, i hit every place but I still missed some quests and lost of spells and items, it’s so huge that you’ll miss something every time
Im so deep in this game, abaout 160 hrs in and loving it and I dont typically get too far in souls type games. From the various tombs, dungeons and story, truly is awesome. For me the boss's still give me a "wtf"feeling but its been a fun ride so far.
Can we take time to appreciate all this? Game map is massive, so much exploration to do and hidden secrets. No annoying loading screen between zones, and you got freedom to go just about anywhere right off the start and the list goes on. I didn't hesitate to purchase and money was well spent. Hope other studios try to deliver something equal to this and not some half ass games with glitchy gameplay.
Totally agree, this game is a masterpiece it definitely deserves the appreciation and love its getting. Money well spent for sure, the beautiful and densely packed open world environments are mind blowing
@@IIIiiiDAWiiiIII what do you mean "trash rewards?" did you even explore the whole map and do NPC quests? There's tons of cool weapons, armor, spells, and incantations to collect and much more that make the game an amazing experience. I'm not sure what you're talking about but everyone I talk to who finished Elden ring or are playing it love the game.
@@tejathelegend150 i explored about 95% of the map and 99% rewards are souls gems, upgrade components or some random crafting material.... IF YOU ARE LUCKY you can get stonekey or HP rune. armor is kinda pointless in this game since you will get 3 shoted with best armor and 40 vigor and 60 poise with all talismans negating dmg 😂 I had about 200 of every crafting mat... never crafted anything in 80 hours. never used single incantation or spell and final boss took me 5 tries and i was like..... thats it? For someone who played all fromsoft games this is rly dissapointing game, this is FILLER SOULS 4 : REUSED EVERYTHING you can find so many bosses/locations from previus games that i though that im playing ds 3 from time to time.
I came across everyone of these areas in my first play through. Took me forever to complete this game because I had no idea what I was doing. Everytime a boss was too tough to beat I’d try a different direction or try find a special weapon someone told me about. Genuinely, the best game I’ve ever played by a mile
I’ve put 30 hours into the game and from watching your vids it reminds me I barely scratched the surface of the game. It’s so good and rewarding I’m loving every minute of it. Also another awesome vid guys, good work 👏🏻
I found all of these areas entirely different ways, I love this game so much. Seems like some areas just have non linear backdoors for the sake of getting wrecked for being in the wrong place.
Quick little Tip and correction: You can reach Nokstella without the portal in Rennas Rise, there is a coffin you can "sleep" into in another underground area that takes you to the same place the teleport does! Love the content lads keep it coming :)
After defeating the double gargoyle fight in nokron, there is a coffin which brings you to the deep root depth, then near the third bonfire there, thaaats when it takes you to ainsel river main to finish off the nokstella area which will also guide you to the lake of the rot and astel the secret boss fight
Woah, I actually found almost all of them on my first playthrough, except for the upside down tower, the frenzied flame and the portal back to the starting area. So thanks for those :)
The level of exploration in Elden Ring is unparallel. It's like the major feature of the game is no longer the hard bosses, but exploring and finding all the secrets!
Surprisingly I found the Haligtree Medallion on my own and it felt so satisfying to discover something hidden away in such an obscure place. Elden Ring is amazing and it would be much more amazing if only I wasn't maidenless.
Do you mean the 1/2 in the Abernathy Gould’s in that random scary ass cave sorry I’m not gonna forgive my series incompetence she can’t wait to spell her name right
Stumbling across each new area, some by accident is very exciting. Really enjoying all the Elden ring content lately, thank you for all your hard work you guys
That's funny, I found the left half from the guy in the jar when I first visited the area and spent a ton of time trying to find the other half (hadn't been to the mountains yet) so same frustration just opposite! Thanks for the heads up on that!
The amount of grinding that the crew of gameranx has to put in on top of how hard this game is, just jaw dropping and much appreciated, it doesn't go unnoticed!
Jarburg eventually gets attacked and it is tied to Diallos' quest....so there are things to do there...also it's a great resource for many plants/flowers
Invisible walls? Don't you mean visible, false walls or illusory walls? Invisible walls are things you get at the end of most open world games where it looks like you can keep going, but you can't because of a wall that you can't see.
@@JBrandonMercer123 Given that you're so insistent on semantics: Language evolves with use. "Invisible wall" has been the term for fake walls in Souls games since forever. Good luck trying to change a term the entire community acknowledges. People will also forever call grace/lamps/sculptor statues "bonfires" and the currency will always be "souls".
Damn, 90 hours in and still in awe of how much there is to discover in this crazy game, thanks for this, been trying to find the 3 fingers for a while now👍
@@tscotts9699 ye generic xD its givin u Total frreedom basicly nothin but last area is capped if u are Gut enaught u can get evry where, main hub is basicly free to explore and u dont even have to defeat single boss to progres to the highest lvl areas, ye generic xD
There's actually another way to reach Nokstella earlier. From the Unnamed Eternal City Grace Site in the Deeproot depths, if you go toward the waterfall that drops into nothingness you can find another coffin to crawl into and it'll take you to the Ansel River Main area which leads to Nokstella.
After you defeat the natural-born of the void there's a huge area after that, but you need to be pretty much 100% complete with rannis questline and have her ring in you're inventory to unlock it. There is a hidden cave in the caleid wilds that is part of seller's questline And in Raya lucaria, at the bottom of that giant gear elevator where you get the cat talisman is an iron maiden. If you let it eat you, AND YOU HAVE TO DIE FROM THIS, it will teleport you to a secret area in volcano manor. You need to make another video on secret areas because, quite frankly, there is A LOT
@@AccuracyBeast It’s just a boss room, nothing else in it except an elevator after that room that leads to be top of the mountain that the albanauric village is under
I remember being so surprised and astonished when I randomly came across Siofra River... and then getting obliterated by the spirit archers Edit: Oh and the crabs... can't forget about the crabs
I literally just found it like an hour ago. It's one of the coolest looking places in the game so far. I had just died on a corpse run, so had the liberty of being completely fearless and thought "Where does this lead to?"
I have good news for you: the rest of the game is so, so, so much worse than spirit archers 😂 just keep moving forward and don't get discouraged. Sometimes you may just need to come back a bit later
There are numerous night encounters in this game worth mentioning, I’m sure we’ve all seen the Night Cavalry by now. But there’s actually a secret boss outside of a sealed village guarded by a giant in Caelid. It’s called the Deathrite Crow and it’s basically the skeleton of a bird possessed by black flame magic. My guess is, there’s a lot of night time bosses that wander the lands between, so keep an eye out for those who lurk in the dark.
@@highraven8891 I wonder if you’re talking about the group of giants near the Margit boss zone. I’ll have to check that out. This one I’m talking about gave me issues even at level 90+
@@SekiberiusWelkesh I’m pretty sure you get a special something for defeating all of the Night Cavalry, so I wonder if the same applies to the Deathrite Birds? The one I mentioned was the only one I’ve found so far, and it have me a “greatsword” which is more of a poker with a crow’s talon attached to the end.
The Nokstella probably will be more commonly accessed by finding the coffin in the Darkroot Depths as I reached it prior to advancing that far in Ranni's storyline. Also, there is a hint to how to open the Frenzied Flame Door with a clue before it telling you to approach it as a wretch, a class which started out essentially naked in the game. Surprised the Moonlight Altar wasn't mentioned as well.
It's amazing how they managed to make an open world game but still keep the sense of discovery you get from exploring from more linear games like dark souls and Bloodborne.
I really enjoyed this video, I already found a few of these areas as I was exploring and leveling my character so I can breeze through bosses and wear some gear I have, it's my first souls type game and I love ❤️ it so Much!
So the first part of haligtree medallion is the one at the albinuriac village... its quite easy to find. The story will then lead you on. Journey to Moghwyns palace can be done easier and earlier by comleting the White mask Vareé quest... Lake of rot is visible from one of the underground regions. There is like a balcony or something in one of the ant lairs + don't forget about the boss in the lake of rot area
This game.... Let me tell you....... Yeah this game.... I'm honestly mesmerized by many if the locations. Art direction trumps graphics any day of the week and twice on Sunday. My only complaint is KB&M. I have to use my Wooting 2 keyboard via the wootility and rebind keys. Also same for my Logitech Ergo max thumb trackball. rebound as many things as I could. Now i can Play with authority.... I have 100 hours in at lvl 63 and i can tell 500 hours is around the corner. This video showed me several things i didn't know about, thanks gameranx...
This makes me so excited to get off work and go do some of this that I missed. I’ve run into so few NPC’s with side quests and have been wanting to do more.
what makes me most happy about how secluded these areas can be is that it’s very easy to find them through natural but they usually have two ways to get in. Like you can get to the deeproot depths through the way you described but there’s the double secret wall hidden behind the frenzied flame door area that also gets you there. Moghyn palace has the teleporter and can be gotten to through Varre. Love fromsoft giving you multiple options
I'm officially 100 hours into this game. I'm trying to do a full run of the game, with most side-quests completed and looking into every corner of the map, and I'm not even close to getting to the end of the game. I don't know what kind of development cycle Fromsoftware had to go through to deliver us this priceless gem, but I thank god they made it. This game is amazing.
I just beat the last boss at 107 hours and I still have to go back through and finish some hero's graves and catacombs that I missed! There is no lacking of things to do in Elden Ring
@@nicholasbarrett7131 From Soft started development of Elden Ring in 2017 after the Ringed City DS3 DLC, and created this game alongside Sekiro. They've been super busy these past 5 years!
U can quickstep through the lake of rot a little faster but I found my fp better used on the “flame, cleanse me” incantation . U can survive and if u just commit and run south for the next bonfire. . . And heal when u need to. Take care of the rot on platforms and jump as far as possible into the red stuff too and u won’t always get the rot between platforms too. I spent way too much time at this place
I'd just like to point out how classy and elegant you guys where with being super informative whilst also not spoiling anything. Even the drops or loot you'd get from a place you didn't even get or go near. Great video as always, can't wait for the next one🤘💪
The only thing so far id add is the ability to break down weapon upgrades for materials back. I have so many new weapons but none are as strong as my upgraded one so why would I ever use weaker weapons?
Not gonna lie, Elden Ring is probably the perfect RPG for me… I love the sense of exploration and the dungeons are top notch! Stormveil Castle blew my damn mind, I kept exploring and the more I explored the more I found… secret after secret, crazy platforming and shortcuts… I thought it was unique, but then Raya Lucaria had the same thing! It just goes on and on! I love it… Games don’t all need to be this massive, but should absolutely learn from this game about exploration, true and honest CHOICE and have the bravery to make thing optional! So many games are afraid of making things optional because we might skip it.. but The Witcher, and Elden Ring have taught me that if you make a compelling and enjoyable game with lots to find… we will absolutely find it all! I doubt anyone skipped the Bloody Baron quest, or didn’t do Rannis quests, even though they’re optional. I only just beat Rennalla because I basically did 100% on Limgrave and the weeping peninsula.. etc. I can’t help but explore every inch of everywhere before I move on.
@@unintentional_smile I'm mostly drawn to these spoiler because there's a region I can't reach in Luirnia. The space directly above the Albinauric village. There's clearly a tower up there, or something, but I can't seem to find a way up there.
@@romanemp1985 I haven’t found a way up there, either. I figured it’s via a sending gate I haven’t found yet (or some similar mechanism). I’ve only gone through one at Four Belfries so it could be one of those.
You can also reach the Mohg Lord of Blood by completing a side quest line at Rose Church in Liurnia with the NPC who deems you maidenless at the beginning of the game. However, you're probably at a more appropriate level to fight him by the time you reach the northern portal.
Fun little tidbit of info for ya: Siofra is actually an Irish feminine name that means something along the lines of elf or fairy. It's also pronounced Shee-fra. FromSoft do like their Irish names and words I've noticed.
People that do videos like this are just the best. Thanks man I'm 200 hours in and my hearts just warmed up by seeing jar bug how lovely need to check that place out
There is actually other way to get into Moghwyn Palace by talking to Varre (the guy you first encounter when you leave the spawning dungeon) and doing as he says. Although you might have to fight Radahn first not sure since i already fought him before i talked to Varre.
My god I'm 75 hours in a d I've only killed about 12 bosses, but I've found so many areas I can tell I'm not ready for, I hadn't played in over a year so thought I'd re roll a new character (faith, dex, strength, mind, vigor build, first time trying this, great so far) the money's worth out of this game is insane
10:55 In this room, a wall is an illusion. You can't attack in here so just try rolling then u will find a chest. Then roll again to wall behind the chest. U will be shocked when u seee where u r.
I didn't know you could get to the deep root depths via the gargoyle arena. I went down the same hole where the frenzied flame is. Does it change anything depending on how you get there?
0:10 Jar town Liurnia 1:08 Inverted Carian study hall 2:36 Eternal city of Nokron 3:53 Miquella's Haligtree 5:10 Volcano manor 6:15 Mogwin palace 7:07 Nokstella 7:59 Lake of rot 8:59 Deeproot depths 10:07 Frenzied flame prescription 11:34 Starting area
I wasn’t a fan of the other 4 games (but I enjoyed Sekiro). And this game was just so pretty I didn’t want to not give it a chance. And I’m loving it. So glad I picked myself up a copy.
After 80 hours and grinding to level 179 quite easily, this went from a difficult game in the beginning to a cupcake by the end of it. Big shout out to mimic tear, rotten breath, and the ruins greatsword. When the game was brutal early on, it was really brutal, exhilaratingly so. But that made me enjoy easy mode so much more
The Frenzied Flame area is actually one of the endings as well... however according to people it is the... very bad ending idk the details fully, but I've mainly just been exploring whatever meets my fancy lol, I really liked the Capital's area (no matter how much it caused me a fair amount of grief) all the bright white and gold aesthetic and design really says a lot
What kind of ending it is depends on your own personal ideas. I actually prefer that ending over all the others because it truly breaks the cycle. (You could argue the same with the ranni ending but that's still very different.) The cinematic is awesome.
Theres also another boss below Godrick. You go to the grace right before him and instead of going right you continue straight up the small hill. From there you want to do is turn right and follow the ledge around the area. There's a bit of jumping involved and a small fall but it leads you to another small secret boss.
I found nokstella and also the blood lord palace both in completely separate ways then you have mentioned, also deeproot depths can be reached from the same room with the frenzied flame behind yet another illusionary wall
To be honest I rarely know if the dungeon I am doing is optional or part of the main game. Lol Exploration feels so rewarding. I just did the ant tunnels with the dragonkin boss. Love yalls videos by the way.
I realize that this may already have been mentioned but Getting to Moghyen via the consecrated snowfield portal is NOT the only way to get there. I got to the palace super early in the game by completing an NPC quest. Love the videos that you all do!
I found an invisible maze that you can only reach by dropping down to an area with reduced fall damage, then it goes top down view and you have to navigate the maze
I missed the cave of knowledge (aka the tutorial) in the beginning. No way I'm jumping down there 😆. Especially with all those messages on the ground telling me to jump. This is my first from software game obviously
Love this game. Easily one of my top five games. And this game also terrifies me. Stormveil Castle and Haligtree gave me SO MUCH ANXIETY going through them the first time around.
@@Jim26D Sorry for the late reply! My bad if you've already figured out, but you have to do some platforming around that area and find a key--and also another area that you need to keep an eye on ledges for.
To get to mohgwyn’s palace, you can also simply do Varrés quest at the church of roses and then use the last item he gives you at the upper part if siofra river, where the dragon knight boss is (not eternal city, you get there via the portal on the broken pillar next to the minotaur archers). You have to use it twice there until you get the option to accept audience. Then immediately go to the temple as to get a site of grace
11:00 There is a quest with a blind maiden that you must give 3 shabiririgrapes. You will meet her down there at the end and she will tell you the secret how to open the door. Also down there opposite of the grace is a illusionery wall 2 in a row that lead you to a second secret area.
Finding the dungeon hidden behind a false wall in Caelid, near the graveyard. The boss or should I say bosses, as there are 3 of them are a toughie. Good stuff in this dungeon, plus other secret walls, so go hitting things and see what you find. This game is awesome, and I hope FromSoftware continue with this format going forward.
@@verg1l9 Go to Fort Faroth and then find the updraft for Torent. Along the cliff. Drop down and it's just along that wall behind the biggest square tombstone (Big Skeleton in front of it). Hit the rockface around that area from which you just dropped down. The dungeon is called:- Sellia Hideaway. Hope that helps
One correction, you can also get to mohg's palace area if youve gotten over halfway through varres questline. After soaking a cloth he gives you in maidens blood, he gives you an item that can teleport you to the mohg palace area. Best rune farm in th game, 50k runes per time you load the area
@@GalaxiaKnightX Dont know if you have found out yet, but you need to complete Millicents quest line and then defeat Malenia and activate Milicents item. You will get a new item that you can use in the twin headed dragons arena to remove the curse.
